I try my best to not come to this location but today I had to stop to grab something. It's just always understaffed, messy and majority of the shelves are empty. I find it somewhat ironic that The Dollar Store is in the heart of La Cantera / The RIM considering how pricey everything else is around the area. Yet in times of need, discount stores like Dollar Tree have been the saving grace for affordability in just about anything. And while it's true that it won't be a true dollar store anymore, I don't think it'll stop me from going there often. It's not a large Dollar Tree, but it's big enough to have a lot of everything. I give them high marks for keeping the store relatively tidy and ensuring that most things are where they're supposed to be. The staff is nice for the most part and I appreciate the fact they still blow up semi-quality balloons for a fraction of the price elsewhere. This still remains my go-to store for school and office supplies. Any other store would charge $5 for a pen, where as you can get a sack of them here for just about a dollar. (#1) The same goes for seasonal dishware, greeting cards, giftwrap, and the occasional jug of water. The parking is less abundant than one might think for this corner of the strip mall lot. This part of the lot is almost always full. I might get lucky on occasion by being right in front of the store, I wouldn't put it past me to have to park several doors down just to get a spot. _____________ (#1) Subject to change of course. For being on the nice side of town within the La Cantera shopping area you think it would be a little better quality but the stuff there is never as good as the one on Gilbeau rd and the lines seem to always go on forever. read more

Dollar tree on San Pedro avenue.... I went to check it out because it's supposed to be the biggest one in San Antonio... (I am a dollar tree fan ) wow it was not great ... the store was a mess... empty shelves everywhere ... things thrown on the floor... it was musty smelling as well... the parking lot was dirty.... I would like to think I went on an off day but it was a weekday at 1 in the afternoon...I was super disappointed in this specific store... maybe your experience will be better... but maybe you might have one closer to you that's more organized and clean... it makes the experience much more fun that way.... Jenna, a tall (I think she/he was Africa American) was extremely rude and asked me if I was going to pay for my ZBAR granola bar that y'all dint even carry! I also had a cucumber Gatorade in my purse that I was drinking while shooing and asked me to scan that. I understand that perhaps customers shouldn't be eating or drinking while shopping because it might look like they took that from the store but when I told her or him that I did not get it from the store he insisted or she insisted, and I told the person no and asked if they had those two products that I would be more than happy to buy some and she he said yes, so in another person walked up, a using man w ratios and seems African American, he was very polite and said no we don't carry those. What are you talking about? So he definitely knew his stuff and was very courteous, but Jenna should be fired. She's extremely unprofessional and does not know how to stop.. he she even started charging me for the items from the next person that he she had to turn around and give me a refund which I was already even more mad. He should definitely be fired or just put in the back cleaning toilets because he she is not up to par for communicating with customers as social skills were completely absent. read more

The most disgusting unorganized dollar tree I have ever seen. I've tried to shop there 5 times and every time there is only one extremely slow cashier that obviously doesn't care about customer service (sorry your bad life decisions lead you to this line of work). There's always a long line going all the way down the aisle. I always give up and walk out. I don't know why I keep trying. I'd rather pay five times more for something anywhere else. read more

I've been to this location a few times now and have enjoyed coming here. There is a bunch of parking (even though they share parking with the other stores surrounding them). This store is on the average side. I enjoy going to this Dollar Tree because it's well organized and it's pretty easy to find the items that you're looking for. This store is also well stocked (especially with newer items they get in). The people that work here are pretty nice and they seem to constantly be stocking and organizing this store. I have spent a lot of my time going around this store and always come out with more than I go in for! I love coming here for my crafting items and for the holiday items that they have. I would recommend giving yourself some time to walk around the store and come early. I have found that they have more items in stock on Mondays, so if you're able to visit on a Monday morning, you'd be able to find more items in stock. I'm happy to have been able to go to this Dollar Tree and get the majority, if not all, of the crafting items that I need for my new crafting ideas. I would highly recommend going to this location if you're finding a need to go to a Dollar Tree location and just want to find items that you may not believe you need, but will find that you want. read more

Man, I LOVE Dollar Tree!! Literally, EVERYTHING is a dollar or less, unlike Family Dollar or Dollar General. This location is well stocked and constantly has new merchandise that changes with the seasons. You can find some great steals and deals here! Well what else can you say it's a Dollar Tree. Kind of difficult to review, the products are always rotating. You'll find the basics and sometimes will be pleasantly surprised to find some gems. Over all most are pretty messy as was the case for this location. read more
