Like most people, I order online regularly. Amazon has become the Walmart of online shopping--you click and buy. I'm a Prime member and order weekly, so I feel it's important to point out that as a Prime customer, I almost never receive my orders within the promised 48 hours. Yet every time I place an order, that delivery window is what's advertised. As usual, the driver marked the package as delivered and uploaded a photo. The problem? The photo was of a random fence. Not my home. Not my porch. A fence. And that was accepted as "proof of delivery." I'm livid. This isn't just a careless driver--this reflects Amazon's broken delivery process and poor hiring standards. Who thinks snapping a picture of a random fence counts as evidence? It's pure incompetence. To make things worse, when you try to get help, you're forced into a scripted chat system routed overseas, where the agents clearly aren't trained to actually troubleshoot real issues. After explaining that my delivery never arrived, Amazon offered me $5 as compensation. Five dollars--for items that cost more in shipping and tax alone. I spend my hard-earned money faithfully with this billion-dollar company, yet there's no real accountability, no genuine apology, and no urgency to fix repeated delays that stretch into weeks. Instead, they add insult to injury with a $5 offer, as if that somehow makes things right. So I want people to understand exactly how companies like this see you and your money. They don't value loyalty. They don't care about inconvenience. And they certainly don't care about the customer once they've already been paid. read more

Amazon Fresh gets mixed reviews. I like shopping there. They are not the least expensive grocery store, yet they are less than the local big box grocers. They are inconsistent in their stock - often gaps appear where something is out of stock. They also don't make it easy to find items where there are special needs, such as finding gluten-free items. Where they do have them, they are not localized in one area like you would find in other stores. We went in for a specific gluten-free item and just couldn't find it. We asked someone who works there and they said they didn't know where it was - that it could be anywhere. Regardless, I am usually able to find most of what we need. The discounts they apply to Amazon Prime members really helps, too. read more

We were in the area and made a first visit to this particular Amazon Fresh. Our go-to Amazon Fresh is the nearby Morton Grove store for reference. We noticed 4 notable differences from the Morton Grove store which has served our needs pretty well given the Prime membership discounts that we realize. The most important one, and one the wife noticed, is that the prices here are more competitive than in Morton Grove. We surmised that was just due to the presumably stiffer grocery competition in Schaumburg. A second difference is the produce department has more offerings. A third difference is they have a Krispy Kreme stand here for what that's worth. Finally, a fourth difference is the temperature in here is actually reasonable and comfortable as opposed to the usually frigid conditions in Morton Grove lol. Whenever I come to town, I really love another nearby location of Amazon Fresh. Sadly, a trip to this location left something to be desired. There was a couple of smart carts sitting near the entrance so of course I started there. That's when I realized why they were abandoned- they didn't work! Once I was able to find a working cart and able to sign in, I was on my way to pick up a few things while I was in town. I tried to scan a case of generic type water because it was cheaper than the 8 or 6 packs. We tried to scan at least 3 cases and it wouldn't take so we ended up getting an 8 pack of Dasani water, that scanned right away. Of course - it's way more expensive! It took us way longer in the store than it should have, but I still love shopping at Amazon Fresh. read more

