Checking out some birthday and Easter stuff
    Sheree H.

I really like this Dollar Tree by Sac City college. The location in midtown was closed permanently so this is the closest one to me. Today I wanted to check out their Easter stuff and pick up some birthday cards for a party this weekend. They always have great seasonal items in stock! I was able to find some good candy, cute birthday cards, gift bag and refreshments. You can find the tall cans 16oz of soda and bottled Snapple (my fave) Bunch of cute DIY Easter goodies, baskets and decor filled the isles. Organized and clean making it easy to find what you want or need. Plenty of gift giving ideas as well. I don't really venture into the food section as that is very low quality. I do get the name brand candy bars like Hershey's and Reese's. The ladies at both cashiers were nice and greeted us with a smile, even complimented my gbaby. My gbaby picked out a cheap Barbie doll, she loves them and probably has them all! The legs will fall off but it's only $1.25 so why not? It'll keep her entertained for the evening. Workers are always talkative, helpful and nice. I come to this location often.

Because she's always looking for something from the dollar store.

This Dollar Tree Store is pretty big, but what I like about it is, it sells different items from the other Dollar stores. I like the stuff they sell here. The only time I come here is if I'm looking for something that I can't find at one of the dollar stores that I normally go to. I like this store, its extremely clean compared to the other stores. It is very well organized and bright and it easy to find what you're looking for. The employees are cool. They are really professional and don't do a lot of talking with the customers, so the wait is never long to check out. The parking lot is a nice size, but with the other businesses around it gets busy and sometimes it hard to find parking. There are homeless people that hang out around the store, but their just sitting looking at the people. I came in the store looking for one item in particular (Just ONE). And I'm leaving here $30 bucks short. These Dollar stores are like some kind of drug, lol. But I mean that literally. It takes nothing to get addicted to this place. Its like I can't say no!! I feel like I be needing everything I see in here. So today's truth is I had more than the $30. bucks worth of stuff, I put quite a bit of the stuff back before I reached the register. smh. I must say tho, I've noticed that this store along with the other Dollar stores I go to don't sell a lot of those refrigerator item they used too. Those have changed a lot over the years. Less to choose from is what I see. My observation! But there are those times you can find some cool items here, like they have really neat bowls and platters and stuff like that if you're having a party and don't want to mess up to many of your own dishes. You can throw them away or wash them and keep them for another time. And they change up, with different styles from time to time. I have decided I'm going to be coming here a lil more. Time to change up. I think someone in my home goes to the dollar store at lease one to twice a week.. We love the Dollar Store. ...

It was a young lady in there. I asked the security if it was OK for me to take my bags and leave my bags at the front he said I had a choice I could or I could take him. I took him at the end when I was finished and I went up to the front I told the young lady I have my Burlington bags in here and I have my receipt. I got the permission from the security guard. The lady looked at my receipt and looked like she had to think. Why would you double look at my receipt and take forever like you had to look at every item holding up the line. I swear I hate this CD they make you feel uncomfortable. Yeah it's not the best neighborhood it's on Stockton Boulevard. I don't know they mistaken me as a hooker at these little hookers that be still in here is really jacked up Another thing that's funny. She act like she act like I was like I was gonna take something. why would I come in there and I head over to $300 worth of stuff and I showed her my receipt and it made me feel like you know I wanted to really return my shit back because I was very upset about that so Mrs Macy said oh I'm sorry that you had to deal with that and I hope I hope you have a better day it's just really sad you spend money and you get treated the way you do I would never do that to a customer of mine. I'd rather go to the one on Mac Road in Florence. They don't do that. They let you take your bags in and this even worse over there. They just they make you feel they make you feel very comfortable on at the ones on Mac Road in Florence they make you feel really welcome in there. They're really nice and stuff this one I used to like it but I guess I have to take my business elsewhere but that's really jacked up and her name starts with a C she sits in the front some Latino lady and I'm not racist cause my husband is Latino but it's very rude is very great in the way how they treat you there. It's really you need to go practice your customer service or at least know how to read so you can see a Burlington bag and a receipt that says be on there, but I don't know what happened. Excuse me. I don't know what happened with the customer service.

However, Josie was extremely pushy about getting me to open a Marshalls/TJX credit card. I politely said "no thank you" multiple times during the first transaction -- probably around 10 times -- but she continued bringing it up throughout the second and third transactions as well. I understand employees are probably encouraged to promote the credit card, but once a customer clearly says no, it should be respected. Being asked repeatedly made the checkout experience uncomfortable and frustrating. If you don't shop at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or HomeGoods often, I would also think carefully before opening another store credit card just for the checkout discount. 3/5 stars. Friendly service, but the repeated credit card pressure really took away from the experience.

When you walk in there is a sign on the door that says if an item doesn't have a tag then you can't buy it. And there is a security guard at the front door. I found lots of good deals. The most expensive item I bought was a winter coat for $17.23. It was in a size small and it fit perfect. It has a mickey mouse motif and mickey ears attached. I found a Las Vegas Raiders jersey, boys XL, which fit me perfect $12.92. It was new with out tags. I also found a SF Giants T Shirt that looked new. I found some other black tops, long and short sleeve. I found the cutest red minnie mouse sweatshirt but it was too short, too back because it was perfect. They also have lots of more expensive items mixed in. Such as Kings and Giants Jerseys. All well over $35. Compared to the teams stores it's still a good deal, but out of my price range for this shopping spree. These items are cheaper at the Goodwill Bootique in downtown Sacramento. I know because I've purchased several jerseys there. Everything is well organized by size and type of merchandise. They have long racks of clothing and a good variety of sizes. They have a rack of short sleeve tops, another rack of long sleeve tops, dresses, formal dresses, jackets, athletic tops, ect. Everything is so well sorted. They have colored tags on the merchandise. Each day they have different sales depending on the color of the tags 25%, 50%, and 75%. I only had a couple of the 25% off items. For those 2 items I saved $5.07. So for 5 items I paid $46.31. On average $9.26 each. Not a bad day Thrifting. Checkout is all self-serve. It's quite odd, but they have a lot of registers and someone helping out. They graciously took my coat and found a tag on it without me asking, which was great because I didn't even see it. I did see it on the Raiders jersey I bought and they removed that after I scanned it in to pay for it. They also have some new merchandise by the entrance of the store, those are not so good deals.
