We walked into the store and the "manager," who then backtracked and said that they were only the "assistant manager" had started to argue with us about it instead of taking feedback about maybe training employees on phone etiquette. Love this place!! I've been here many times before but I felt inspired to write a review because of my experience today. I went to the store with a list and left with many things I didn't know I needed (as it always goes). When I went to check out, the line was very long with only a single checkstand open. This gave me the opportunity to see the cashier Jasmine interact with many customers. She was always pleasant, kind, and was able to ring people up efficiently while still taking the time to give each person their due attention. I was really impressed by her professional and warm demeanor! Older gentleman super nice and great to have had a quick conversation with. I came here because it was super close to my boyfriend's work and i needed some DIY supplies for christmas presents! AND CHEAP WRAPPING PAPER!! (good because people throw them away anyways...) this store is suuuuper small compared to the ones that ive been to before. It's not that organized, especially when you walk in. pretty cramped. The christmas section is kinda off to the side, and omg, parts of the products there were trashed! ): so sad. they didnt even clean it up! NEGATIVE STARS!! Went to this Dollar Tree to get balloons for my moms birthday. The guy working in front pointed me to a wall and I went to find balloons when a lady who works there SANDY came up to me and said "this is all we have." I recently went here to get a few items and found it a depressing place to shop. There is a large group of homeless that hang out at the front of the store. When I went inside I found they were extremely low on stock here on just about everything. It was just sad. I love shopping at Dollar Tree stores for the bargains especially on the basics but this store does not even compare to any of the other Dollar Tree stores in the Bay Area. Wow, my first time at a Dollar Store and I was impressed! I needed some various party supplies for a baby shower I'm helping throw, and a friend recommended this store to me. Very close to my house, and easy to go to in the evening when the parking lot isn't filled with Scramblz patrons. I was suprirsed by their selection and of course, all for a buck each! Picked up some decorations, baby boy napkins, and tablecloths. Brought my mom the next day for some party bowls for a BBQ we're throwing, and she was thoroughly impressed as well! This is my neighborhood Dollar Tree, unfortunately it isn't one of the better ones. I used to work in the Alum Rock area and was spoiled by the organization and HUGENESS of the McKee store. This one is often REALLY messy (I mean, they all are but this one is usually just trashed!). It is in a congested parking area so it can be difficult to get a spot, especially on the weekend. Dollar Tree in general is a great stop especially for broke teacher like me. You get what you pay for. Don't expect awesomeness but eh, what do expect for things made by enslaved 7 year olds.... She over heard me say that I was going to check the other dollar tree store for an item I wanted and she asked me what I was looking for and came out with a box of them. This store has a great selection. Unfortunately no employee keeps up with the store. You would expect it would be clean enough to walk through the store. 99.9% of the time it is a complete reck. Its the type of store were you want to get your item and get out. Poor service, managers are slow responders for a back up cashier. Its usually 2 people in the store. I wish they would have more employees on the floor cleaning up. The bathrooms are vandalized and completely dirty. Also be careful some food may be expired at this store. read more

