This store has everything. Some items are brand name. I check it out when I need items such as greeting cards, party supplies, office/school supplies, some cleaning and storage. They have a large variety of food items but I have not purchased except for an occasional snack. The store is clean and orderly. The staff is efficient and pleasant. Lines can get very long but since prices are pretty basic and clear there is rarely an issue. read more

Probably the 4th or 5th closest Dollar Tree from our home, so was the first time being here. Dollar Trees tend to vary greatly in size, and this one wasn't the largest one we've been to. But it was very stocked and organized. Prices ranged from $1.25 to the more common $1.75, and some specialty items reaching $4.75. Like others, there were overpriced frozen food and bagged snack items, but this store had quite a few perishable food items...so the product turnover here must be quite good. It even had a working self price check scanner, which worked (since no item was priced, instead depending on the price on the shelf where the item came from). Alas, there was no 'can't believe I found this' items at this store, but we still ended up buying quite a few things. A few weeks ago I bought reading glasses. I later realized that one earpiece is bent and I can't use it. The tag is still on. I went to the store and told the lady that they are damaged and it hurts to wear them. She told me to pick out another pair. Then I bought conditioner and cookies. Carlos the miserable manager doesn't like to talk to customers. He doesn't answer you when you talk to him. I asked about two things and got silence the first time and the second time I asked if they had a specific kind of candle. He said candles are three aisles over. I know that Carlos, but I didn't see the kind I was asking for. But he walked off. No manners, no care, just complacent and unhappy. But I guess he just wants the paycheck. I do appreciate the new employees though, at least they are friendly. I would go elsewhere for a more pleasant shopping experience. Employees were nice to the customers and it's neat inside. BUT, while I was getting checked out we witnessed one of the managers being rude to the cashier. There was a very long line at the register and his manager was at the register behind working as well, and she just starting being so bossy and rude to him she was asking him to do something while he was working and she rolled her eyes at him. It really made me annoyed because why is she doing that while hes trying to do his job, especially infront of the other customers. Very inconsiderate and overly bossy manager. read more

It's Dollar Tree! These stores are so much fun to shop. They have so many different items that are priced to move. Now, we know they have a lot of different items. On my last visit I was looking for 2 different items; Serving spoons for a barbecue outing and funnel for general use. There was a large selection on the spoons. We were pleased with our selection. As for the funnel, no luck. We actually had to go elsewhere to meet this need. Each Dollar Tree is stocked slightly different. That just adds to the adventure. They are fun to shop! read more

