This is a well-stocked but MESSY Dollar Tree that has a good selection of things to buy, but not as good as the location on Campbell Ave. in Campbell. Today I bought a few things here and I found everything I was looking for, but my Mom didn't and was complaining that this Dollar Tree never has EVERYTHING she looks for like the one on Campbell Ave. does. I could only agree with her but it's neither here nor there, everything is still a dollar at Dollar Tree, and that is the good thing about these stores! On the plus side it seems like every Dollar Tree I go to is now carrying 16 oz. cans of soda, especially Coke and Fanta Orange. A BIG PLUS IN MY BOOK. I was looking for the coin wrappers to roll up my jar full of changes to go up to Reno for our friend's bachelor party. My first instinct was to go to the dollar store. So I went to the Dollar Tree on Winchester first, but no luck. Then I found this Dollar Tree on Camden, so I drove there. WOW, this one is much bigger than the Winchester one, so my hopes were high. I walked up and down each isles, finding stuffs along the way that I "could" use someday but no immediate need for them. 1 hour later, still no coin wrapper. By this time I was so desperate that I didn't mind paying more than $1 for the coin wrappers. So I went to Walgreens nearby, and ahhh.... so close! I found the product description on the shelf but no actual wrappers!Doesn't anyone roll the change anymore? I gave up for the night and went home empty handed. But by the next day, I was totally obsessed with getting the damn coin wrappers. No matter how much it was I am going to get some. I knew what I was looking for and I've seen them before! Agh! It was so frustrating. So I hit the CVS and another Walgreens location. Nothing. At the Target, I asked the store clerk and they said they used to but don't carry them anymore. AGGGGGGGH! Not to mention that this whole trip was costing me too much time and money as I stop at other stores along the way and buy things that were not in my agenda! As the last result, I went to my bank. I heard they give out some but they only give you so many. I walked up to the teller and she totally hooked me up! I counted 120 penny, 40 dime and 50 quarter wrappers. Ahhhh! Why I didn't stop here first!? So, I am guessing I traveled about 50 miles in the past 2 days. A gallon of gas now is now about $2.89 and my car is averaging 13 miles/gallon in the city driving so this coin wrapper exploration cost me about $11.46. If I fill all the wrappers that I got from the bank it will be $760. And if I brought all of them to the Coinster, they will take 7% cut, which will be $53.20 (and that is if I had all $760 in change). So after all I could say that my trip was worth a while, instead of utilizing the Coinster service. So back to my Dollar Tree review, I saw some useful stuff such as 3M brown shipping papers, pack of pens and seasonal items such as Christmas ornaments, gift bags, papers, ribbons and plastic cups, papers etc. Just go walk around and see what you can find. The store is very messy and seems understaffed. I have visited twice and only one person was at the counter each time. They were two different men and very polite and courteous. I went in for 2 specific items and only found one of those two items. I will go back because of how nice the people were and I want to support their business/ jobs. After ten minutes one employee walked up looked at the line and said "maybe I need to check".at that point the line was down to eleven. Got some great managers letting this go on. Old run-down Dollar Tree with a rumbling AC that can be heard within the whole store. Another thing was vanishing cashiers. Imagine your stuff layed out on the conveyer, and the cashier suddenly leaves you without informing you that they will go on break. It is a dollar store. I love walking around these stores and just browsing all the weird things you see. I actually went to this store in search of nail polish to see what they offered and they had my favorite brand SinFul Colors for a dollar each and they had a bunch of colors I did not yet own. The first time we went here we left without purchasing because the line was so long and I just don't have patience for that. I went back the next morning and bought my selections. I will return here eventhough I hate their parking lot - and people do not know how to drive in it either. read more

Never in my life have I seen a Dollar store with a freezer section! How fantastic- eggs for a dollar. What I am most interested in trying is the tilapia stuffed with scallops. Seafood for a dollar- let's just say I have a stomach of steel so we shall see. My absolute favorite item from here is the Lousiana Buffalo Sauce. No joke I am addicted to buffalo wings, dip, pizza, etc. Anything with buffalo and this i BY FAR the best sauce I have ever had. I cook with it and can easily get three full meals (for 3 people each) with just one bottle and at $1 that is a steal. I highly recommend it. read more

