Costco Misled Customers by Recommending a Horrible HVAC Contractor We chose Brennan specifically because they were promoted and recommended through Costco, and we trusted that Costco would properly vet the companies associated with its brand. That trust was clearly misplaced. Our family spent nearly $30,000 on an HVAC and air conditioning system installed by Brennan, only to receive shockingly poor workmanship. The installation was done with hoses and wiring cutting directly through the home with little apparent regard for proper engineering design, aesthetics, or long-term functionality. The overall quality of the installation was far below what anyone should expect for a project at this price point. Even worse, the system failed after just 3 years and 9 days -- only nine days outside the warranty period. When we contacted Brennan, they sent a service technician who recommended using a sealant solution that would essentially reduce the lifespan of the unit instead of properly repairing the system. The response felt careless, dismissive, and entirely focused on avoiding responsibility rather than helping the customer. What is especially disappointing is Costco's role in all of this. Brennan's poor reputation and long-standing customer complaints are not difficult to find. Their track record speaks for itself. Despite this, Costco continues to recommend them as a trusted provider under the Costco name. After bringing these concerns to Costco directly -- including the premature system failure, the poor installation quality, and Brennan's inadequate response -- Costco declined to take meaningful action. That response was incredibly disappointing given Costco's reputation for customer service and consumer advocacy. Costco's recommendation gave our family confidence to move forward with Brennan, and we now feel that confidence was misplaced. Companies endorsed by Costco should meet a significantly higher standard of workmanship, integrity, and customer support than what we experienced here. We strongly encourage other homeowners to thoroughly research HVAC contractors independently and not rely solely on Costco's recommendations or partnerships when making major home investment decisions. read more

I recently moved to the area about a month ago, and having this Costco Wholesale just two blocks away has been incredibly convenient--I absolutely love it. This location has a gas station, which is always a huge plus, although like most Costco locations, it tends to be busy. The parking lot fills up quickly, so I usually save myself the stress and park near the back. Shopping inside can get a bit overwhelming at times, especially when it's crowded and people tend to stop in the middle of aisles to browse or chat. Regardless, I would say that most shoppers are polite, and the overall atmosphere is still pleasant. I appreciate the variety of items available--there are some staples I can always count on, while others seem to rotate or be limited. Buying in bulk at reasonable prices is definitely a win. One thing I found funny is that the layout here feels like a flip-flopped version of the Costco I used to visit on Exposition in California. It's organized similarly enough that I've been able to find what I need pretty quickly after just a few visits. My only small disappointment is that they don't carry the caramel flavor of the Premier Protein shakes I love--but that's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things. Customer service has been great overall though. Whether it's regular checkout or self-checkout, employees are friendly and helpful. Sometimes they even pre-scan items in your cart to speed things up, so by the time you get to checkout, you can leave all your items in your cart, scan your membership card, and just pay for all the items that were pre-scanned without having to place them on the conveyer. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. We also had questions about using our Costco rewards, and the staff at the membership counter were super helpful in walking us through the process. The food court is another bonus--we ordered a whole pizza once, and I love how easy it is to use the kiosks. They call out order numbers instead of making people line up, which honestly works so much better given how crowded the food court area usually gets at every Costco. Overall, it's been a really positive shopping experience, and I will definitely be a frequent regular here. read more

I'm so glad that Costco has gotten so big that it doesn't need to care about individual members experiences anymore. Long story short this is about their pitiful food court. 25 minutes to get cold pizza, wrong order, being lied to and now ignored by store, regional and corporate management. I absolutely love Costco!!!! I went all my life never stepping foot inside one until now and I was blown away! It's so worth the yearly fee for the membership! The customer service is phenomenal, they are well stocked, and the prices are exceptionally excellent! You get so much with paying so little and I could buy an entire pallet of a product if I absolutely wanted and that's epic! 10/10 will definitely be going back! So glad my mother in law gifted me a membership! It's so worth driving the hour and thirty minutes to get there! read more

