The prices are a little high here, but there are many options which I like. First we grabbed food from their hot food section. Surprisingly, I didn't see any potato pancakes which I thought were a Polish staple. The Polish sausage is really good, but the breaded porkchop could have been better. While I appreciate how full of meat and rice their stuffed cabbage rolls are, they were lacking in seasoning, and they don't put enough sauce on them either. They have a variety of fresh hot soups available. I wish I could remember the names of the two we got but one was all beans and the other had sausage and boiled egg in it. Both were very good. In the cold case we grabbed a few items. Their homemade pierogis were delicious. We tried the meat and the potato which cheese options and really liked both. Could have done without the blueberry and cheese blintzes. Was not expecting them to just have full blueberries in them without any kind of jam to accompany them. Made them not as sweet as expected. In that cold section we grabbed a tomato & rice soup thinking we could pour it over the cabbage rolls but the flavor was not good. In the bakery section we tried three items: Limoncello cake slice - awful Rhubarb gooseberry slice - very good Fancy fudge sliced cake - absolutely delicious. Reminded us of a cross between the Portillo's sliced cake and a Hostess chocolate cupcake from the 80s & 90s when they still were good. I just love this store! They offer a nice selection of foods, but more importantly their homemade foods are so fresh and good. Really reminds me of mom's cooking. Very nice store. I was very happy to find KD Market. I'm from out of town, and while in the Chicagoland area I wanted to stock up on some Polish grocery items. I didn't know how lucky I would be to find some of my favorite items from back home in Poland. The cheese and dairy sections were well stocked with items I have missed. Oscypek readily available. My favorite Mlekovita Favita Ser Sałatkowo-Kanapkowy. I have missed this so much. And the Almette's - every flavor you could imagine. Kefir that isn't going to break the bank with its price. I found a really good rye sunflower seed bread that brought back memories. I grabbed some bigos from the prepared section and I even got some ziaja face tonic that I missed so much. It was hard for me to believe that there were so many products because they are so difficult to get where I live. Upon checkout, I chatted with the girl at the register. She was young and friendly and didn't mind that my Polish skills were terrible. I'm sure she would have spoken English to me if I hadn't started with Dzien Dobry. It was a pleasant experience. Great international grocery located in Schaumburg with most things from Europe. It has a pretty good selection to choose from. KD Market seems to be Polish. Makes sense because there's a large population around here. There's of course the paczki and other sweets. A way to save some money when eating out. It's good to go to a store. There's a large amount of produce and whatever. Prices are pretty good for the most part. The groceries in the coolers usually aren't as cheap though. Anyway, there's still plenty you can get. There's also Asian such as sushi and rolls. Could visit this more often if it was closer. It has lots of good finds. The prices aren't bad on lots of things. read more

Dishonest cashier, Svetlana. I just pickup some groceries on Thursday night. 03 06 2025. After arriving home I went thought my receipt and noticed 4 item I paid for missing. I called the store and found out that I have to go to back to pickup the items from the service desk. I was told that I forgot one bag. This would not raise my suspicion and I would not write this complaint if the store was busy , full of customers. But, I was the only person at the register. If the cashier was honestly doing her job she had an opportunity to say somethin as there was no one at the register but me and her. Even with other competition nearby for European goods, I like what KD Market has to offer. This location is much larger than the one in Wheeling with a huge parking lot and tons of selection. This is definitely noticeable with the wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Prices are competitive, especially on sale items, but not the cheapest. Like their other locations, the selection of hot foods, bakery, and sweets (eclairs, fancy fudge, cheesecakes, and more!) really shines and sets it apart from other grocery stores. The presentation is attractive through the store which is also well organized. This is a great place to find european versions of some of your favorite foods, such as milka -- or unusual variations of familiar brands that are difficult to find elsewhere. There's also a good selection of books, magazines, and household products here that the smaller locations don't carry as much of a selection of. Overall, worth a visit if you're looking for specialty products, particularly Polish foods and goods. read more