i wasn't expecting much from this Dollar Tree location. Most of the Dollar Tree stores in the South Bay are not the the best reflection of the chain (Or, maybe, they are, hmm...). Anyway, I was at the store on a Friday- July 12th at 12:30. The store was clean. Broken merchandise was not strewn at this place either (Okay, was I back at the Medford store?). I found some things that I needed, and made a donation to the school drive, too. Adriane, the cashier, was nice to me, something I find as a rare commodity in the retail world these days, budget or high end store. It wasn't like the Santa Clara or Sunnyvale stores on El Camino. Most other reviews talk about long lines, and I agree--the lines for this Dollar store is slow and long with only 1 cashier. But to be fair, everyone is buying a thousand little things and spending only abut $20. The cheaper the items, the lower the profits for this store, which means less money for more workers. It's just how it is. The store feels "older" compared to other dollar stores, and the isles/shelves are randomly empty/full. Nicer Dollar Tree I've been to. Carpeted floors makes it less dirty feeling and the store is larger than most. Huge seasonal section which is always nice if you're known for those big house parties!! Lots of seasonal decor, party plates/utensils, toys, nicknacks, etc. Fairly large food section if that's up your ally. For me not so much but I thought I'd include this in the review. Half a wall for frozen/refrigerated food which I though was impressive for a Dollar Tree. And of course lots of rows of boxed food items. I typically go to Dollar Stores for any DIY craft supplies I may need like picture frames, poster paper, scotch tape, stickers... Lots you can find for any DIY craft! They have a pretty decent selection of office supplies, great for teachers. Note pads, binder clips, thumb tacks, "good job" stickers.. You name it! All together it's a nicer Dollar Tree. If you're looking for quick DIY crafting supplies this may be your spot! read more

I hadn't really been to the dollar store until recently. With teaching I need cheap prizes to give away and a lot of stickers. So when I was told to find a dollar store, I ended up here. It has plenty of parking in this large shopping center, it's easy to find. So in I go and I'm pretty happy at how organized and clean this place was. The isles are clean, the shelves are organized and I can find everything pretty easy. From the toy isle, to teachers aid, to lots of random stuff I find myself pretty happy. I left with: Stickers Glow sticks Bracelets Yo yo Pencils Jump rope Snacks Etc Etc So I always leave happy and the kids I teach seem pretty happy too! Pretty good overall and I will be back for sure. I am a very understanding and patient person, I've worked in retail and I even worked at this very Dollar Tree for a few months so I know just how hard it is and how rude and obnoxious costumers can be but there was no excuse for how impatient, disrespectful, and rude the cashier was to the two costumers in front of me the other day. The cashier's name is Bill, and he needs to either be fired or at least be in a different position where he NEVER interacts with costumers. He literally had 0 patience. I purposefully was super fast, paying with credit card and pushing the buttons as soon as they appeared on the screen, but he still said, "push the green button, PUSH THE GREEN BOTTON. I love this dollar tree store since it is always so organized compared to the ones I live by. I like the fact that they have so many items there. I was able to buy so many things for my baby the other day. I even bought her a super cute swim suit and adorable headbands. Everything so worth it there. First of all, it is a dollar tree...so you can't really expect everything to be high quality which is totally cool. But the only one problem I had with this store was that there's usually only like 1 person working at the cash register when there is like 20 people waiting in line. That is the only reason why I try not to go to this store because every time I go to buy something I have to wait in line for like 15 minutes. Also one time I was buying some stuff and I totally forgot I had to buy one other thing. I asked the lady at the cash register if I could just grab something real quick while she rang up the other things. She was being a b*$#! and said that I couldn't. She gave me a dirty look. You can find huge savings on party favors, teaching supplies, toys, groceries, greeting cards, gift bags and even basic household supplies! I have had it with this Dollar Tree. The lines are always long. Employees walk around refusing to help ring (today, one was too busy watching Netflix, I am not kidding). The manager seems to care less about lazy employees telling the only cashier open to "hurry it up" while at least four other employees seemed to be seriously watching Netflix (I could hear them talking in the break room and could see them peak out at the line and laugh). If this was the first time this had happened I would be irritated, but get over it. This is now a regular occurrence. The cheap selection of items is just not worth the hassle. So I just got out of the dollar tree and can I just say that the two cashiers working Saturday at noon around 12pm were really sweet. I would always come here every week in 2010 when money was tight and I always had a pleasant experience. Now that I am back to living in this area I been here a couple times and the cashiers have been wonderful. I would have gotten their names but I wasn't planning on writing this review. they were good sports specially today. I came to the dollar tree and I shopped around. When it was time to pay there was a pretty long line. There was one cashier because one was on break which I understand employees need a break ITS THE LAW. With that said there were older guests who were at least middle aged or older who were absolutely rude to them who were acting as if they were 10 years old. Don't know how they gone through decades of life acting like that. It was embarrassing to watch how they were acting I must say. but yet the cashiers were still sweet and kept their cool. Like to anyone who is going to complain how the lines are long yes I agree the lines are long but it's not the cashiers fault that they don't schedule enough people. The dollar tree has really good gems for a $1. This is one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Want shorter lines we'll go to target and go through the self checkout lane the lines can be way shorter there but not everything is a $1. You may have to pay a little more for similar products. There is no need to be rude to the employees. San Jose being so expensive I'm sure management has to keep a short hand to continue to charge $1 prices and afford to run a business. So if you want $1 prices be prepared to wait a long line that's just life. You have to compromise. $1 prices long line or higher prices and shorter lines and half the time higher prices still come with a long line. So again shout out to the cashiers for acting professional. read more

