This store has been pretty decent price wise and has been a go to for things that we have needed for our special needs child. Things such as Pullups and Pediasure are a no brainer here as typically they are in stock and the price is decent. The employees here seem to have a better attitude here than they do at the Spanaway store and actually get to know you. My only real complaints about this store is that there is not enough disabled parking and the exit onto the highway is notorious for wrecks since people are in such a hurry to leave. read more

Don't believe the haters. The renovations have been done so this WM looks like a cross between a Target and an Old Navy. There are more self checkouts and more people manning the front of the store. Same fast friendly service with a smile. This WM is clean, parking lot is clear of baskets most of the time and the grocery pickup on the app is choice/dang near perfect. Parking is hard to find especially if you are looking for a disabled spot and this lot is notorious for having pretty rude people and that's just in the parking lot. Inside the store it has gotten better since the remodel and it does look better than it has. The hardest part of dealing with the employees is the lack thereof. Walmart is trying to save money by replacing them with self checkout and locking things up instead of hiring employees and providing great customer service. The family restroom is a trainwreck and difficult to use if you have a child with special needs. Unfortunately there are not very many choices for stores here so we are stuck with it read more

I was quite impressed with the cleanliness and organization as well as what they had to offer. I enjoyed my shopping experience thoroughly. The isles were not crowded and spaced too close together so it made it easier to navigate. All of the workers I came in contact with were kind and helpful. It really put to shame the other two Walmarts I had been going to. I'm going to make a point of going here more often, even though I live a distance from it. read more

The guys in the tire center are thieves!!! My daughters car needed tires on it and so we went into the Walmart supercenter in their auto area in Yelm and got tires. The gentleman that waited on us, a very tall, bald man, was awesome. However, I think that there is a thief working in their midst. My daughter had black, aluminum valve stem caps that had a sunflower on them. When we checked the car, a few days later, we noticed that they were not on it. There was just plain plastic valve stem caps on it. we called Walmart several times and we're hung up on, several times. When we finally got a hold of someone, the manager said that they would go and see what was going on. No one called us back, so my daughter drove in there. The manager said they didn't know who they belonged to so they put them in a ziploc and they were put in the lost and found. The person that actually did the tire change, said he put them in a bag in his area and then he was off for a couple days, so someone must've stolen them or threw them away. Two different stories from two different people. Sunflowers are a big thing, my guess is, somebody probably saw those sunflower valve stem caps and thought, gee, my wife or my girlfriend or sister would probably love these so I'm just gonna stick them in my pocket. No one offered to possibly replace them or anything. Basically, it was just tough luck. Sucks to be you. This is a really really crappy way of doing business why would they keep hanging up on people? First and foremost, the bathrooms are disgusting--filthy and smelly. The toilets need to be replaced; they don't flush properly even after use. The stalls are in disrepair and basically broken. It's clear that the cleaning staff aren't doing a thorough job, as they still feel dirty. Also, the sinks barely work and need to be fixed. I'm no plumber, but it's clear that the restrooms need a complete overhaul. As for the NECA section, it's poorly organized and lacks variety. There's hardly anything I'm interested in; I really want to see more NECA figures instead of the limited selection available. It would be great to replace some of the Dragon Ball Z items with more NECA figures. Additionally, some staff members are a bit odd--they tend to stare at customers as if they're going to steal, which feels judgmental and unwelcoming. The food is okay; it's Walmart, so it's not the best but not the worst either Note: Please improve the NECA figure selection and add more variety for collectors like me. read more

Just wanted to recognize an employee at Walmart. Her name was Atlantis. She was working in the dairy section. I saw that what I was looking for was not there ( white chocolate raspberry creamer by delight) she stopped what she was doing and looked. The first place she looked there wasn't any. So instead of telling me no they didn't have any, she took that extra step and looked at another place and it was there. Not too many people or employees will take that extra step nowadays she was very friendly and was willing to help. Her name was Atlantis and I feel that she deserves recognition. Four stars simply because Walmart is not really my favorite place to shop. A lot of employees there are not willing to take that extra step or they are too busy amongst themselves talking ready to get rid of the customer. So kudos to Atlantis for helping me get what I came for thank you! read more

