Here's the thing: I've never been much of a Big Lots shopper…read more There's no particular reason for that, it's just not a spot that was ever really on my radar. Until, a couple of years ago, in a Holiday shopping haze, I wandered into a Big Lots in my previous hometown of Boise, Idaho (it was actually in nearby Meridian, Idaho...but close enough). I was hoping to score some reasonably priced Christmas wrap. On my way to their holiday section, I happened by their home section. I was in the market for some blackout curtains as my husband was working night shift at the time. I had found some at other department stores for $70 per panel, but came across nearly identical ones here for more like $20 per panel. Whaaaa?! Given I needed 4 panels, it was a no brainer. I then promptly forgot about Big Lots until recently when I needed new curtains for my new old house. After trying Crate & Barrel, The Pottery Barn, and Target--I remembered that curtain deal of Christmas past and made my way to Menomonee Falls to give Bit Lots a try. Yahtzee! I found the six panels I needed for $19 per panel. And, a fun and funky curtain rod for $15. And, a cute decorative tray for 7 bucks. Oh! And, a gorgeous scented candle in a decorative pot for a whopping 4 bucks. The deals are real, my friends. While not everything in the store is of great quality, if you're a savvy shopper (I'm not, but fortunately had one with me), there are deals on some amazing items to be found. Get to it!

This isn't a regular go to for anything, but I do like to stop in every few months to see what's new for any particular holiday or season. The candle selection cannot be beat, in my opinion. With the most wonderful scents, and colors that truly go with any decor, something is wrong if you can't find one you like here. The seasonal decor area is such an eclectic collection of items, that you will most likely chuckle and/or get a sense of nostalgia from the available items. If you are looking for a truly unique gift, this area is your one stop shop. The grocery area is my favorite. The vast amount of Japanese and German items available for purchase makes me sooo happy! I don't have to go online and pay exorbitant shipping fees for stuff, because it is all RIGHT HERE! Goodies from other nationalities are available too, as well as wine, beer, soda and coffee. They also sell things like decorative pillows, artwork, kitchen supplies, and jewelry. A little something for everybody, you never know what you'll find! 13/2024

I was resolving all the unfinished drafts this day Having seen commercials on television, had I paid any attention as fully indoctrinated and conditioned American consumer is expected to, I might've known already. But the only conditioning I accept is the Pantene in my hair. But because I am a card carrying owner of a revolutionary devise that allows time shifting, a DVR, I can nearly eliminate the propaganda administered to the masses via the Slave Commerce and Religion Enhancer Device. (SCARED) aka what else? Your television. Now that I managed to somehow find a place for that little smug, amusing (to me) and revealing (to few) tidbit, I shall express my great JOY! T J Maxx has really cool stuff for the wanna be home chefs and all forms of other really neat widgets and the likes. Scored for a very reasonable fee, a Instant Pot duo ($99) with the air fryer lid for significantly less than what I bought myself last summer. This one is going to be my little sisters upcoming birthday gift. Don't tell her, she doesn't read my Yelps, so I know this isn't going to be a spoiler. For myself I scored a large bottle of my favorite Ghost Pepper sauce, I have the grocery store bottle in the cupboard at home, but this is like the COSTCO size, but the same price as the regular stores littler size. And a Viking 8" induction skillet. Less than $20 1/3 list. Happy happy Joy joy. I don't think anyone says that anymore. What ever happened to Ren and Stimpy? They were better than the new versions of distasteful cartoons for chemically impaired adults, imo.

As I walk in I see it's clean and bright through the produce/fresh section and I can see the deli in back and both cases are full. As I walked around I noticed the shelfs were being restocked and all the shelf's full and the fresh meat department looked good. The deli was full of meats and cheeses and I saw something different, I wanted different and they had pastrami but it was turkey pastrami and I got some. I found everything on my list and then some and some items my Walmart was out of on a previous visit. This is one of the better Walmart stores in the greater Milwaukee area and I wish my Walmart was more like this one.

Headed in for a throw-pillow and that's all we left with (can you believe it!?). This home store has everything from trendy furniture, rugs, and lamps, to storage, decor, and kitchenware. The prices are spectacular so it's perfect when you need a little home-refresh. We're also currently in the market for outdoor furniture, something they also offer. There were a few options we say that were really great quality -- heavily debating going back to purchase. Love the rocking chair and table set, as it's very modern. The store itself is clean and well-kept. I suppose you could call it organized, though there are just so many items it can feel a little chaotic. Definitely can take some time to pick through and find gems. I'll be back!
