I stopped by this Dollar Tree location to get some snacks for my wife. The prices for the snacks are very affordable so you can't go wrong getting it from here. I found parking easily in the medium size plaza this store is in. They had one cashier line when I walked in and the line was backing up but then they open a second cashier line so it helped speed things up. The staff here was very friendly. It's a dollar tree... you know what you get yourself into by coming in these. Low or weird quality items and long lines. This one has A LOT of party type stuff, anything that a kids bday party could need takes up an entire wall of the store, but what I like here is the amount of craft supplies that can be found. Usually they're smaller things but there's some decent finds such as all the unfinished wood items. I also enjoy the regional snacks and drinks you're bringing in from other places. What I despise is the massive line almost everytime I come in at almost any of your stores, but in particularly this one I'm reviewing. There's also people almost always arguing with each other here over the line itself or with whatever the cashier is saying. Pretty sure only 2 people work here at a time at any given hour in a day, and that means 1 is at the register and the other is hiding inside that mirror window manager box. I've never seen more than 1 line open even if everyone's complaining vocally that they need another register opened. I went in the other day and there were 8 people ahead of me, and 2 lines were forming behind a single line, because there was no room for people to stand and nothing in control of where the line is supposed to go. Another man brought in a very large dog that was barking at people and making them uncomfortable. The man with the dog started getting attitude with people about the line splitting because he felt people were cutting him in line. He had this big dog to intimidate people with, so he got a few people to move out of his way in line, so I just left instead of arguing because this store has no control. I wasn't interested in yet another ex-con wanting to fight in Dollar Tree. The old woman at the register was taking an absolute eternity to get through each customer and she's the only visible employee my entire visit. They had another 6 people behind me as I was leaving and they were all trying to figure out where the line was, and we had been standing there for several minutes already without taking any step forward. I know how this type of store works. They don't care. They barely survive due to the margin they make money off of each item. So you can't expect any type of service and you can't expect really anything of this place whatsoever, other than waiting in a long line and probably having some rando try and get into a fight with you. The cashier is an empty drone. The store opens and sells items because it exists, not because anyone actually wants to be there. I'm also pretty sure I've been here in this cycle with Dollar Tree before where you've really pissed me off and I give it some time and come back, but I think I need to break this cycle of insanity and stay away permanently now. I don't expect your employees to bust out and defend me and kick the man with the dog out and speed up the line because I've arrived at checkout, but this is just the type of experiences I've come to accept with Dollar Tree and I can't do it anymore. read more

DollarTree had plenty healthy snacks, and bought most of them. I only went in for cleaning products... Then, it was like brandname, gluten-free, awww I was raised with that... And I can deal with those groceries for a little bit because I'm single. More than half added up to over-priced because of the size. But this isn't a bulk savings store. It's like use now and that's it. So, one of everything's good. There's seasonal decorations, greeting cards, books and probably everything for basic everyday living. I love Dollar Tree. It's always clean, and they offer so many cool little trinkets that I have absolutely no need for, all for a buck. This just opened in the new "Sun Valley Marketplace." Their hours are great, the store is brand new, and the staff is nice. Right now, they have cute glassware for the holidays, great cards for 50 cents, and fun little Christmas ornaments. Parking is plentiful, next to Papa John's and Bud's Donuts. Bring your own bags, though, as they charge. read more

Staff is very rude. Service is extremely slow. A man named Jose was extremely rude to my legally blind mother who asked to use the restroom. He ignored her the first she asked, when she asked a second time he said "yes we have a restroom but I'm busy" and dismissed her, we waited 15 minutes for the single cashier they had on to help us. The cashier Carolina, was equally rude when she spoke to us and ignored our questions. We will not be returning to his dollar tree again. read more

Every Dollar Tree, 99cent store, target, sprouts, Lowes, Macy's etc ( you get the idea) NEEDS TO HIRE whoever is managing this dollar tree in Sun Valley. Yes the Lines can sometimes be long and get a little frustrating I do agree. However, I have never ever ever been in a store this consistly neat, clean, and organized. Anytime of the day, whenever you come in it is always neat and makes shopping much easier . Other $.99 stores are usually extremely depressing but this one is not. Kudos to the managers and the workers. The managers especially, need a raise. Whoever owns this store you must, I repeat must ,give your managers a raise. I thank them whenever I go into the store. Guess I shouldn't expect much from a dollar tree but I do expect customer service from anywhere I go. I tend to avoid places like this and would rather pay the extra bucks to go to target or other stores but it's right by my house and had to buy stuff for a party so thought we'd save a few bucks anywhere we could. First off it's a mess, looks like a tornado hit. Stuff all over the floor, odd smell all kinds of disaster in there and this is on a Monday, would hate to see this place on a weekend. I had already bought these packs of crayons and asked if they had any more. The girl tells me they were recalled, oh great if I didn't bother asking would've handed these out to my kid and others putting them in harms way. Maybe put a sign out or something saying it was recalled rather than us having to ask. As we were checking out, line was taking forever ( one employee couldn't even ring up another employee buying chips and a soda on her break) line was growing even heard somebody say their ice cream was going to melt before they paid ha. I had to order a few balloons for a party, keep in mind I came in 2 1/2 weeks in advance to place my order. Real simple 4 of the gold star balloons, even told the girl your gonna have them right that's why I'm ordering them today, she just said yea come the day and they'll be ready, charged me and we were out. Come back morning of the party of course they don't have the balloons, what was the point of me placing an order early, I have no idea. In the end I learned don't go to dollar tree, they sell recalled shit, expired or close to it items and don't care about orders placed. read more

Manager is rude and makes comments he should not be making in front of customers. I was in line and over heard him talking badly about another employee to a male cashier. Also, when the lines get long, he does not jump in to help his employees. I like the female employees, but the new male employee they have is super slow and rude. This is one of the best Dollar Tree I've visited. The associates are very friendly especially Caroline, Kevin and Lupe. Even the ones who aren't outgoing are very kind and have great personalities. Nancy has a warm smile, Virginia has a infectious laugh and Selina is a jokester The store is well stocked and it's amazing the kind of items you can get for one dollar. With good people and great value this store is very busy. The only drawback is the amount of shoplifting that occurs in this store so if you see anyone stealing please tell the security guard or store manager. One thing that stood out to me was the way the store manager was yelling at her from across the room. Bad experience I was buying a few holiday reduced products 4/$1 and was charged $1 each and in the end they ended up giving me a bunch of candy and called it even. When I got home I noticed they charged me $22 for 8 items and a bunch of candy bags and all my other items weren't ranged up!. I should had paid attention but they messed it all up for not wanting to refund me and make voids in their system and have the store look good. the store is cleaner than most they have nice variety but they could have a better electronics section one of the assistant managers i think her name is mary is always really nice and helpful ive noticed she has a rapport with regular customers like myself since i always hear a hi mary when regulars walk in i like that so i gave them an extra star or else it would have been 3 that being said most cashiers are nice but they have some bad ones like jessica she would rather look at her phone than help you annette is slow and if your a regular like i am at times cashiers jessica and stephanie seem like there dumber than a bag of rocks christina andrea and virgina are great the others are just ok also the manager jose could learn to deal with customers better i feel like he just says what he has to to get rid of you its like just buy the stuff and get out but other than that the store itself is great although sometimes its a wait since upper managment doesnt want to hire more cashiers for a busy store (its not the cashiers or assistant managers fault i know i used to work in a store) read more