The bakery has some nice people, but the last couple of cakes showed me they lack the skill or care in the cakes. The most recent cake was missing an entire layer. I have now learned my lesson with this go around and will no longer purchase cakes from here. read more

I was teased taunted and called a Caren after I discovered water on the floor that was left by an employee who had been stocking the freezers, I brought it to the attention of several employees. None of them where compassionate enough to see the hazard or to think it may be a slipping hazard that elderly could potentially slip fall break a hip or other bones or kids can track through it, I ask if someone had a cone at least to put over it to warn others who didn't see it cause they where shopping. And nothing as the employees filling the carts for online shoppers stood in their covey looking at me and murdering to each other and even though a manager showed up he also stood around murdering to the others who where bound and determined to make me wrong no one would bring out a cone a mop a rag a paper towel they all just stood there staring making fun of me, the second thing that happened one of these employees having acne squeezed puss and blood out of her face then reached down and picked up a package of frozen chicken parts with that same hand and put it in the cart she was as using to shop for someone else, please don't shop there you put your life in their hands if you do, I noticed they set out the frozen foods from a big pallet and it sits out on the floor for long periods of time defrosting while the employees stand around and talk with one another, this is also done with the eggs they come out on a huge pallet and sit without refrigeration for long periods of time I don't think these kids take a food handlers class so they do not understand about bacteria and by their attitude of rudeness towards me they do not care, if you want safe food do not shop at this Walmart read more

The Yelm Walmart needs some help. Whenever I go in there I feel like the Gestapo from 1940's Germany is watching and I pay for what I get. So when the SS is at the door looking at receipts I burry it in one of the bags I got and when they ask I say, "It's in one of the bags, I don't know what one and if you want it you can dig it out". Then I just watch then dig in my bags looking for it. LOL!! Had one lady ask three times if it is okay if she looks for it. I finally said in a stern voice "I said if you want to see it you have to find it". My hands are full already what do they want... Half the time they just tell me to go it is okay. I suggest everyone do this making it twice as hard for them. They already for facial recognition and know if you are a thief they honestly do not need the ticket checker at the door. Any good review given has to be rigged as there is nothing pleasant about the Walmart in Yelm. The highschool even has to drive to a different one since they're understocked. The staff will take their name tags off and harass customers, which I experienced personally. I called human resources in advance and asked them if I could park in their parking lot with my rv and they said I could for 24 hours, in order, to take on a subbing job. But then a Walmart person with no security badge said she was security and I had to leave. When I said that she and human resources need to be on the same page, she walked away and said, " No we don't!" I left and came back the next day in the afternoon to patron Subway and another staff who talked to the previous staff said that I had to leave because There's signs that say no overnight parking. I replied that it wasn't even sunset. Then she started yelling, You're not listening!" Again I left and I will never go back! This Walmart seems to be on the higher ends of Walmart. It is well organized and the employees for the most part are very kind and helpful. This Walmart is clean, and holds its employees to that premise too. I can often times find items in this store that I cannot find in another Walmart. As far as problems go this ones list is short, mainly the only problem is finding a hand basket is often times impossible. I typically shop for a few items where a large cart is not necessary and a hand basket would suffice. read more