Apparently they don't have anyone on staff at this location that knows how to sign people up for a new membership. We stood in line for 35 minutes while 7 employees tried to help one customer and couldn't find a single employee who knew how to sign up new customers. We had been members for 20 years but temporarily lived away from a Costco and needed to sign up all over again. This was THE single worst experience we've ever had at a Costco. This is one of the Costco we drop by for goodies and gas! The food counter offers Self-Serve Kiosks, which is a great way to reduce the long lines, its easy and user friendly, just pick and pay the item you want, get the ticket and proceed to the Self-Serve line to pick up your food! Had the Hot Turkey Provolone Grilled Sandwich, it was hot and crunchy on the outside and the turkey & cheese makes a good combination of savoury heaven! Gas prices is always attractive at Costco and lucky for us that day there was no line ups! As a member for years, I still enjoy going to different Costco and explore their special items at each locations! read more

I have been a member of Costco for year's but not anymore. I went in this afternoon and even though my mom and I both have cards she can't find her card so I showed my card and she paid and they told her she needed to use her own membership card to check out if she was going to pay. This is a ridiculous policy and why do they care who is paying for it if they are getting our money? People lose their cards all the time and to have a policy like this is outrageous. The service sucks. Selection is okay. Savings and Value are minimal Every time we come here in the last 2 years, we ask them not to overfill boxes. My husband broke his arm in 2021 and has been having a lot of trouble with muscle atrophy and pain. So, of course, we ask to please keep the boxes on the lighter side. Not once has anyone listened!! They put all the meat in one box, and that alone with a family of 5 is going to be hard to move. This time, it took 2 workers to move the box after asking 5 times to change how they were putting things in. We ended up dropping several items from the cart as we left the store, and again, we warned them that would happen. Just because a worker can help put heavy boxes in, does not mean we have the means to take heavy boxes out at home. Also, who stacks chips UNDER the box of meat???? read more

I'm posting a review on the food court. Particularly the pizza. I'm truly surprised of the taste and cost of pizza. Today was the second time going to Costco just to get their pizza. I like the cheese pizza the best over the pepperoni. ( the only two kind they have) when ordering there they have been pretty fast on making them! The pizzas are Big! Well worth the price! Which is under 10 before tax. I actually think it has become my go to place for pizza! The employees there are friendly and you can tell work hard ! I've seen some 1 star reviews for a bad experience with a cashier. That's pretty critical to sum up the entire store by a cashier's interaction. It prompted me to leave a review to counteract the unfairness of that. The shopping experience is more than a cashier. This Lacey store has been mostly good for the four years we've been going to it. Fortunately they've added self checkout for when you want the one thing you can only get at Costco... or when you want to avoid a cashier. Costco has some items that are so unique and excellent, we keep coming back. Even when a cashier is having a bad day, we still return. TP, walnuts, almonds, peeled hard-boiled eggs, cheeses, one of a kind treats, pre-made meals, economy sized vitamins -this stuff can be impossible to find anywhere else at the quality and quantity Costco offers. Fruits and veggies we get at Winn co. because t's usually better and cheaper. I look at Costco as a store offering value. I've found I get good stuff for my money 98% of the time. I am very impressed with Melissa at the Costco Lacey Hearing Aid Center. I have been wearing hearing aids for about 20 years, and love the new generation Kirkland Signature aids with built-in chargable batteries and blue tooth technology to take calls hands free. But I digress. I have had some changes in my hearing and Melissa did a new hearing test and adjusted my aids perfectly! She was terrific in that she explained the tests and results to me in a way I understood, which no other audiologist has ever done for me before! read more

Best deal at Costco is the gas, it's the lowest anywhere around. Most convenient thing to me is the take and bake meals in the Deli section. The portions are generous and I can feed the whole family like a homemade meal without all the prep work! The Kirkland brand liquor is a really sweet deal, I like the vodka even more than Grey Goose. Something you'll notice is that they are constantly moving stuff around so you'll have to look for done if your favorite items but you get used to it. Oh and their flowers are really fresh and last a long time. The employees are friendly and helpful especially at checkout. Definitely recommend, especially if you have a big family! read more