We really like this place. It's a bit further out for our regular shopping but we always enjoy coming here. Lately the food on the hot bar has been looking a little worn/subpar but otherwise, great experience. The young Man working the deli and pizza counter on 7/20/25 is absolutely horrible. I have been ignored by him several times. He purposely doesn't want to help customers and has a terrible attitude. Today I finally told the store manager. I hope he can get the young man's attitude corrected to understand a job is a privilege , not a right, and customers make his paycheck possible. I came here at around noon hoping to get some quick grocery shopping done during my lunch break. I didn't use the cart for Amazon shopping this time as I had a baby seated in the front of the cart. I appreciated the cleanliness, bright lighting and fresh veggies at the store. All was good until I got to the self checkout... I had about 6 items that I grabbed because it was on sale and none of them ringed up with the sale price. The staff at the front scanned one of the items and it displayed the sale cost when he scanned it on his scanner but he insisted that he'd need to walk over to see the sale price for himself..and for each item. I honestly was going to just walk away without making any purchases but resulted in ending up running back and forth to take pictures of the sale items to show the staff...which he very slowly had to see the phone pictures while zooming in. This was very inconvenient and frustrating that after I came back with the images on my phone...he had little trust and had to read aloud the items and the costs. He was nice but having to slowly view my phone pictures and also not trusting that his scanner had the correct price wad frustrating. The store was short staffed and the manager didn't come to help in any way either. .. I came here another time and enjoyed the Amazon Go experience using the cart with the scanner but I didn't think the deals were always the best and with the place being short staff, not sure this would be my first place to go for groceries... The little punk who works the Krispy Kreme section at 9pm on Saturday nights literally called me back at my home number to berate me because he gave me half my order, then when he said it wasn't his problem I told him he had really crappy customer service. On my last visit, I was in the store 15 minutes and returned to damage to my car that someone did AND TOOK OFF! Really?! Who does that!? They have quite a lot of aisle and options. I've had Amazon Fresh delivered to me for a while as a Prime Customer so I was already quite familiar with the quality, prices, and selection of the food. This weekend I was in the area and finally decided to visit the store in person to get the futuristic shopping experience that I heard of, and I was pleasantly surprised. If you envision Amazon as a company that is fast paced, high volume, efficient, innovative, data driven, and utilizes effective design, this store is for you. Since I've been to probably every other Amazon retail concept, this store was not a surprise for me at all in terms of design and operation. The parking lot is fairly large, with one way traffic flow, and well marked and maintained. Carts and baskets are plentiful, returned frequently to ensure availability for the next customer. Selection appears to be optimized, so while you don't have an enormous selection like Woodman's, you will find all the common items you'd looking for without an issue. I'd imagine this is data driven and items without good sales velocity and high ratings will get replaced by others on the shelf. The shelves are meticulously maintained with neatly arranged stock, stacked fairly high, with a very logical sequence of labels and vertical arrangement. I did not get too much employee interaction during my visit though there were plenty of employees working. It did seem that they were very focused on maintaining the store to standards and ones that I did talk to provided quick and efficient responses. The Amazon store brands (Amazon fresh, Amazon kitchen, Aplenty, etc.) were quite a bit cheaper than other brands on the shelves and the quality of the items I bought were pretty good (was mostly looking for replacements for meal kits and desserts for the holidays). Despite being fairly busy, I feel the traffic flow within the store was pretty good so that I didn't run into too many other people. There were also Alexa stations to help guide me in case I needed help navigating the store. The dash carts were fun to use though I can see how it may be slightly frustrating for those who aren't familiar with their function as you need to access your account from an app you may not have downloaded ahead of time. You also need to make sure the cart can detect some type of bar code or something else to accurately add and remove items from the total. Once you understand that though, it's hard to imagine not shopping with a smart cart that keeps a running total of your purchases and provides suggestions. Overall, this store feels very Amazon to me and that works well for someone who wants a quick data driven shopping experience and confidence in buying good quality products even if they are not always the cheapest in every category. read more

So I'm one of those rare people who actually love going to the grocery store so I was super excited to see what this new style of grocery shopping was all about When you first walk in, you get the choice of if you want a dash smart cart, which we did select so we could get the "full experience." The associate was super friendly and helpful showing us how it worked and the cart also had a brief tutorial as well. Now that we had our Dash cart set up, the fun part. Basically you pick up items and the cart scans the items for you and tabulates your total on the touch screen. Some items were easier then others. Certain items with barcodes scanned super quickly and easy as soon as they hit the cart. Other items like produce, took having to enter a plu code. The cart does all the weighing too of items. Now the selection itself... the produce wasn't the freshest I have ever seen, nor was it very affordable, but they have everything you might need in a pinch. They have all the departments you would find in a typical grocery store like a meat and fish counter, deli (with pizza!), baked goods etc, so it was easy to find what you would at a typical grocery store. While most items are more expensive then the old school stores, I get that you are also paying for a novelty experience and that they really do have a vast and organized selection of dry foods/condiments. We also picked up some wild salmon which can be hard to spot at the "regular store" sometimes (that ended up being really nice) and a decent little rotisserie chicken for $5 After you're done shopping bam, go through the special dash lane and boom you are done! No pulling out a credit card or making small talk with the cashier, absolutely no lines. You're done. This service is limited to two bags for person and obviously you need to have an Amazon account for this to work, but as promised the checkout was the easiest I have ever experienced at any grocer. Will this become part of my regular grocery rotation.... No. But if I'm in the area and want to get in and out pretty quickly, this store is great for a few items!!! I would definitely come here at least once if you are a prime member, if just for the experience and a cheap slice of pizza. read more

My one suggestion that can improve the customer experience significantly while shopping at Amazon Fresh is to post signs at the dash cart lane that customers cannot take out dash carts from the store and to either carry the bags out from the dash cart or transfer the bags to a regular cart to put away groceries in the car. I am a senior citizen on assistance and shop here because we have no means of transportation. Prices have always been high. I try to only buy produce because it's usually excellent. The bagging was great with double bagging for 2 milks and a cardboard bottom. But lately they've gotten sloppy, putting 2 milks in one bag and the moisture makes it rip when I pick it up. This last trip I got a box of Philadelphia cream cheese with 2 in a box. One brick was fine, the other, when I opened it was moldy. I've never seen that. Date of EXP. Dec 2023. With Amazon's purchasing power, prices should be MUCH cheaper. If I could, I'd go south on Roselle Road to Valli Produce. Wider selection and great deli. read more