Although I do love this store, I must say that their manager Carlos is not the best. He mistreats his employees in front of customers which in my opinion is extremely rude and disrespectful. He's not very approachable as he always seems upset. Today in particular we witness how he spoke down to his only cashier because she asked for backup and a manager twice. His tone was unnecessary. It's about time this Cali-girl reviews this interesting neighborhood store. I'm used to the occasional visit to the 99. store in North Long Beach and on Carson street so when they were building this store in Signal Hill I wasn't exactly thrilled at the prospect of having one in my neighborhood because they seem to be everywhere. It's next to petco so that makes it easier to stop in on a whim. It's a large store filled with STUFF and it's a bit overwhelming because of all the variety. I'm remodeling my condo and I see soo many interesting things. I found cute containers in so many colors perfect to store my winter clothes. Cute jars and drinking glasses and knicknacks perfect to store food products like pasta and candy or as a decor for my bathroom counters and my bedroom. I'm a writer and they have isles of paper products pens pencils stencils books tablets and more for this gal to get her creative writing on. Sweet and dainty little towels perfect for my guest bathroom. Soaps and body washes many varieties from which to choose. Party supplies Perfect for mom and dads on a budget Cute simple and fancy napkins plates real and paper, neat wrapping paper strings and bows. Big and small gift bags in the cutest colors and designs. Oodles of gifts all varieties for men women children and more to stuff into those cute gift bags at your parties or for overnight guests. For the fur kids: Dog food and doggy snacks they have quite the variety but my Dylan won't eat any because she's a tad spoiled and I make my dog homemade food fresh daily with meat and veggies. Lol This would be perfect for the pet mom or dad on a budget. ................... Food products: Not too many that I'm familiar with but there are some brand names you will recognize. A blogger I watch on YouTube swears by the food at dollar tree and cooks the most delicious food on YouTube and Instagram from some of her dollar tree hauls. See -- iheartrecipes - by Rosie she's an amazing cook. I found a few interesting things to try. Jamaican chicken and beef patties. The filling is tasty and the crust isn't bad but do not overheat them or it will become hard flakey and fall apart. I like the beef best they also have veggie and it pretty tasty too as a cook I prefer homemade but these will do when I don't feel like cooking. If you love Easter... They have isles of the cutest Easter decorations soo much variety of candy cookies baskets plastic eggs and soo much more perfect for children and the grownup who love to decorate they're homes and make those pretty Easter baskets. Nestea peach tea It's pretty good and the right size to store in my refrigerator although it doesn't have much peach juice so I limit my consumption of this one. Nathan's hot dogs When I heated this it was a soggy mess from the freezer to the microwave, I probably won't buy this again or at the very least I'll heat the hot dog and bun separately to see if it will taste better. White Castle hamburgers: They are a little soggy when heated in the microwave and taste just ok I probably won't buy these again. They have a huge selection of food I'd recommend you buy one to see if you like the brand and then return to buy more of whatever you found tasty. ................... I have a huge haul coming up and I'll post my pictures at that time. If I had to choose I'd say I prefer the 99. because they have also fresh vegetables and sandwich meats m... Only one person working most of the time, really long lines and the girl at the register is RUDE. She treats customers badly and is super bossy. Not sure why she's there. Also, she plays her own loud rap music on her phone which is annoying. She screams out at the customers in line telling them they need to have their form of payment ready before getting to the register. It's really bad! Who the heck is the manager, why is she allowed to do that? Store is messy, will not be going back to this dollar store. Worst experience ever. I've given up. Absolutely poor customer service. Staff are extremely rude, unmotivated, slow and unfriendly. In particular the cashier in checkout lane 2 at 2:10pm today 11/13. My 6 year old begged to use the restroom and when I was asked if one was a available I got the world's stupidest stare followed by "yea..." 5 seconds later "it is closed." I love Dollar Tree deals and this is by far my favorite Dollar Tree store around! Its more organized and clean, and easier to walk through than the store on South. The employees have always been super nice too. I love that there is always a good selection of mylar balloons and I can make a quick last minute stop for a cheap bunch... I've done so for birthday surprises and graduations! This is also the place to buy serving plates, bowls, platters, napkins, and paper plates and plastic utensils for big gatherings when you don't want to use the good stuff at home, but still want something that looks good. This store also has a GREAT school/office supply selection. I was so surprised and excited to find just how much stuff they have. Forget Target! Can't beat the deals, so stock up here! read more

This dollar tree has a fantastic card selection and to top it off, many are TWO for a dollar, which blows my mind. Had I not already purchased several cards prior to this visit I would have bought two or even three times as many as I did today. Definitely my new go-to spot to grab a celebratory note. Additionally, this is also one of the few stores that still offer Mylar Balloons. There's a shortage of helium, so many discount stores no longer carry them... but not this one! Woohoo! read more

They get three stars because they were fully stocked while other dollar trees had the bare minimum. Other than that they get a ding for customer service. Since COVID there are markers on the floor designated for Yu to stand in line. I stood on a marker only to get yelled at by the cashier that he's taking people from the line. I did not understand what he meant and I wasn't really given any instruction about what was going on. No one really knew where the should stand. This Dollar Tree is in a great location and the selection is good. Unfortunately, the personnel completely lacks in costumer service. Between the bullying manner of the store manager, Carlos, and the uncaring attitude of the front cashier, Theresa (older Latina woman with dyed black hair), they make shopping here a nightmare. But If you just want to buy and do not need to interact with either one of them, then you'll be fine. However, should you need help with something, do read the other one star reviews as they are accurate in describing their behavior and can help you avoid any surprises. If I could give this review less than one star I would today I stopped here on my way to work and while I was shopping I realized I had dropped my key somewhere I was looking around the store and realized I might've dropped them at Rite Aid where I had been earlier so I walked over there and I walked back to store and start to look around I realized I still couldn't find it so I sat on the floor of this dirty dollar tree and took items out of my purse it was up this point at all however while I was sitting there going through my own items the store manager Carlos approached me I said Hey has anyone turned in a set oc keys no I said oh OK I'm sorry and he said to me would you mind taking my merchandise out of your purse I said what merchandise he said the merchandise I saw your stuff in your purse a few minutes ago z.... i said oh these and he grabbed fhem from my hand ... i zaid hey that is mine and he said well were is your recipt ... I said I didn't get one because I never return anything. He just kept saying to me I'm calling the police if you don't return my merchandise I said can I please look at them store little bit more if I can find my keys he said no I'm trespassing you and calling police because you stole merchandise at that's why I took the items in my purse has room on the counter and said fine I don't care about $3.50 here I just want my keys he kept saying I know you have more I said no I don't the rest of my personal items and you may not touch them at that point I walked outside and sat down he came out and told me that he was trespassing eating entire complex I said don't even try. I walked back to Rite Aid and the store employees at Omai gosh your keys were just returned by a lady from dollar tree brought them over at that point I just took my keys got in my car and drove away. I will never return to the dollar tree because this manager was beyond repulsive he had no compassion no nothing I was going to ask him if I could plug my phone in since it died at least to charge and I didn't even bother I'm going to report this to their corporate offices but I highly doubt I'll do anything because of course it'll be the managers word against mine steel I stole do you know I didn't and when I contacted the dollar tree I had been at previously he said do you want to call over there and tell them that you purchased those items at that point I said no it's no big deal I'll just buy them at another store it's not worth the $3.50 that he cost of a headache read more