FANTASTIC POLISH FOOD I wish this store was closer to downtown Chicago. They have some fantastic polish food options to go. You can get them prepackaged both hot and cold. There's also a hot bar where you can build your own pre-made food package. Our favorite to go package was the polish platter which featured smoked sausage, pierogis, potato pancakes, a stuffed cabbage roll, mashed potatoes and baked sauerkraut. Everything tasted amazing and it was so fresh. The meal was a deal too. This giant platter of food was only $9.52. (Prices are subject to change thanks to inflation) It was a ton of food. My family keeps asking me when I'm driving back out to Schaumburg to pick up more food from here again. Honestly it's worth the drive. That's a deal I can't pass up! The store has everything you could want. I love all of the Eastern European dishes that are available. I could eat here all day long. The hot chicken soup looks amazing too. They sell the soup in quart sized dishes that are ready to go! I wish I would have grabbed one. I might have just eaten the whole container it in my car. It's the perfect place to taste Polish Traditions. Not only can you find authentic European ingredients, fresh produce & meats but you can also get authentic Polish specialties, which are all made from scratch. They have a lot of unique products imported from Europe. I love that many of these products do not contain high fructose corn syrup. That is a bonus over American made packaged foods. Polish Supermarket. Paczki Day is a big deal in Chicagoland. This place bakes enough paczkis to feed all of Chicagoland! They are baked fresh daily and come in a variety of flavors. Enter the main doors and walk straight back to the Bakery. This is where the paczki and all the other bakes goods are found. I purchased a poppy seed cake at this store 11/23/23 and according to its label it was good until 11/24/23. Sadly when trying to serve it the same day I noticed large amount of mold at the bottom of the cake. Needless to say, I took it back to the store the following day and was informed that I cannot get a refund because I did not have a receipt. Apparently, having item marked clearly with KD market label is not enough of a proof. I was offered a replacement cake to which I declined as my trust in the quality of food sold there has been shaken. I spoke with two employees and it seems that neither was bothered by the fact that food had mold on it but were rather focused on the refund, for which I never asked to begin with. I've literally started coming here more often BECAUSE they listened, improved and made shopping here a pleasure (funny how lots of places think Yelp isn't worth paying attention to, but they should since we're all real, paying customers). The checkout process is flawless now with more registers open, the hot bar moves quickly and I LOVE the pre-packaged dinner entrees they now sell (food straight from the hot bar, but ready to go?- genius!) and OK, I *did* try the sushi and it's pretty good, so I was admittedly wrong: keep the sushi! My mom has been telling me about this store for a while now. I have driven past this place hundreds of times and always wanted to go in, but never have. My mom brought me some prepared chicken soup from this store. My husband and I shared it before dinner one night recently. As we were eating it, we both looked at each other and said how much we loved the soup. It was so flavorful and had beautiful pieces of chicken! When you first walk in, you will be happily surprised to find what's behind that automatic sliding door! Its a whole grocery store. I had no idea. Where has this place been?? Or better question, why have I not found this store until now? There is a complete produce area, it's not the size of Tony's, Caputo's or Valli, but it's a decent size and has everything you need! Fresh chives, grapes, potatoes, apples, oranges, peppers, onions, ginger, you name it! The pricing was excellent on their sale items. Gala apples, for example, were $.79 per pound and a 3 lb. bag of Yukon potatoes was $1.50. They do not have a meat section with packaged meat like you find at your regular grocery store, all their meat is at the meat counter and you purchase as much or little as you need. They have the basics in the poultry area...chicken breasts $2.99 per lb., whole chickens, leg quarters $.99 per lb., ground chicken $2.49 per lb. and that's about it with the poultry. The beef and pork was also pretty limited, but they have the basics. Pork, Beef and Veal meat for stew cubed up. Ground veal, pork and beef. The ground beef was $3.49 per lb., while the ground pork was $1.79 per lb. They also have a full deli with a lot of Polish items but also some American basics like Munster cheese and ham. I sampled Krystyna's Baked Ham which they sell for $6.99 per lb. and it was FANTASTIC!!! If you are looking to grab lunch or dinner, their prepared foods area is next to the deli and you can select one main dish such as cabbage rolls or breaded pork loin and one side like potato pancakes or cabbage. A meal is $5.99 for one main dish and one side. Not bad for a complete dinner. I briefly walked the aisles and found that a lot of items are European but most items have a label on the back side explaining what the item is and it's nutritional information. If I know anything, a lot of European items are better than some of our American products. For example, they have a chocolate cake mix that looks like