I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I'm not going back so... I happened to be in the Glenview area and visited that Wild Fork location a few days ago and I was initially impressed with what I thought was a clean store and quality product. I picked a pork item to take home and try. When I got home and started to thaw it out, I noticed that the item I purchased had expired 1 1/2 months before the purchase date. This was a use by date, not a purchase by date, so it had no shelf life. I thought any establishment would be embarrassed to sell a product 1 1/2 months after the expiration date. Now here's the problem. The Glenview store is 40 minutes from me. I am much closer to the Mt. Prospect store and I was under the impression that the Wild Fork sign on both stores means that they would both back up product sold by the Wild Fork corporation. Well Mt. Prospect wouldn't help me in any way since I did not buy the item there. Don't give me the "franchise" excuse. If Wild Fork can't figure out how to stand behind their product, no matter which location, I have no reason to ever set foot in any of their stores again. read more

The store is spotless. All of their freezer cases are clearly labeled to make it easy to find what you are looking for. Try the picanha, a tender beef that you can add a flavorful chimichurri sauce to. They have gnocchi and zucchini noodles. So many kinds of fish and shrimp. They have dozens of spice mixtures for purchase as well as take and bake quick appetizers which would be perfect for holiday gatherings. I purchased my Thanksgiving turkey breast from them and can't wait to try it. They offer vegetable sides and breakfast waffles stuffed with apple or creme fillings. Their staff is wonderful. Wild Fork opened in Mount Prospect 2 weeks ago located across from Randhurst shopping center. The store is clean, bright and well organized. Upon entering we were greeted by Carey, who explained to us about their products, pointed out recipe cards spread throughout the store. Wild Fork mamages the entire meat/seafood process. They select the farms to packaging Nd freezing. They promote consistency and high quality. They have prepared individual meals, hourdourves, meats, large selection of seafood, sausages, and chicken. They also have a variety of unusual meats, beef heart, whole pigs, elk, bison, lamb and many meats I was not familiar with. My husband and I first reviewed all the products in the store and than started over to make our selections. The prices are clearly displayed and all of the workers were extremely friendly and helpful. Carey was especially helpful and accommodating throughout our visit. This is a new, interesting, and unique store selling a mix of conventional and exotic frozen products.  They have 2 newish stores in Chicago and also one about to open in Skokie.  We browsed about on this first visit and just picked up a package of 12 macarons and a small frozen European sea bass filet.  Prices look on the highish side, but much of that appropriately goes along with the exotic mix of products here.  The prices are always as shown and they don't do promotions or "sales", at least not yet.  It's a great place for getting that something special for a holiday treat, a special occasion, or that special foodie person you know.   Besides some conventional products like packaged entree meals, sausages, ribs, seafood, vegan sausages and burger patties, and desserts;  they have exotic items like elk medallions, ground wild boar, bison, and ostrich, alligator tenderloins, Wagyu beef ribeye steaks, goat cubes, pre-sliced foie gras, and picanha. Unlike the experience of a couple reviewers, Barry did approach us as we browsed and offered any assistance as required.  Among other things we chatted about their smallish parking lot and they are in fact working on a plan to expand capacity to around the back side of their building.  They are conveniently located across Kensington Road from Randhurst Mall and Costco, so we come by here regularly.  Welcome to the neighborhood and nice to have you here! read more

First of all, absurdly clean. Yeah, a new(ish) store, but the FLOOR was spotless and the food display cases were operating-room clean. We bought s package of haddock filets and when we got home, I surprised to see that the INDIVIDUAL pieces were wrapped in plastic. My wife pan-fried the haddock in light olive oil and it was terrific. Could not tell that it was frozen at one time. Had very positive results with the duck confit two nights later. 'Fresh' meats and fish - you need to watch out for this chain. A very, very, VERY positive experience. (experience was at the location on the corner of Lake and Waukegan, in Glenview) read more

service was horrible. ordered six lobster tails for a special dinner with my boss and received only 4. I talked to 3 customer service people about getting the final two and they all said they'd get it done and call me within half hour. I kept calling back as I never received notice the two would be shipped. they never came. totally embarrassed for the dinner I served and had to give the bosses adult kids shrimp. The mount prospect location is fabulous. So many amazing options and very knowledgeable staff. Rachael always has my order ready and is so kind and helpful to me. My favorites to order are the lamb shank and chops, Argentine shrimp, and beef liver. read more

I bought my Christmas prime rib here. It was a beautiful frozen roast. I have ordered online frozen roasts in the past and have been happy for the most part, but I liked the idea of picking out my own piece, rather than just going with whatever was sent to me. This store had Prime, Choice and seasoned roasts. I chose a 7 lb Prime with rib bones attached. This was a delicious roast, as long as Wild Fork sells these, I will buy them. I will try some of the other items next. They have frozen grouper which I love and can never find. I'll also try the lamb chops. So glad to have this business in the neighborhood. read more

So I stumbled upon this site today and was so happy. They appear to have great deals and awesome looking good. I was sharing their website with all of my friends. I placed an order and joined the subscription for shipping. I am disabled and had my daughter wait up until 10pm for my order to be delivered!! The order never came, no email, no explanation, nothing. Not any way to do business. I will make sure to let all my friends know of my experience. Not a good first impression. read more

We started out really liking WF. Spent more than $1000 over a 7 month span. My kids know that I like them and they went to the Mt. Prospect store to get me a Fathers Day gift card. They were told by the manager that it can be used online. I don't live near a WF store. I found out after filling up my cart that it CAN'T be used online. Next, I ordered 2 separate orders a few days apart for delivery and they were delivered someplace else, not to me. Their customer service is basically 1 person who has a call back up that's at least an hour long so don't call them. Send an email and you may have better luck during regular business hours. Forget it otherwise. So after a couple of discussion about their failures all I got from them was "We will escalate these issues to CS management." Let me ask you, How does that help me to be a loyal customer? You screwed up twice! In a row! If you are a customer or were thinking about being a customer Be Warned. read more

I was really glad that I stumbled on this shop when I went to do something near this location. I am also glad because the shop offers a great selection of frozen products. It is a little hefty and the inside is full of frozen products. There is a great variety of meat, literally a great quality of meat. They have all the cuts and kinds of meat that I could ever think of. Based on what I bought, the products were really fresh and of great quality. Aside from that, they also have a selection of quick meal solutions, which is really great. There is a nice selection of delicious desserts and also a limited selection of fresh vegetables. The staff here are also friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I did not need much help from the staff inside the shop because everything is basically organized so it is easy to locate and notice anything, including their prices, which can be seen on every product. Speaking of prices, I would say that the prices are fine, but they are higher than the prices in other shops, even the grocery stores. But when it comes to the quality and freshness of the products, I will probably choose this shop. read more