Ran in to get 2 items, guessing it would be a quick 5 minutes from start to finish. Boy was I wrong...left at 4pm (30 minutes!). The time was "rush hour" for this store location: 3:30pm. Only 1 cashier with the line of customers going down the asile and 1 employee helping with balloons. Several people in line getting upset and complaining to open another register. The flustered employee said "we'll be right with you...there's only two of us in the store." That upset more customers. Chatter was going around as to why they did not have more employees scheduled to work at this very busy time. Why did I wait? I really needed the items. If not, I would have dropped and left! Called corporate to notify. Bad buzz about these types of experiences = lower sales. Hope they do something about it, especially when customers share their experience on social media to notify others as I am doing here. read more

I live in Lakewood area and take the bus so I take a backpack. Immediately as I walk in the manager immediately follows me, I understand I may look suspicious. When i got my basket full of what I needed I headed to checkout and the manager talked to the cashier. I knew something was about to go down. As I took my wallet out the manager asked me to give him my backpack, knowing there was nothing stolen I gave it too him. He gave it back then while I was walking out he told me not to come back to his store. Bachelorette party stuff: - plastic champagne flutes 2 for $1 - Balloons, balloon pump - gold, black, hot pink plastic ware, table cloths, etc.... And don't forget the cute holiday decor! Fall/Halloween stuff, and cute Christmas ornaments. I've made numerous Christmas garlands and decorated my tree with supplies all from Dollar Tree. This location is big. The frozen food section is great! But they have a "no backpacks, limited 'high-school" kids allowed" policy. The frame price is great too and many of the frames are very nice. Ironically a great inexpensive place for high school age people to get gifts for Mom's/Dad's/friends. Next door Rite Aid can print your picture and you can get a frame at Dollar Tree. The also have a great glass isle. I go here for wine glasses to go with bottled wine that I gift. They seem to have a bit of everything through out the store. These items are a Dollar, so even though my hanging baskets were practically a steal, I don' t see them lasting more than a couple of years. I go into this store numerous times during the week and put together gifts twice a month for 50 offices each time. I have shopped at this store exclusively for the gifts. I accidentally bought 4 bowls that were the wrong pattern and could not find this one receipt, the manager would not let me trade for the correct pattern. I will definately take my business to the Dollar Tree on Wardlow in Los Alamitos as the manager was nice enough to exchange for me. read more

I'm rarely in this area, but I stopped by because I'm on a nail polish Frankening kick and I need some raw materials. What a disappointment! They had a little nail polish, but it was the off-brand crappy stuff from China. No Revlon, no L'oreal, not even any Maybelline. I did buy a pack of cotton rounds (I stopped by Big Lots next and found a larger pack for the same amount. And tons of drugstore polish for $1 per bottle). Anyway I skimmed the aisles before I left though, and didn't find anything else. I did however, run into an aunt haven't seen in 20 years in the parking lot, which was enough of an omen for me to never return. It's always so awkward, isn't it? It's family, but we both know that we have nothing in common and won't bother getting in touch again, and no, I'm not coming to your kid's wedding because look, I barely know YOU on sight, let alone a cousin I haven't seen since she was 5 years old, innocently scratching her crotch in front of her astonished and giggling teenage cousins. I can't go to her wedding because it would just be too... weird. And let's face it, the crotch-scratching story would not be cute to anybody, all right?