It's also easy to stock up on essential household items like notebooks, sponges, duct tape, paper towels and bungee cords. I'm not adventurous enough to buy food here. But if you don't believe in expiration dates, shop away. Scramblz is in the same shopping center--so while you're waiting for breakfast, you can browse through aisles of imported carcinogens. Located really close to the freeway 85 so that's convenient, just jump off real quick grab a few things and keep moving. Working with children I need to get a lot of little prizes and goodie bags and things here and there for projects and with everything being a dollar I'd say it's pretty great, budget friendly. Customer service: I would say there is very minimal interaction between employees and customers...in all of the times I have visited I only spoken to them at the register and like the basic stuff like, would you like a bag? I love $ Tree but this ones is kinda jacked. Its pretty much always a mess, but they have a decent variety of stuff. Of course not as much as the Campbell store cuase its much smaller. But they always have the baby wipes I'm looking for, yummy snacks, beef jerky, 3 liters of Shasta and 5 packs of Big Red gum! BF & I went in tonite and the cashier Tammy was THE BEST! Really, people? It's a Dollar Tree! This one is my favorite by far (not like I've been to many) as it has everything that I specifically go to purchase. Namely, a great cleaning supply selection, gift wrapping items, cards, and picture frames. I've never found it to be messy or excessively dirty and it's my go to for the aforementioned. That being said, I go maybe two to three times a year only. The weekend before Christmas, I swung by to pick up gift wrapping items. The store was neat, and the Christmas items were well organized. Gift boxes were mostly in packages of 2-3 depending on size for only a dollar, and gift bags were similarly priced. This is a huge discount compared to stores like Target or even Michael's, so I suggest you check this place out first for your holiday wrapping needs. They also have a wide variety of gift tags and gift labels for a buck. There was a ton of great little holiday knickknacks also, for coworkers or to serve as stocking stuffers. I was tempted to buy a musical holiday necktie for next year's ugly sweater contest, but decided against it. I also randomly found some DVDs here for a buck and they were fairly new releases (2011 to current). They weren't the greatest flicks, but I grabbed a bunch for my dad. The cashiers have always been pleasant, and while the lines can be long, I've seen them open additional registers to accommodate shoppers. Highly recommended for gift wrapping boxes on the cheap. P.S. Entering from Almaden Expressway is a pain, so enter via Cherry Avenue for less of a hassle. read more

I will say this dollar tree facility is usually kept very clean and usually the shelf are well stocked with item. I know they do changes items from time to time, but you can always find something you need here. The Staff is friendly and helpful if you ask, but again going in to this store is not like walking to to Macy's at Valley Fair. Stopped here with the husband the other day. He had never been to the Dollar Tree and I have never been to this location. So disappointed here though. Not all Dollar Trees are created equal it seems. This one is small compared to the one in Campbell that I visit. They didn't have half of the tacky things that the other Dollar Tree has. It was just not the same experience. However, they did have some of the freshest Good & Plenty you could ever hope to buy. And the husband got several pairs of reading glasses (he loses everything so cheap ones are good!) here. Was going to give 3 stars but took one off for the unfriendly cashier that loved to chat with the guy in front of me but then all conversation ceased as soon as I stepped up. Huh? If your on a budget and want to cut costs on toothpaste, soap, cleaning supplies, misc kitchen utensils, x-mas gift wrapping, b-day, etc.... this is the place to get those and related items. $1 each, can't beat that. You will pay double + in the grocery store for name brand toothpaste which is what they carry here. Just one example. Basically, the store is good for daily non edible consumable items. I'd stay away from the food items as a lot are off brands that I have never heard of. Guess it would be like getting generic drugs? Safeway is basically across the street and the new Whole Foods is 3 minutes away for basic groceries. (Trader Joe's and Costco is also a few minutes away) Don't expect to see a well run efficient store here, there may be stuff in the isles and boxes lying around, etc..... This is my least favorite dollar tree. the employees seem burned out, the bathroom is beyond sketchy, it's old and run down. This is in a shopping center near la victoria, scramblez, etc. they appear to have had two bathrooms in the past, but now one is solely for employees, leaving two blue signs, one for each gender, on the remaining bathroom. that would be fine... if the bathroom locked, which it doesnt. therefore, as a female, you walk in past a filthy urinal to get to the stall. the soap dispenser has no lid, the tp isn't on the dispenser, etc. I know this is a discount store, but, ugh. My client loves dollar trees, but she can spend hours here. I was exhausted one day, while she was perusing the band-aids for the umpteenth time this month. I sat down on the ground,out of the way of any foot traffic. An employee came over and told me I am not allowed to sit. I understand if that is the policy, maybe they have an issue with transient loiterers. nonetheless, it was a bit of a turn off. I really avoid coming here whenever possible. read more

Absolutely filthy store with junk thrown all over the floor. You cannot get down the aisles with all the stuff down there. Things were opened up and tossed back on the shelves too. I always go here to get party supplies, decorations, cards (way cheaper than hallmark), gift wrap, gift bags, water, soda, chips etc. You get what you pay for on most items so if you want it to last forever, don't buy it here.