I went out of my way to visit this place thinking it was the new Amazon Whole foods new fully automated experience where you shop, put stuff in your pocket and walk out the front door and still get billed for the items because those amazon stores are designed that way. That was not the case at this store. The best and only automation they had were these cool smart shopping carts where as you drop items in the cart and the cart knows exactly what you took and bills you on your amazon account but the entire bill isn't charged until you physically walk through an automated checkout exit aisle. Really cool tech and because I'm a nerd I had to check it out but I had hoped it was the newer stores with the full automation not just the smart shopping carts. Prices though are insanely expensive!! A box of cereal was like $5 where you can get the same box for half that at Walmart. I certainly would not shop at this place if it were near my home, I don't care how cool the smart shopping carts were. read more

Been here several times shopping and meat selections are good, particularly the ground beef and chicken wings. The wings are clean and same size in the whole package, about 10 wings for the 3lb package. Good selections of groceries. Keep an eye out for the red tag clearance items. Tried the sushi for the first time today and it was delicious. Fish was fresh, just wished that not everything had spicy mayo drizzled on top. This store opened a few months ago. The store is neat, clean and very well organized. Most items seem a overpriced but there are some good deals to be found. They have a deli, bakery, salad bar, sushi and hot foods stations. We tried the sushi as they use wild caught seafood. It was the best I've had as I usually never buy store bought! I was amazed at the flavor, freshness and good price. We also tried the rotisserie chicken which we found to be the best rotisserie chicken out of all the stores around! There was hardly any fat and these are smaller which means there not all full of hormones. Grant you they are smaller in size but the quality is top notch. They have a lot of gourmet and specialty items that other stores don't have. The Amazon returns center is in the front right side of the store and is very convenient and easy to get in and out. read more

I have shopped at this store since opening. I've had friendly service and good shopping experiences. I enjoy their automatic carts. As long as you use them correctly, they work great. They don't hold all that much though. So, I usually use a normal cart (I often buy 24 packs of water that just don't work with the auto cart). Very often I find great deals here! They have a good selection. Some things you may not find. But overall they've had basically anything I've wanted. I would give them 5 stars. But, their "hot food" station is an absolute rip off. I only got food from there once. I got HALF a small cup of mashed potatoes & HALF a small cup of mac & cheese. Literally 2 very small servings of each. Got them to go along with the $5 rotisserie chicken. The sides were $11! They had zero seasoning as well. Shop here. But do not get any fresh hot food from here. read more

First time shopping at Amazon Fresh! I am so amazed at how convenient it was to shop and checkout with their electronic carts. No need to get out a wallet or phone to price check. Also, I love that I could see my total at any time so there's no guess work of how much it would be at the end. You can add items and take out just as easy and the cart will adjust. Everything was tied to your Amazon account including shopping lists. It was super easy and the price was competitive! I checked most items against Target and it was either same or cheaper Ah-mazing!! The best part? Being able to push the cart out at the end with no waiting time or going through my purse to take out a card to charge. The paper bags were already given to you at the start so need to waste time bagging groceries either. I'm a fan and look forward to coming back! read more

Was not notified that my items were out of stock until i arrived at the store. I clicked no substitutions on my order. The creamer was completely out of stock but still listed as in stock. The cheese is ordered was a big bag, they substituted with 5 small bags instead. I wont ever be doing a pickup order again. This was ridiculous. Never have the food I need, nearly everything is near it's expired date. Terrible selection of natural/healthy or gluten-free foods. They have gotten rid of their fresh meat/seafood seafood area, which I loved. Their prices have drastically increased, even though they claim "low prices". BS Everything is very overpriced now. Prime Members are to receive at least 10% off everything, every time they shop. Sometimes 20% with promo code. I shopped there last night for a few items, after I needed to return an Amazon purchase. You automatically receive a $10.00 grocery coupon, if you return your Amazon item to a Fresh Store. The girl working in Amazon returns was too busy having a personal conversation with her coworker, when I came up to do my return. She did not great me, did not look at me, just grabbed my return item and kept on talking to her coworker and then said- to me: "anything else"? I was like- are you serious? Then I asked her: Aren't customers automatically supposed to receive a $10.00 grocery coupon upon using the Return department? She grabbed a coupon and shoved it at me. The absolute WORST customer service out there. Then, when I checked out my small grocery purchase- the checkout person did not ring up my Prime 10% discount. I asked her why- she just stood there acting like she had no idea what I was talking about. I advised her why she did not know Prime members always receive 10% off their purchase and sometimes 20% of with promo code. The employees here need classes in customer service. At the deli they literally act like they don't see you or that it's a privilege for them to wait on you. No one smiles. No one greets you. The fish department smells. I have brought this to management's attention and they agreed with me but yet nothing has changed. My entire career has been in seafood and fish should never smell. I just had my first shopping experience at this store and I was very disappointed by the poor customer service and overall culture of this location. At first, I was impressed by all the busy workers and the organization/cleanliness of the aisles. Then as I shopped I came to realize that all the workers were not focused on my needs, or making my shopping experience enjoyable/easy. No, they were all in their own little worlds, their focus tied to whatever quotas and performance expectations they have for the online orders they are tasked with filling. The workers running around with shopping carts act like you aren't even there, and are incredibly rude. It's like going to the grocery store that is full to capacity, but replace half of the customers with teenagers who are in a rush, and/or gossiping with each other. Also, only certain carts have the technology you need to not have to go through a checkout line. And when I was there all of these carts were unavailable so I had to use a "regular cart" and use the checkout. read more