it would be delicious! I might have to pick that up next time I visit. Speaking of cake, they have a small bakery near the back of the store across from their prepared foods area that sells Pączki's, sweet rolls, small cakes and cookies. Nothing looked particularly appealing to me they day I was there, but they had plenty of options. I also found an entire section of Milka bars...I'm a big fan of Milka bars and there are a zillion kinds, and you rarely find more than a few flavors in a candy aisle but Krystyna's has almost every kind Milka makes!! I was impressed. I'm still on the hunt for a Milka bar I found in the Amsterdam airport that had milk, white and dark chocolate all in one bar and have yet to find it in America. I searched here and sadly, they did not have this one here but they had plenty of other options! You are not going to come here and get everything on your grocery list, but you can certainly check a majority of items off and trust that they are fresh from a store like this. My wife and I just moved to the area. We were so excited to try all the Polish stores in the area (my wifey is Polish), what a big disappointment. If not section with Polish deli I would say it's a cheap copy of box store. I won't mention the price difference between this store and others but the food taste. I have being using the Schaumburg KD store's services for years and I love their selection of European products. Having said that the store in Schaumburg have improved a lot for the past year or so. They expanded their line of products a GREAT DEAL ! You can find not only great Polish products, but also a wide variety of Ukranian, German, Bulgarian and other Balkan products. This could very well be my last review in Illinois, so it is only fitting that it be the type of establishment we will greatly miss when we leave the area...a great Polish market. Some Polish markets are tiny little shoe boxes packed with goodness, but this place is HUGE! A full grocery store with an amazing deli/meat counter and a bakery department that rivals any high-end grocers in the area...plus their prices are fantastic. You can get an absolutely beautiful assortments of cakes and pastries for a mere fraction of what you would pay at a place like Mariano's or Whole Foods and the quality is great as well. Even their produce section is beautifully arranged and stocked with a perfectly stacked variety of quality fruits & veggies. This is a great place to pick up harder to find European grocery items and they also have a liquor department so you can stock up on your Czech beer and Polish vodka. read more

This ain't your standard hole-in-the-wall Polish deli. It's a full sized supermarket WITH a liquor section. While combing the locale for a decent source of kielbasa, I came across Krystyna's and instantly fell in love. The deli section is always crowded and if the tag system is inop, get ready for mayhem. Somehow everyone stays in order, unlike the death pit at Valli's deli. Service is friendly and served with a smile from the ladies who aren't hard to look at. Check out the aisles for some unique Polish groceries. I tried an Apple Mint drink that was strangely refreshing. The liquor section is small but has a decent selection, including 90%+ alcohol spyrytus. Extensive Polish beer selection is available as well. They have prepared food and a bakery as well but I haven't had the chance to try either. The food on display looks good though. Check it out and grab some kielbasa for the grill. read more

Upon entry your eyes are filled with the racks of fresh fruit & vegetables, keep on walking and you see the bakery where you tongue sticks out lol because everything there looks so good and smells amazing, then you have the deli with all the polish sausages and goodies, meat department had just about everything I needed, fresh meat, they also have prepared food if you are looking for a quick prepared lunch on the go, a vegetable salad & fruit bar and not to forget a sushi area where you order and they make the rolls right in front of you, this store was above and beyond compared to the other KD's I've been to, plush not to mention how clean the store was, this store is huge and the lay out is nice. Super disappointed. I go to this store all the time for YEARS, love the workers, food etc.. My mom bought me a birthday cake and the cake tasted sour, bitter and old. Like they squeezed a dirty sponge into it. Everyone at the party threw the cake into the trash after taking a bite. So, the next day my mom came into the store to talk to the Manager, and the manager was puzzled that she brought half the cake back. Of course she brought half the cake back because we cut the cake for our guests and threw out the pieces we bit into. What does he want us to dig it from the trash? After tasting the cake he told her it's a bit sour because of the raspberries. Mind you, we buy this cake every year and it never tastes this horrible. The manager was not understanding or kind, didn't see our side at all and we are disappointed at how he treated us over bringing the cake back to show him. What if the guests at the party got sick from an old cake? I will be taking my business to Deli4U & will also make sure people know how