Valli Produce was near a place that we were going to for dinner, so we stopped in because we needed a few things. We found the bananas that we were looking for and then decided to see what else was offered. We noticed that the expiration dates were not very good. Two products I looked at were a week past their expiration date. The prices were also higher than I'm used to for some items. Valli Produce was quick and convenient, and the staff was friendly.

Valli typically has the usual groceries we shop for, with the added bonus of lower priced fresh produce than other neighborhood stores. As other Yelpers may have noticed, Valli is in an older building and some areas of the store don't look as clean or updated as nearby stores like Amazon Fresh, but it's worth the savings you get here. I've been comparing prices on our staple items like eggs, skim milk, bread, skinless, boneless chicken breast, and some of our other favorites, and Valli still typically comes out ahead for me. One of our favorite brands is El Milagro chips and tortillas. I have a hard time finding these in stock at Jewel or other stores (they seem very popular) and tortilla chip bags were scarce at the height of COVID. However, this is now my go-to place for my favorite ground turkey taco salad fixings. Highlights for me are the deli items, sushi counter, varoety of ehole grain and pita breads, and the bulk food aisles for raw nuts, raisins, and other itemsbuild-your-own trail mix. On my last visit, the cashiers were super friendly and giving away bottles of free hand sanitizer. The baked goods here are fresh, decadent, and reasonably priced too. The parking lot chaos is enough to keep me from shopping at Valli on the weekends, so I try to come early on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

The deli sandwiches are always fresh and good quality meat. Their prices are better then any deli around here.

The deli has slow and careless workers I got pepperoni and it still had the plastic. There is also a problem with the pace the worker are super slow it took 5 minutes to get one thing the store it self was pretty disgusting and some food is 3 weeks expired another thing is the food in the deli looks like it has been there for months

    They're Pro produce. Get it?

I got 99 problems but the 99 cent blackberry cartons ain't one. That's right, Folks. Valli Produce has NINETY-NINE CENT Blackberry cartons. You know how much that ish usually costs me? $2.99 on AVERAGE. $2.69 on a good day. After my first time shopping at Valli Produce, I felt as if I'd been made a fool of by other grocers. How did I go my whole life being practically price gouged by the likes of Jewel, Dominicks, and I don't want to say it, but even Trader Joe. I know Valli isn't organic but it's cheaper than dirt. Literally, cheaper than dirt. I mean, it has it's trade offs and all- like the customers are battier than sh*t, but you know, you get a little of that everywhere... you're just more likely to be run down by an old lady looking for pre-sliced bananas (what!?) while spotting someone's 8 year old sitting their ass in the bread bins at the deli counter... and everyone's just A-Okay with it. And you will be too- when you do a double take at those prices. Things I got for under $20: 1. 6 Kolacky Cookies from the bakery (2 apricot, 2 cheese, and 2 nutella) 2. A dozen Amish brown eggs 3. Pomegranate Juice 4. 3 Avocados 5. 4 Kiwis 6. 2.01 lbs of Sweet Potatoes 7. 1.55 lbs of Bosc Pears 8. 1 Corn Flavored Popsicle (hyup, you read that right) 9. 1.65 lbs of Naval Oranges 10. 6 Cartons of Blackberries (that I ate in less than a day) 11. .98 lbs of Florida Sunburst Tangerines AMAZING! Sure, the cookies kinda sucked and the corn popsicle was pretty strange (the first layer tastes like breast milk), but it's hard to complain in a world where I can eat my weight in berries for less than a Benji. One thing my veteran Valli Produce BF pointed out is that you have be careful when shopping the VF as most all of their produce is just at it's peak ripeness so it won't last long after purchase. It's important not stockpile shop (which is what I usually do) or you'll end up wasting a lot of the goods if not consumed in mass quantities at light speed. For bonus fun, check out the uber-hilar angry beaver energy drinks by the registers (photos included).

The first time we ordered from here was through the website and we drove up to pickup the food. First, the app... perfect. Need gluten free food filtered? Yep! Need low carbs and zero sugar filtered? Yep! Did you decide to go into the store instead and need to turn it into a shopping list telling you which aisle and section it is located in? Yep! Honestly, it is fantastic. Next, it is employee owned. Everyone inside seems to care about making you a happy customer because they own a stake in it. Lastly, this place is massive! I can't rally explain to you how massive. It is 242,000 square feet of groceries. For scale, that is 15 commercial Boeing 737 jetliners inside or 395 full sized semi trucks or the entire New York City Central Park Zoo! Want those Keto ice cream bars that taste better than standard ice creams? Yep! You got a customer for life. Well done!

There is rarely any kind of wait to get to the self-checkouts and when there is a wait, it is very short. My other opinions about Jewel match many of the other reviews: (1) their prices are higher relative to other grocery stores, (2) they do have a good produce selection, meat and fish counters. (3) They also have a wide variety of staples. (4) There is usually a mismatch in some pricing shown in the aisles and when you check out. (5) It is very hard to find anyone working at the store who can help you if you need something. So, for selection and fresh product freshness, they score well. For pricing and service, they don't match other grocers.

The weekly specials are constantly marked on the shelves, but when you get to checkout, the discounts "never seem to apply." It's frustrating and feels misleading. When I've asked staff about the pricing discrepancies, I've been met with dismissive and rude responses instead of helpful customer service. Rather than correcting the issue at the register, I'm told to go stand in line at customer service for a refund. Unfortunately, the representatives there have also been unfriendly and unprofessional, like they are doing you a favor. On top of the poor service, the prices in this store are outrageously high compared to other grocery stores in the area. Between the inaccurate sale pricing, the attitude from employees, and the overall experience, this location has been by far one of the worst grocery stores I've dealt with. THE WORST! Very disappointing. This was strike 3. I will not spend one more dollar at this store.

We noticed 4 notable differences from the Morton Grove store which has served our needs pretty well given the Prime membership discounts that we realize. The most important one, and one the wife noticed, is that the prices here are more competitive than in Morton Grove. We surmised that was just due to the presumably stiffer grocery competition in Schaumburg. A second difference is the produce department has more offerings. A third difference is they have a Krispy Kreme stand here for what that's worth. Finally, a fourth difference is the temperature in here is actually reasonable and comfortable as opposed to the usually frigid conditions in Morton Grove lol. Overall, a pretty nice Amazon Fresh, and thumbs up.
