However, unlike Big Lots, they have no furniture here. The prices here are pretty reasonable, but they're actually a little higher than Goodwill. And just like Ross, it should be pointed out that checking out takes just as long.

I went into DDs Discounts today, this was my first time shopping in the store. i spent 165$ , not realizing I hadn't had enough money for my purchases in my bank, the charge covered was 120$ after running my debit card, there was a remaining balance of 46$ I naturally wanted to put back some items, I hadn't had enough cash on me to cover the remaining balance, instead of the cashier taking off items, she refused to take off items, stated they don't do that at this store.. I was baffled because I never heard of that, I don't shop often.. the manager JESSICA MEDINA walks up and first thing she says is " first off loose the tone.. " she directed that at me, mind you I had no tone, I was just simply trying to figure out how to complete the transaction ... they actually had me leave the store, without anything... I kinda felt robbed at this point because I just ran my debit card for 120$ had no receipt of purchase no merchandise ... I went home without the items, to go get the remaining balance. I live 1.5 miles away from the store I went back to finish the transaction I did complete my purchases... later that evening at 9pm I look at my receipt I was charged for everything on the receipt.... I noticed I'm missing items. I went back to the store again... they had my missing items stuffed behind counter. My question is why were they taken out!! I had to go back again to retrieve these items at 920pm... my question is why were these items taken out?? they knew I was going back to finish the transaction!!!!! they even said they will hold the items behind the counter until I return with remaining money owed...the items were already placed all together in a very large plastic bag... I watched as the cashier rangup my items and placed them into the bag... I actually left the store went home to get cash for the remaining balance owed since they couldn't take off items , I went back and the Lady manager JESSICA MEDINA was rude yet again to me . I don't understand how I am in the wrong??? all I was trying to do was complete the transaction.. This lady Manager JESSICA has the worst customer service skills. She's rude, and disrespectful, short tempered, and literally walks around the store like she's the absolute shit.. lady you got one thing right you are shit!! Rubbish!! Horrible!!!! when I walked into the store that afternoon I even told the front staff it was my first time shopping at DDs Discounts i was very bubbly and polite i was happy and excited about finding a new inexpensive place to shop... I left feeling very confused, I felt robbed and disrespected.... I will never shop there again, I might consider going back if management changes, but I'll have no way of knowing that unless I go back... and after this experience... I doubt I will...

It's full of Asian snacks and skincare, dishes, calendars, toys, stationary, etc. Everything is priced fairly cheap- it's surprisingly affordable! You do have to read the pricing key to understand the price of all items but they're posted almost everywhere so there's very little confusion! The store is a good size but the isles are very narrow so prepare to run a couple shoulders when passing through.

I went through getting my fill of the store, looking at random new to me items and getting the few things I needed, cutting board sheets, cards and sink screen catchers, looked passed the pens, activity books and holiday decorations but heres the best part of this experience......the checkout, I mean the lady working there at checkout, receipt name says "Patrice". She was incredible, she was kind, sweet and genuine in what she said to me. I was having a tough day on all levels, maybe she sensed that or she is just a beautiful person that gets it. Somehow, she easily used her words to express to me that all it takes is a moment, a few words of encourgament to make someones whole day and better yet feel visible in a very invisible world. Her words meant a lot to me in that moment and here I am sharing it.....hoping that others who read this may know that kindness comes in many forms, and it can be spread anywhere and anytime, and you just don't realize what that impact can do to someone.

He replied, "We don't have any pennies." There was no sign explaining that, and he should have told me before keeping the difference. I don't care that it was only two cents--it's the principle. He simply turned away and helped the next customer. As I walked to the car with my family I told my wife I was irritated that this guy didn't even say anything and had an attitude about my money no matter how much it is. She asked what I wanted to do, and I said, "I want to take this back and just get my money back." She said ok. I returned to the store and asked the manager, who was blowing up balloons for another customer, if I could return the item. She said yes and sent me to the same register. So I waited back in line and when I got to the register, I told the Asian guy that I wanna return this item and gave him the item and receipt and he gave me $2.95. I said, "What are you doing? I want all of my money back." Again, he said, "We don't have any pennies." I replied, "I gave you $3. I want my $3 back!" He called the manager over with a smug attitude. I explained what had happened, and she repeated, "Well, we don't have any pennies." I told her, "I don't care if you don't have any pennies. I handed him $3. I want my $3 back." So now she has an attitude, took back the change, went into the register and gave me my dollar. Apparently, basic math and customer service are both difficult at this location. Since I stage homes for sell, I needed a few places to pick up some staging items on the cheap. My work keeps me mostly North so I decided to drop into the Storehouse Thrift store in Round Rock. When you walk in, it looks like a major dump, but you're instantly greeted by this super cool, friendly, red-headed man with a loud voice. Be warned that no pricing is marked so you have to ask said man for the prices. He just makes it up as he goes along. You don't even have to be dressed shabbily for him to give you a great deal either! So, you can go in there and fill an entire bag full of books (good, old, hard-backed books donated by libraries) for like $2! I use books when I stage so it's nice to get them so inexpensively. The last house I decorated, I filled the guy's shelves with self-help and Christian books and did it for only $2 bucks. If you knew this guy you'd think that was really funny (the self help and Christian books, not that I only spent two dollars). You can also buy fake greenery for almost nuthin'! I send clients there all of the time to buy those large, silk, ficus trees for $5-$10. On occasion, you can even find some neat knick-knacks! I love me some knick-knacks. I would have to say this has become one of my favorite thrift stores. I mean, I still frequent Goodwill, but at least I can go into the Storehouse and not leave feeling like I have contracted lung cancer due to all of the second-hand smoke oozing from the pores of the staff. Plus, they do really great things with the money and it is local!

We were looking in the jewelry aisle for upcoming holidays and almost tripped on a shitzu that had wandered a bit from owner-yikes..then we went to the candles and almost backed over a small chihuahua that was not leashed.mom went to the ladies room and there was another small dog in the next stall leaving a dump on the floor..dog fatigue us getting frustratingly stressful. How did common sense and manners become a past life. Everyone welcomes REAL ADA service dogs in retail stores but these pets being brought in is ridiculous . We are into being in close spaces with other human beings; not having to avoid almost tripping over an emotional pet..I would never stress my dogs into being around strangers than leaving them at home where it's familiar/safe/non-triggered environment. Such a world of entitlement is childish to subject the public.
