I've been a loyal Costco Executive member since 2010. I've never experienced such poor customer service. We came on a busy Saturday and purchased a few items when the one item we came looking for was unavailable. We were checked out by a very pleasant and cordial Daniel. As we were exiting, front end employee Francois pointed out we had 8 items and only 7 on our receipt. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and directing us to customer service to pay for the item that Daniel had forgotten, he asked us to identify each item in the cart on the receipt as he checked it off. He told us to go back to the self checkout lines were the cashier hurriedly checked us out for the one item (and took some information about the missed item and cashier, presumably for QA). We went back thru the exit and Francois double checked we had the second receipt. No one apologized for the inconvenience for Costco's mistake. Instead, they made us feel like WE did something wrong. Better customer service would have been to apologize for inconvenience and then make the ring up process for the missing item as quick and painless as possible. read more

I'm do glad we have a Costco near by. My son and I make a whole trip out of it having pizza or a hot dog at the end of shopping. They usually run great deals on electronics and other useful items. This is an excellent Costco. All of the products inside are well laid out in the store is kept very clean. The employees are very helpful and very kind. I love walking through and getting the samples. The TV display always gets my husband's attention. They have such beautiful jewelry at such good prices. They have wonderful Christmas things out right now. They have a wonderful Christmas tree, trees and gifts. I bought myself two new Christmas wreaths and they were only $50 each. The checkers are very friendly and also very fast and expedient. I've never had to wait too terribly long in line. They have a pharmacy where you can get pet meds too! So now both me and my Dog get our prescriptions at the same place, lol. The pharmacy is also offering flu shots. They have clothes that are so reasonably priced and extremely nice. There's just something for everyone in this store! I highly recommend it. read more

I'm not sure why folks rated this Costco so low except to complain and grumble . The staff is wonderful, they are always friendly and helpful. My husband has used the hearing aid department and ordered hearing aides for under $1700 compared to his audiologist who wanted to charge $6,000! He loves them and the team was great with the hearing aid test and helping him pick the right ones. They spent extra time with him helping him adjust to life with hearing aides I went to the optical department with my prescription and ordered a prescription pair of sunglasses and regular glasses. I bought two pairs for under $275! Ann helped me out picking out sunglasses. She also told me about the deal of ordering one pair and getting the other pair with $50 off. Ann was very patient and thorough. Costco optical does take insurance. The entire optical staff was amazing! They are so friendly and helpful! Love love love Georgetown Costco!!! read more

Costco is the best and this one is no exception! Georgetown is always way less crowded than the Costco's in Austin or even in Cedar Park when I used to live there. It's a relatively new one so there is plenty parking (unless it's Sunday afternoon), and the layout is pretty standard. There are samples on the weekends and the workers are fun. I can usually find everything I need for my Costco runs, but when I go to Costco, I let Costco decide what I need. The gas is cheaper than the ones closer to Austin also, and there is always a pump available which is awesome. I enjoy coming to this Costco and will be back! read more

People either like it or the don't. I do. I like all the samples, so do the kiddos. They have a variety of everything from appliances to clothes, food and wine, and more. Everything is sold in bulk, and you do need a membership to shop. They have a gas station, that has better prices than any other gas stations. There is also a food court with hot dogs, pizza, soft serve ice cream and a few other options. The pizza is actually pretty decent. Only two options though, cheese, or pepperoni. At $10 for an "18, it's a steal. This is the perfect pizza option for a pizza party. Things not to like: need a membership (they scan it at the door and at the register), it is busy, closes at 6, nothing really under $10, so expect to drop a dime each time you visit. read more

Georgetown Costco is smooth. There aren't too many customers at one time. It's not cart by cart. There are six self checkout stations. Unlike other locations, you actually checkout. There's typically only one employee guiding customers through the area. Out of the other locations, this would be the one I'd tell someone to go. You can only use the points you acquire at COSCO to purchase COSCO products. I have accumulated almost $200 in points from COSCO. When I went to cash in my points I was told the money can only be dispersed via their "gift car" which I was told would work anywhere. I tried to use it later that day and it failed to process. I went back to COSCO and talked to someone else in customer support and was told the "gift card" could only be used at COSCO. The card worked just fine when I went purchased something at COSCO a few minutes later. To sum it up: 1. One can only convert points to COSCO gift card 2. Card specifically states the card can not be cashed out for cash. 3. You can only use the card at COSCO to purchase COSCO products. read more