worse service ever! went to pick up a $7. fragrance today. It was locked up like it was worth $700. Bad enough, but then when I asked to gain access the clerk in the fragrance dept. (the only one available apparently), made me wait 10 minutes while she checked out a grocery customer with a full cart who was too lazy to go to the regular grocery checkout. After waiting and letting the clerk know that it was stupid to lock up a $7 dollar item as well as make customers wait while she checked out a person that shouldn't be there in the first place. (the locked counter was right behind the clerk). I then went to complain to the store manager and as expected that got me no where and was a further waste of time, "we have to keep it locked up due to shoplifting". I drive the 15-20 mins it takes to get from Lacey to Yelm just because of the TLE. Now I know that one might say I could just go to Jiffy Lube or some other oil service shop closer to Lacey and get the same service. I don't care, because not only are the people in this Walmart nice but I can get some shopping done without too much wait even at key times of the day. I've been on the weekends & at night and during lunch hour and it is usually quiet as a mouse and not a whole bunch of random kids running around or people walking around with sweatpants and Uggs and some sloppy shirt. I know....no lousy looking people at Walmart ?? What da eff. Anyway I really like this walmart and I'll keep coming back as long as they keep the TLE. This review isn't meant to slight the customer service at this location, as the associates and manager did what they could within corporate policy; however, corporate policy needs to be changed if this is how the response to a situation like mine is handled. On Friday, February 8th, I purchased a set of tire chains (Peerless Auto-Trac, about $80) from this location. A big part of what I do for a living is driving, and with the recent winter storm that blew through the state (and my vehicle being a Front-Wheel Drive vehicle) I knew I'd need tire chains for my travels. I installed the chains on Saturday morning, and before the end of the day the chains on my right tire had snapped and were shooting sparks on the road. So, given that the product didn't even make it a single day before it broke I thought it would be a reasonable thing to head over there and get an exchange. I need these chains for work as I mentioned, so I wasn't even thinking about a refund. Of course, given the storm they were sold out of the chains when I arrived. It was at that point that I was informed that due to corporate policy, they weren't allowed to return my opened tire chains for any reason whatsoever, and that I'd have to go through the manufacturer. To recap on that: I bought the chains for the winter storm that came through, which in about a week/week and a half is going to be done and over with. They broke in a single day. They want me to go through the manufacturer for a replacement, which will take a few weeks at best and about a month or more most likely. They couldn't give me a refund to get my chains at a different provider, so I asked if I could get store credit since, *maybe*, there might be another Walmart with the product that I could have hold it for me to come by and pick up. I was told they couldn't do that either. Specifically, I was told that "If we had the product in stock, this wouldn't be a problem at all and we'd exchange it for you." So because they were sold out, there was nothing they could do since the product was opened. A product that could have become a safety hazard on the road for snapping off the way it did -- in its first day of use -- that I was relying on getting me through the mess on the roads so that I could work. Instead, I have to go through the manufacturer, *two days after buying the product*, to get a replacement that won't even arrive while the snow and ice are still a problem. Walmart refuses to stand by a customer who had the misfortune of purchasing a defective product from one of their stores and offer any kind of option beyond "oh well" when it comes to a refund, exchange, or store credit to use at another location for the same product. A disheartening experience made worse by the fact that I now will need to spend just as much at another place of business for a replacement that Walmart thinks I can wait on the manufacturer to get from instead. read more

Went to Tire & Lube on Sunday and there were only ~2 people working, busy in the shop. Nobody answered the buzzer. I could not get the lobby exit door opened, so had to exit the far way through the gargantuan Supercenter. I have definitely noticed a decline in personnel quality at Walmart tire centers. Over the last ~2 years they have changed from regular crews to a bunch of different newbies every other day. The problem is not so much the lack of technical experience as it is in unfamiliarity with policies and severe understaffing, especially on Sundays. I have observed this understaffing trend first at the Camas Supercenter where I used to be a regular, then east Vancouver, then at Roy Supercenter, Fed.Way stores, etc. So Sunday is especially a no-go for Tire & Lube service. read more

The worst place I have every worked managers have disgusting attitudes (directed towards front end) they sit around and do nothing most the day. Then you got the secret shoppers of Walmart. I've overheard many of their conversations because they like to sit on the phone and talk to each other whole shift but they are terribly prejudiced and you would be 100% SHOCKeD by some of the things they say about customers. I'm very disappointed in some of the employees at Walmart. I arrived to a checkout counter the same time as an elderly woman did and allowed her to go in front of me. The cashier suddenly turned her light off and asked me to leave her line because she was closed. I informed her o was here at the same time as the woman in front of me but rolled her eyes and walked forward. I graciously removed myself from her lane as I did not want to engage in an argument.
