While we were waiting we checked out a few stores down the street from Discount Tires. I saw a Burlington store in the strip mall. I can't remember the last time I was in one. I thought they were a coat store. They have coats & so much more. Burlington has a ton of discounted merchandise very similar to the other discount stores that have been opening everywhere. Many of the big Deptartment stores like Carsons, JC Pennys, Sears & Macy's have either gone out of business or downsized considerably while Discount stores like Ross, Micheals, TJ Max & Burlington are opening everywhere.

One 'uppity' person working who doesn't acknowledge you when you walk in, someone who seems to be 'put out' because you're actually buying something, thus giving her a task to perform (while making no small talk) and doesn't thank you for supporting the establishment. Especially useful for those that lack transportation to "big box" stores, there are some (decent) home goods that could meet your mark. I had a quarter in my hand ready to go for a cart, but the lady putting a cart away gave me hers and refused my quarter. I passed on her kindness to a lady as I was leaving the store. This particular visit felt extremely difficult to navigate because it felt like there were pallets being unloaded onto the shelves in every aisle. Which felt strange to me on a Saturday afternoon. I appreciate Aldi for their salad mixes, grass fed beef, and affordable healthy options! My teenaged daughter will occasionally ask for their house brand BBQ flavored chips and I will pick them up because balance. I am happy they let the cashiers sit because the service is quick and I don't know what the point of making them stand at other stores is. The staff is usually efficient and kind! I picked a pork item to take home and try. When I got home and started to thaw it out, I noticed that the item I purchased had expired 1 1/2 months before the purchase date. This was a use by date, not a purchase by date, so it had no shelf life. I thought any establishment would be embarrassed to sell a product 1 1/2 months after the expiration date. Now here's the problem. The Glenview store is 40 minutes from me. I am much closer to the Mt. Prospect store and I was under the impression that the Wild Fork sign on both stores means that they would both back up product sold by the Wild Fork corporation. Well Mt. Prospect wouldn't help me in any way since I did not buy the item there. Don't give me the "franchise" excuse. If Wild Fork can't figure out how to stand behind their product, no matter which location, I have no reason to ever set foot in any of their stores again.