Really, this is the worst store ever. Never enough cashiers, and the ones that are working I feel bad for, they are clearly stressed out by the lines! Second time I have waited in line for more than 10 minutes to be told HE HAD TO CLOSE TO GO DO SOMETHING! Today I walked out, crying kid and all because we did not get what we needed. I am not going to wait only to be told I have to go get in another line and wait AGAIN. You need better staffing during the rush times and you know that. Very rude staff, we probably wont be going back. There are always little things that come up when you shop at a place enough times, I get it. But theres also always one that breaks the camels back so to speak. Today was it. We saw 3 lanes open, 2 were backed up so went to the 3rd where it was just one person finishing up. When we put our 5-6 items down the clerk informed me that I would have to wait at the end of the two other lines, and that she had to help those who had been in line already. This is not one of those where one main line splits into each register as needed, it's one line for one register like most places. After being slightly confused by that nonsense, I proceeded to say OK and get in the long line. The fact none of the 3 had lights on to indicate they are open didnt help things either. As soon as the lady finished with the people who had been waiting, 3 people who had just walked up to the registers got in her line, and were then able to purchase their goods. I spoke up and this is how the convo went: Me: excuse me, why did I have to get in this long line, which has now stopped, when those people didnt have to? Clerk: I had to help the people who were in line first Me: yes I get that, but now I am one of those people and youre not asking me to come over like you do with the others. Why am I still in line when people who just walked up are finishing in your lane now? Guy behind me who didn't see any of it go down yet has an opinion: you could have gotten behind them Lady in from of me at slow register who was also denied service by the same clerk for the same reason: no, she wouldn't let us! Meanwhile its taking the lady at my register 10 mins to ring up the lady in front of me who spoke up. I didnt finish until 2 more people had gone through lane 3 where I was told I couldn't go. Again I had like 5 items, and in the end it took 20 minutes to checkout. Forget this place, pay the extra $0.30 and go to big lots for twice the amount of product... read more

This is a very clean dollar store compared to others out there. Whenever I come here, I tend to always get a toy for my dog. He loves toys that squeaks and this place carries a bunch of them! The candy and chip isle are great with many varieties. Sneak them into the movie theaters and you got yourself a party without paying a fortune. You can't go wrong with $1 greeting cards here. They are up to date with the holidays and they restock them frequently. read more

Large shared parking lot so parking should not be an issue. This store has FOUR doors, but 3 are "exit only". What's the point. Not super clean inside but they have the basic offerings per the norm. This Dollar Tree is the best in the San Jose area. It is kept clean & stocked. You see big savings on school & office supplies, gift wrapping options, and even items for gardening including organic potting soil. I get my cat litter there because it's just plain clay gravel litter, nothing added, no chemicals or perfumes. My cats actually prefer it as I've tried many high end brands. Honestly, it's surprising some of the items they have from time to time. I can't give 5 stars though as they NEVER & I do mean NEVER, have enough people at checkout. There is almost always a long line unless you're lucky to be there when others aren't, which doesn't happen often. Last week when I picked up cat litter, there were over 20 people waiting in one long line! Truth! I counted & then I went up to the cashier & asked if they could please call someone else to open up another register. After the death of my beloved dog, I had to return his remaining cans of Gravy Train to this Dollar Tree. I told them about my situation and was initially told that I could exchange it for merchandise. So I went and picked out enough merchandise to cover the cost of the dog food. I returned to the check stand. That's when my emotional roller coaster began. After having already experienced the loss of my pet, I had to endure the foolishness of this store. They had me stand at a closed register while they went back and forth with a resounding game of "Yes we'll take it back, no we won't." After about 4 rounds of this lovely game, they decided that they would take it back, but only give me a penny a can. I asked them why and they told me that the food had been discontinued. I told them in that case I would just keep it and give it to a friend. That's when the manager finally told me that I couldn't give it to a friend because it had been recalled and should not have been on the shelf. That's when I realized, much to my horror, that that's probably what killed my dearly loved pet. These people do not even have the decency to offer condolences and exchange this lethal dog food to be returned to the manufacturer. I would rather throw it out myself! read more
