Had very highly expectations that I would be treated with courteous customer service and at least get acknowledge when we walked in. When we walked in we did not get acknowledged. Nor did someone come up to ask if I need assistance or help with finding something. Another customer came in, they where treated very differently then how we did. The younger lady at the cash register and the older female just looked at us. The younger lady was creeping behind me and felt very intimidated and uncomfortable. That's when we decided to leave. Never have I encountered such experience.

If Ollie's has any flaws, other then it feeling like a thrift store, it would be that the carts can't go outside. Having to haul a large coffee maker box and my bag out to my car was a bit of a feat! Also the lady who checked me out seemed nice but was really put out when I asked for a membership card. The store is usually clean and organized (for a thrift store). The prices are usually very consistent and they don't seem to try and charge antique store prices for some of the nicer stuff that comes through. They get it. You move volume -- you don't run off your customers with stale inventory and a back shelf full of high dollar items that sit there for months until they get marked down to a reasonable number. Cons: The music. They play a very limited selection of "Christian" music that is usually just pop-music ripoffs with the redundant lyrics. The staff can *sometimes* be hard to tolerate. I do understand that they put up with A LOT of crazy, but I've had to overhear some pretty borderline racist things about "immigrants" over the last couple of years. Remember ladies, when you're preaching to the choir outside of of the congregation, some people might not appreciate overhearing you recite some of your conservative media talking points. All-in-all, it's a great thrift store, and since most of them are now Ebay stores that sell the junk they can't get bids for, it's one of the few left around. It's almost like the antique malls where people rent stalls and sell their wares, except that everything is new. There are craft items, collectibles, clothing, candles, socks and so much more! They even had a stall selling Glamorous Wash Laundry Detergent. I like the High Maintenance and Diva scents and use it for my bedding. I love the way that it makes them smell! If you find something that you like, just bring it up to the register at the front of the store and they'll ring you up. I hope that our Painted Tree is just as cool as this was!