This Costco is terrible when it comes to selection. I just moved here from California but have lived across the U.S. and even shopped Costco internationally. This particular store has a poor selection of beer. I don't think they have a single local brewery represented. They also don't have NA beer which we'd gotten used to seeing at our California location. There is also only one selection for almond milk and it's not even Kirkland! Go figure. We typically purchased Califia unsweetened from the refrigerated section...California Costcos have refrigerated alt milks along with non-refrigerated, several types (Almond, Oat, Soy) and brands. In Georgetown? No such variety. Ok. That's alt milks and maybe that's not a thing here. Well, how about eggs? In California you can have white eggs, brown eggs, organic or free range. You get two dozen, you can get multiple trays (like restaurants buy). You can even get medium sized eggs instead of large. Here in Georgetown? You get exactly one choice: 18 white large eggs. We like to buy Casa Sanchez salsa and Del Real Carnitas from Costo on a regular basis. We could get that in California. In fact, California Costcos used to carry this awesome two-pack of Kirkland brand green and red salsas. In Georgetown? You get exactly one choice of "restaurant style" (yuck) red salsa. I mean, I would have thought that Texans would know how to identify good salsa and that Mexican options would be aplenty. I guess I was wrong.... At least it's not as bad as Canada where the Barrie, Ontario, store most likely only stocks Tostitos salsa (I didn't check because that's what all of the grocery stores call salsa up there). I know, I've lived too many places and been spoiled by quality. But what it comes down to is that where I would normally spend $150 to $250 per week shopping for staples at Costco, today I walked out having spent $25 and am now thinking of cancelling our membership because there's nothing to buy. The person packing my cart at cash was excited to see how much I spend per year that he excitedly suggested I should upgrade to Executive level (which I don't do anymore because we've moved so much and it doesn't make sense when you suddenly find yourself in a tiny apartment in a big city). I declined and said "unlikely to happen, there's nothing for me to buy here." Guess I'll be focusing on H-E-B and maybe Randall's and maybe the new Sprouts when it opens. I suppose if you've never visited other Costcos you just don't know what you're missing. This one in Georgetown is terrible and what makes it worse is that in the middle of the day the line for self checkout was mega long yet the store was practically empty. Normally I would zip through self checkout when all I have is three items but I opted to just wait a couple of minutes and go through regular checkout. See, I had planned on buying some wine but put it back when I could find other things and felt it would be faster to just not buy alcohol and go through self checkout but then the line... lol Probably some sort of statement that Texans like to be self sufficient and that's cool. read more

We came to visit this Costco for the first time. my wife has never been to one, but I grew up going to one with my parents. They would not even let us in to do a one day sample of the store without a full membership paid. Totally ridiculous. The greeting guy sounded so uppity too, as if he made more money than us. Quite silly that the large Kmart warehouse store is now considered uppity. Trust me- being turned away by a Costco guy sucks and deserves a 0 star rating. Went on a Sunday morning around 10:30. We got gas first thing and there was no line! I love that there's 3 pumps per lane unlike cedar park which has 2 which causes a lot of traffic. It was a bit busy to find parking but once we were inside, it didn't feel too crowded. They were giving out a bunch of samples of different food, everything was in stock, super clean, etc. I didn't see any book section in this Costco but I might have missed it! The cafeteria in the front was probably the busiest lol and we had to wait to find a table to sit down and eat. Overall, super happy that a Costco opened in Georgetown :) If you're on the fence about a membership, do it! Totally worth it. read more

