Been waiting 10 minutes for an associate to come unlock their liquor cabinet. Basic hard liquor is in locked cabinets and require an associate to come unlock.

Rotten avocado throughout an entire tray of sushi. This was a catering plater and every piece of sushi with avocado was not oxidized but rotten and brown

Who waits until two days before Thanksgiving to go shopping?! This guy! Despite the fact that it's two days before one of the biggest food days of the year we found everything we were looking for, and at sale prices to boot! We nabbed a delicious ribeye roast (at a great discount!), fresh bread, veggies, apples for our pie, assorted bits n bobs, and of course alcohol! The woman in the meat dept was a gem, helping us pick out a great roast, as well as explaining how I can cut the roast, and making sure I went home with butchers string when I said I didn't have any! Ken, the cashier who assisted us, caught that I hadn't entered in my Mariano's card/phone number, and made sure I went to customer service where a kind woman applied the sale amounts and reimbursed me $47! Jessica (I think that was her name), was a conscientious bagger, doubling up on bags to prevent anything being too heavy! Great job all, and thanks Mariano's!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Always a great choice to get quality produce and groceries at great prices. This is very similar to other Mariano's in the areas which have a great selection of prepared food and bakery items, and awesome options such as cheese and meat boards at super reasonable prices. In particular, I love their better than average choices of baked goods and cakes, which allow me to get competitively priced items for any celebration when I need to. I'm also very pleased with the friendly service and speedy checkout times.

Out of all the other Mariano's I've shopped at, I find this location best among the others. First of all I would like to say that the staff here has been phenomenal, very helpful, as well as feeling fond to say hello. Usually I'm all about saving as much as possible, though I don't mind from what they have to offer, as it's usually unique in some way, or just something worth trying! Mariano's has so much to offer, like. Honey... they have around, over 30 types of honey, that's really astounding! Along with a large selection of teas... So many teas to choose from and exotic honey to pair... heaven. Purciutto, as I've realized not many other grocery stores sell at the deli (unless prepackaged). Oh! The breads at the bakery are wonderous! Definitely check out the large selection of Jelly and jams they have in stock! Wine too.... eek, quite a selection and inventory for variety. Oh! Icecream, the gelato is delicious! Especially Lemon, mango, strawberry. If you're someone who enjoys reading, looking and browsing, you'll definitely lose track of time with their products on the shelves, especially with eye catching packages.

All-natural, vegan, gluten-free soups available. YES!!

Considering that this is the newest Mariano's in the area and it has the main offices for all the local stores, I had pretty high expectations and was prepared to give them five stars. Well, that's not happening. I'm used to the employees in the other locations being super friendly, talkative, and knowledgeable (side note: I used to work at another Mariano's location and prided myself on being a pretty good cashier). I didn't get that impression here at all. The first cashier -- when I purchased my so-so lunch to eat there -- didn't really know what she was doing. The second cashier in the checkout lane did not greet us or say anything. The third cashier -- when I bought my kale smoothie -- was really friendly -- yay! However, all of them were really surprised when I asked them if they wanted my Mariano's card and seemed like they were still learning everything. Maybe they didn't have as much time to prepare prior to the opening as the other locations? I don't know. I definitely was disappointed by the lack of excellent customer service here. The aisles here are big, which is great, but the deli/produce/gelato/bakery area seemed cramped. Prices and selection was great (whew!). However, (I know that Mariano's is not a health foods store) I was disappointed with their vegan selection -- not as many vegan cheese, meat, and yogurt options as the other locations would offer. I was really bummed because I was counting on coming here for those since Whole Foods and Trader Joes are quite a drive from my new apartment. Oh, the kiddie carts! Ugh!! Unlike other stores, the ones at this store are painted reds and blues (and maybe other colors) so they almost seem to encourage children to race them around the store -- because that is exactly what we encountered. On top of that, the people here seemed slower (employees and customers) and indecisive about what the wanted to order (the deli bar was crazy)! My husband and I were anxious to leave. The only thing about this location that thrilled me? THE JUICE/SMOOTHIE BAR! I had an amazing Kale smoothie and ended up buying all the ingredients for it so I could make it at home. I will probably find myself more at a smoothie place for these kinds of drinks than here, but it's good to know they have the option. We are sticking with the Palatine location for our Mariano's trips. I might come back here in a couple months to see if things have [hopefully] improved.