Amazon Fresh - 3 stars: We were out in the Schaumburg area and came across an Amazon Fresh - since we are soon to get one of our own in Orland Park we thought we'd stop in and try it on. In sum, nice grocery store but all the tech stuff is more show than go. When we entered we wanted to try the special carts that keep track of your purchases and calculate weights and prices. Getting the app on your phone was necessary, and then signing in with your credit card or using your stored card. So there is some small hassle to begin with, but then we were plugged in. Moving up and down the aisles was pretty standard stuff ... Amazon Fresh has most of the usual items you'd find in any grocery store and only a few specials, but it really doesn't corner the market on anything. Think of it as a Whole Foods store with special carts. The special carts are able to scan items and add them to your total. For fresh fruits & vegetables you usually have to input a PLU number, so the cart knows what it is and can weigh/price it properly. This is what the checkout person used to do. In addition, the special carts are a bit small so you really cannot load up and sail out the door even though it keeps track of purchases and prices. Interestingly, you cannot take the special carts outside anyway - so on exiting the store you have to empty your cart and schlep whatever you bought on your own. One more reason why big orders don't fit the profile. I think next time we'd just shop the old-fashioned way with a big cart and go through the normal check-out process with a person or use self-checkout. The special carts were fun but more of a gimmick than a current reality. But that said, this is probably the way of the future - just not today. The tech level needed will leave half the buying public clueless, but in a decade or two enough of the younger more tech-savvy generations will be of age for this chore to make it more applicable. Right now we think this way of high-tech shopping fits only for small quick orders and the younger set who are already plugged in. The older set who shop once a week and stock up won't find much here unless they use the regular checkouts. In the end, a grocery store is still just a grocery store. This effort to turn an analog errand into a digitized one (and to lower employee expenses) is a bit early for the market. read more

The selections of items were limited and priced considerably higher than a local grocery store such as a Jewel. I love Amazon Fresh!! My 1st time at the fresh store this morning and my experience was great. The employees were really friendly and helpful. They have that cool shopping cart that scans and weights your items which by the way is very user friendly but if you do need help it will be explained to you by one of their friendly employees that are right at the front. If you don't want to deal with the fancy cart there are also the regular carts that are available to you. You don't have to be an Amazon member to shop here. Everyone's welcome to shop. The prices are competitive and I'd didn't think they priced any items higher then our other grocery stores in the neighborhood. Some items I did notice are even cheaper. Pizza by the slice available and rotisserie chicken. They really have everything that you need. Tip - if you are using the Amazon cart, don't overfill it. Items won't be able to scan and your cart will flash red. No big deal but then you'll have to go to a register during checkout and won't be able to walk trough the easy checkout lane where you would automatically check out (without even putting your items on a belt and wasting your time-if you're in a rush) and then get your receipt emailed to you. Really cool experience. If you haven't been or not an Amazon fan you should still just go and at least check out the store. read more

This was my first time and my last. I asked for information to a man filling produce and he seemed annoyed by my questions. The shopping experience was nice with decent prices and selection. Checking out sealed it for me to never return. The cashier picked up the bottle of febreeze fabric freshener by the lid and the bottle fell and splashed all over me some of my grocery and the counter. The cashier grabbed the paper towels wiped counter never offered me paper towels i had to ask for some and then wipe my own groceries off and she did ask if i wanted to go get another bottle of what she spilled. then didn't scan all my groceries in one order and basically accused me of being the reason it spilled read more