Originally I bought my battery in California and they were able to track for how long I've had it. It was less than two years. This Costco is a typical Costco. The only difference is that it appeared very brand new. The workers were nice and as usual the same type of service. Same everything. be aware... there is no liquor store within this costco. they have the tire shop but no booze. But tbh I'm just so glad they built one even closer to me than CP or Pflugerville. Today I finally worked up the nerve to get my rebate on something they put on sale that i had purchased a few weeks ago, and only bc it was $6 back. To me, i never felt it was all that worth it to ask but this time I was like, why not? I have no problem using coupons so why not get a retro coupon. The first girl that helped me was so nice, even looked it up for me, printed a paper and handed it to the return line lady.. she was not as nice. Grumpy elderly lady who was looked at the paper and gave me a scowl and yelled at me that she needed to see my membership card. (thought the print out with my info was sufficient, so I had closed the app. It wasnt. So I had to open it which made her sigh loudly and ask the lady next to her when she could take her break. I wonder if I had been a very rich looking lady would this have made a difference in her professionalism or demeanor? I know when I worked in c.s. I couldnt speak to people like that, they would have asked to speak to a manager. but honestly, I just felt shamed. Which is the worst feeling you can feel when you spend HUNDREDS of dollars/thousands a year in this store and you're going to shame me for my $6 rebate? Maybe I go to a different big box chain store for this next few shopping trips. HEADS UP! On Saturday 11/2, I bought one of their delicious roasted chickens which I buy often. I got home salivating over a chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, the chicken was very under cooked, only the skin and first layer of meat was cooked. It was still bleeding a bit!! I took pictures to submit to customer service and threw out the chicken. I didn't put it to roast because my cousin said I'd be risking a potential bacterial problem. There were a lot of chickens on the shelves and I'm thinking that other buyers may have encountered the same experience. I don't think anyone would've eaten it raw. I'm not badmouthing Costco, just mentioning it for caution. I hope it won't happen again because it's the best chicken ever. read more

First visit at this Costco. Sample vendor was awesome promoting their product. I love that they carry Asian products. I was disappointed that they stop caring churros. Our visit would've have been nice except our cashier was not personable. It almost seem that he didn't want to be there. I was at opening day 8AM!! Was it to get possible opening day deals? Was it to get the food samples when they were hot and fresh? Was it to beat the crowds? It was none of that.... You see I thought they would have a C&W liquors attached to the outside as they do in pflugerville and Cedar Park and was hoping for any allotted bourbons that they would have. But alas.... I was denied.. this Costco does not have ANY hard liquor anywhere to be found.. aye que lastima!!! The inside of the store looked fantastic as it is a brand spanking new location. Every employee was very nice and they were fully stocked with most of the same items as the other stores but they did have a few items I had not seen before. The Smokey denmarks sausage to name one. The crowd was also packed full of blue hairs looking for the best food samples they could find. You also had a few people not shopping but using the carts as walkers and clogging up the lanes... remember people, you push your car on the right side of the aisle , just like driving a car. You also don't leave your cart in the middle of the aisle whilst you have a lengthy conversation with the sample giver... So the store is great as I only have to drive 3 miles instead of 10 and 100 traffic lights... I'm sure the crowds will be lighter as soon as the dozens of Costco executives and product reps go back home.. I dinged it one star for the lack of the outside liquor store like the other Costcos in the area. read more

Kicked out of parking lot while looking at Costco items that I just purchased! Costco Georgetown Texas, on 9/6/24, I bought several items of clothing and jackets for my grandchildren, my daughter-in-law and I were standing in the parking lot discussing who needs what size and reviewing what I had purchased, when a mature man with gray hair, in a light colored 4-door sedan demanded we leave their parking lot immediately. He was SO RUDE! He said we could not stand there and talk because the store was closing. I understand security protocol (I worked in banking for many years) but he didn't have to be rude. I spent $300 that day ($147 + $159), and then got kicked out of the parking lot, I was so mad! And I have not been back to that store since! Very impressed with the Cosco audiology/hearing center. They were very through and professional and most importantly HONEST and credible. I was just outside of the hearing loss necessary for hearing aids and I'm thrilled they didn't try to push for these (as other non-Cosco hearing centers have done). read more