you treated the situation. We did not care that much about getting that money back, but the way you treated us after being loyal customers is appalling. The guests at the party will remember the taste of this cake & after hearing how the store reacted, they will be sure to go somewhere else also, you lost 6 loyal customers over a $35 cake. I love this place. Great selection of Polish goods, also fair Eastern European selection. Only place I can find Racine Sour Rye bread - a whole grain rye sourdough. Their lunch special is terrific - meat selection changes weekly, plus your choice of two sides from long list. Today it was roast pork shoulder. I usually make two meals of it. As with every such store, some things are more or less expensive than at a supermarket, but I go here for the unique things, not for plastic wrap. Polish foods from deli, white Polish sausage, breads, cheese and other dairy. It's worth signing up online for their rewards program - just need a phone number. I'm in heaven! A Polish deli & supermarket where they assume you speak Polish! My grandmother would be proud. The first source of kielbasa I've ever shopped at that has 3-4 distinct types of kielbasa available not just a single generic "kielbasa," or sometimes kielbasa-like options. Picked up some of their house brand frozen pierogi too. Couldn't find a potato/onion pierogi like Grandma used to make, but I'm sure the potato and cheese is just as good. I love it. I've been here about 3-4 times now and every time I leave with the same thing - SUSHI! What is wrong with this picture??? People always seem aghast when I tell them I'm getting sushi from the Polish deli but you can't argue with quality. There is always quite the variety on offer here as well. The only way I'd like KD's sushi better is if the prices were a little lower on some of the options because, value-wise, it does not always compare well to some sit-down restaurants. Alternatively, give me a complimentary miso soup and/or salad and we'd be closer to parity. We are regionally from Germany and miss a lot of our usuals like "Brötchen" (bread buns) and actual bread and chocolates and some other stuff that we have been unable to find but were able to find here. Their pastry is amazingly and dangerously out of this world, great variety of things and the staff is very nice and helpful as well. Love love LOVE their half off sushi after 7pm- still tastes very good and fresh. Definitely a must stop on am the way home from a long day- not-feeling-like-cooking-day. This is where the Pollacks gather;-) Krystyna's Deli (KD) is a Polish deli/grocery store that my family and I have been going to probably every few days for over 20 years. In the past few years they have completely renovated the place and expanded it to twice its original size. They have added a sushi bar, increased and diversified the staff to include people other than those only from the mother land and have included more American products. Back in the day, I would do half my grocery shopping here (meats, bread) and half of it across the street at Jewel (produce, snacks). Now I can get ALL my groceries here. Love that! When you enter, you'll find: -decent fruit and veggie produce section -large fresh deli section -great raw meat section -fresh made breads and if you get your timing right....WARM rolls -small but good sweets bakery -sushi area where they make sushi on the spot and often have free samples -hot lunch/dinner bar; $5.99/meal for 3 HUGE items. It was so much food, I shared it with 2 other people. -full salad bar with two different kinds of hot soups -aisles of usual 'grocery' crap you may need such as shampoo, creams, soda (I love the spice section since it is so different from most US grocers) - small but enough international beer and liquor selection I'm really happy with KD now, I do hope they stop Americanizing (is that even a word?, ha!) it because currently it has the perfect combo of European, a splash of Asian, and just enough American in it to make me a very happy girl and like a good grocer should....meets all my daily food needs. read more

This place does not deserve one star!!! I was a shoping at this location last Saturday and their credit card system was down. I had no idea that the system was not working but they knew. The cashier asked me to swipe my cc and we were waiting for like 3-4 min for the transaction to go trough. Well a receipt came out saying transaction not completed, but my money was taking out of the account. So one of their employees asked me to pay at another register and he charged my CC again!! So my account got charge twice $ 185.60..... Since then I have been trying to talk to them to provide a refund or credit. I called to speack to a mgr and they said the banck has to refund not them!!! I am very upset and I don't know if I want to shop there again!! There are other Polish stores ! Better then KD!! They don't deserve my money!!! read more

Well we were waiting for a nice day to defrost the 2 filet mignons and start up the grill. Today was the day and the steaks were delicious. We also enjoyed the chicken noodle soup that we bought on our first time there as well as the prepared potato pancakes. We will definitely go back! read more