Went to Costco today at 2:45pm and just bought a huge cart of food, went up to the counter and there were these two older ladies one name is heather, just chatting, not paying attention Then while they are boxing up our stuff we asked for a box, heather said, well we don't have boxes?!? Every time I go I've never had anyone say that. Then I had to go find a box myself, which isn't a huge sea but she was so rude!!!! This particular store in Lacey usually has very rude cashiers and baggers. Every time you ask them to keep raw meet separate from items like ice cream, bread, veggies, etc, - foods you would not cook - they look at you like deer in headlights and still stuff it in your boxes all together. Is it done on purpose? Will management ever train its employees on food safety and this location? Another common thing here is hatred towards white people, especially those who you would consider the upper middle class. I have observed times and again how white folks are treated rudely on a regular basis here while " minorities" are being given special treatment. Enough already with this CRT marxism. PSA: avoid the Hawks Prarie Costco at all costs! Go to Tumwater...besides it being crazy the week before Christmas, they are checking every.single.item as you go out the door. The lines at the registers weren't bad, but omgoodness the line to leave the store went from the door all the way to the bathrooms! I only had 4 items but had to wait forever for jam packed carts to be itemized and accounted for. 2 people got sent back for a cashier error. I will NOT go back there. This review is just for the Tire Center: I made an appointment to get the tires on my Honda replaced, and while making the appointment I asked how long it normally takes? They replied "Maybe an 1hr to 1hr 15min tops." This was great because it's not hard to waste some time in Costco for an hour, and even grab lunch. The employees where all very friendly, and our new tires are great. That being said: I did end up waiting 3hrs for my car! This is so crazy to me since I had an appointment, and asked ahead of about timing. I would have definitely made other plans (had someone pick me up) if I knew I was going to be waiting that long. There was also trash left in our car when I retrieved it from the Tire Center parking area. I really wish I could've given them a higher rating. But the trash and wait time really pissed me off, hence only 3 stars. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews on places mostly cuz I don't like to run on negativity. But this Costco has not been a good experience ether of the times me and my mother have been and we have been to a lot of Costco's. Employees seemed pissed and annoyed to be at their jobs (Again been to a lot of Costco's in WA and that rarely seems to be that case. Stressed maybe sure but not annoyed). They also seem to give smaller drink cups then any other Costco I've been to. Maybe they were just out of cups that day but if not then you certainly have to pay more for less then other Costco's. They also refused to add a bit of extra chocolate to my mother's Mocha freeze without charging claiming "We have no way of charging for it" . If this was a standard thing it would be fine. But I've ordered it for her before like that at the Costco in Shoreline, Lynwood, Woodinville, Kirkland and Tumwater without anyone even giving it a second glance or thought and we have been to all those locations many times the Shoreline and Lynwood ones maybe hundreds without it being an issue. Overall just not a good Costco go to the Tumwater one instead. read more

So wife and I usually shop at the Tumwater Costco but needed to do some shopping around Lacey so decided to shop at this Costco today. At the check out, the cashier asked for my ID cause we had a case of beer. After I gave her my ID, she asked if I have a Costco card, I said my wife just gave you hers. The cashier was like, policy states we can't sell you any alcohol cause you don't have a membership card with us. Well, ok. I told her we don't need it then. I guess that must've made her mad or whatever cause we didn't beg for it, I don't know. Then as I take out my credit card and getting ready to pay for our stuff, the cashier then said I'm not supposed to be paying for these cause my wife is the member not me, but would let us do it this time. I didn't say anything else as the cashier schooled us on how we shall read the fine prints of the Costco agreement where it states that only member can pay for items. I was getting upset about all these schooling and told her I would add her name to my card so we won't have a problem in the future. And she finally stopped talking. Wife and I have shopped at many different Costco together and never had a problem like this. I was ready to tell her that since I'm not allowed to pay for my family's stuff in Costco then we will just leave now and they can restock the stuff back to the shelves if she continued her bashing. I get Costco's policy and will follow them if they want to enforce it. But I don't need someone with an attitude to tell me I can't pay for my family's groceries and then act like she did us a big favor cause she let me paid. Bought a package of nicotine gum with 380 pieces in it. Got home and found that the package had been opened, 50 pieces removed, and then the passage had been carefully taped back together. Thought it was funny that my guy and I stopped here on our way home to Oregon to get cheap Costco liquor for our liquor cabinet which was only one bottle of vodka, and one bottle of whiskey and you wouldn't believe the looks we got. We felt so judged along with the oh, be careful! Have fun! Did they not see the Oregon ID? We don't get Costco brand liquor in our State bud! We have to go to Wa, or Ca. I felt like I was in a church house doing something wrong . Like the kid that just farted in church, and everyone is staring! We have stopped at several Costco's in the past and bought cases of whiskey, and Vodka and never had been made to feel like this.