    Sushi bar! Very pretty

Next, it is employee owned. Everyone inside seems to care about making you a happy customer because they own a stake in it. Lastly, this place is massive! I can't rally explain to you how massive. It is 242,000 square feet of groceries. For scale, that is 15 commercial Boeing 737 jetliners inside or 395 full sized semi trucks or the entire New York City Central Park Zoo! It has every food you could imagine with every gluten free, keto, and zero sugar option my family craves. Want that Mountain Dew Voltage raspberry soda you thought was long gone? Yep! Want those Keto ice cream bars that taste better than standard ice creams? Yep! You got a customer for life. Well done!

In need of household goods, we made the trek and figured there was at least a few options available. We were wrong, this place is not a typical grocery store. It's a food emporium, with tons of aisles and plenty of choices. Was surprised they didn't have any manned stations (meat, deli, and fish usually have someone there with fresh products). This place just has more aisles. And while we might have one or two cases of a specific type of item, you got full aisles. And not just one aisle, but multiple. And many different brands and types. It's impressive to say the least. The discover only for card payments was a little weird. But not an issue since they take cash. Price was fairly reasonable as well. All-in-all, a fun trek for a mundane task. If you need to find a product, check woodsman's. They probably got it

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! UPDATE!!! I cannot believe how much Woodman's has raised their prices! They are now higher than Whole Foods and Jewel's!!! I am shocked! Well I guess I won't be driving over 20 miles to go to Woodman's anymore. This is ridiculous. But you can't really blame them entirely. It's the POS in the White House that is mostly to blame. You can probably find just about anything you need there. It kind of reminded me of Meijer but larger. The layout of the store is very confusing. Specialty items like gluten-free items can be mixed in with regular items, set off by themselves, or both. So, finding them wasn't that easy. From what we read of Woodman's before going, the did get good reviews on the amount and variety of gluten-free products. The same can be said for anything dairy-free. Their TV commercials talk about their great prices. I agree the items we saw on sale tended to be bargain, but the rest of the store seemed high. They are probably less expensive than Jewel, but more expensive than Valli Produce. We did get a lot while we were there and the total price was higher than we expected. So, overall, if you check their website for items on sale and you are near to a Woodman's, then by all means, the value is great. But if you don't live close to a Woodman's (like me), they aren't a great value but do have lots of specialty items.

Like most people, I order online regularly. Amazon has become the Walmart of online shopping--you click and buy. I'm a Prime member and order weekly, so I feel it's important to point out that as a Prime customer, I almost never receive my orders within the promised 48 hours. Yet every time I place an order, that delivery window is what's advertised. As usual, the driver marked the package as delivered and uploaded a photo. The problem? The photo was of a random fence. Not my home. Not my porch. A fence. And that was accepted as "proof of delivery." I'm livid. This isn't just a careless driver--this reflects Amazon's broken delivery process and poor hiring standards. Who thinks snapping a picture of a random fence counts as evidence? It's pure incompetence. To make things worse, when you try to get help, you're forced into a scripted chat system routed overseas, where the agents clearly aren't trained to actually troubleshoot real issues. After explaining that my delivery never arrived, Amazon offered me $5 as compensation. Five dollars--for items that cost more in shipping and tax alone. I spend my hard-earned money faithfully with this billion-dollar company, yet there's no real accountability, no genuine apology, and no urgency to fix repeated delays that stretch into weeks. Instead, they add insult to injury with a $5 offer, as if that somehow makes things right. So I want people to understand exactly how companies like this see you and your money. They don't value loyalty. They don't care about inconvenience. And they certainly don't care about the customer once they've already been paid.

The discounts they apply to Amazon Prime members really helps, too.
