I was standing there like... wow, this lady woke up ready for battle today. What's funny is she also had her own music playing and was talking on the phone while working. If anyone wants to check the camera, it was around 10:35 AM. In my heart though, I just stayed calm. I believe the Lord is working in me, and I try to carry peace wherever I go. Sometimes people feel like because they're older or having a bad day they can talk however they want. But at the end of the day we're all just people trying to get through the day. I have a huge problem with this Dollar Tree location! They charge everyone at least 10 cent for bags even when the costumers say they do not need a bag. I saw a customer confront the cashier about the charge when she did not use a Dollar Tree bag and the cashier would not take it off the sale nor give the customer her 10 cents back. Instead, she was pretty nasty and told the customer to come back and get the plastic bag if she wanted it. The cashier practically threw the bag at her. When she rung up my purchase, I told her I did not need a bag. She still added a 10 cent charge to my sale. Nasty! So dishonest! I refused to argue with her over 10 cents, paid and left the store. This store is making money over reusable bags on every customer whether or not they want or take a bag. Will not be shopping at this Dollar Store location! read more

The Dollar Tree is now $1.25, just FYI. Not a surprise after numerous years in business and expectedly, inflation has hit all of us! I'm still a fan of Dollar Tree stores. I noticed this store located in the Winco shopping center while shopping for holiday food items. We needed Christmas wrap and boxes specifically geared for children, along with Christmas and birthday cards, which happens all in the same month! They had a limited supply, but we were able to settle on what they had left, which worked out well in our favor. This store is a little smaller than the ones closer to my house, but even though it was pretty busy with last minute shoppers, our experience was somewhat quick and efficient as we waited in the long line. The store was pleasantly calm with polite customers, neat, clean and fairly well stocked. Unlike some stores I have patronized, this Dollar Tree fulfilled our expectations for carrying a little bit of everything, whether you are a name brand snob or budget conscious! read more

I went into this Dollar Tree location on 2/18/25 around 8:55pm to purchase some snacks before heading to the movie theater. I was followed around by some short, older Indian/Middle Eastern lady. I didn't think much into it and continued to shop. While I was in line, the same lady locked the front doors. I thought this was odd since it's not normal to lock a store's doors until all customers have left. I know this because I work at a retail store. As I was trying to exit through the locked doors, the same lady barely opened the sliding doors wide enough for me to exit. She didn't say anything to me as I was leaving, but had a mean facial expression as she stared at me. This was the oddest experience I have ever had at a Dollar Tree location. I went here a couple weeks ago to get some more gift bags for the holidays. There was still a good amount of Christmas items left compared to other Dollar Tree stores in a December. The store was clean and the staff members were friendly. This is the first Dollar Store location in the area that have opened up more than one check-out register in a timely manner. For instance, many of the others would have only one register opened- even though there's over 10+ people in line. For this location, they opened up two more registers within minutes. Good job guys! The only complaint I have was the cashier- he accidentally charged me for an extra item. I only realized it once I got home. Not a big deal, BUT I could've gotten another item with that dollar! Lol. He was really friendly and nice though. The store was clean and the staff members were friendly compared to other Dollar Tree store locations that I've been to. Okay, I know, it's dollar free. I get it. You can't expect much. I'm giving the five star review for the excellent variety of products - particularly, craft supplies - this store carries. Of the three in the Elk Grove area, this one has the BEST selection. Whoever does their merchandise display has this store in great shape. I am writing this review in early September and this store has Halloween, Fall, and yes even some holiday craft supplies now. Yeah it's hotter than hades, but they probably sell this stuff fast. I just left this store and am speechless! I've been coming to this location for years and I'm unsure what's been going on the last few months. This is the 3rd time we've in a month and it's soooo dirty! Floors look FILTHY, product EVERYWHERE, items completely unorganized. Are they undergoing new management, just seems like there is no guidance happening: I seen several employees standing around stocking the (overfilled) shelves, but didn't seem to care they're stepping on products already not put away?? I am not bougie by any means, this just falls into being unsanitary and I want to be happy spending my money somewhere that appreciates it and gives a shit if the environment is clean and safe for my children that I shop with. read more

Moved here two years ago and I'm at this store at least once a week for little things. Every time every one is super friendly and goes out there way to help me. However the last few times I've been in crisis mode gather things for my daughters school project. Unfortunately, I didn't get the names of the ladies that helped me the time before last but Bella went above and beyond this time assisting me with gathering all the items I needed for what I needed to build. This location is usually well stocked and clean and that's what the 2 stars are for. They have horrible costumer service here. Robin (a shift manager) has one of the worst attitudes of anyone I've ever met. She also allowed 2 employees to leave with a case of Kleenex each- meanwhile everyone else was only allowed 2 boxes. When one man saw her he questioned her and she said "we'll that ain't got nothing to do with me". After the man left she called one of the employees while she was at the register ringing up customers and she told her " that man was all mad because he saw you guys take a case of the Kleenex. I told you to just go out the back." And then she continued gossiping and bad mouthing the man and how it's too bad for him and "he can complain because I really don't care". How is she a manager?!? Andrea is the store manager and she's obviously not very effective if she's going to allow someone like that to supervise a store. This is my favorite dollar store in Elk Grove. For a $1 you can buy greeting cards, plastic table cloths, vases and etc. This location has more items in stock then other locations in Elk Grove. Cons: Always a long line at the register and at times the service is a slow. read more

Location is fairly clean and organized. It's not a huge store, but they have the essentials that I usually go to Dollar Tree for such as batteries, loofahs, craft materials, kitchen items, party supplies, travel toiletries, and greeting cards. For the quality and use, I just can't justify paying more than a dollar for these items at other stores since I know that the products are comparable. Yes, there are items that are poorly quality (i.e. picture frames, some cleaning and laundry items). But if I needed craft items for my nieces to play with or items I'm only going to use a few times, you can't go wrong with it being a buck. My only gripe with this place is that they don't staff properly for weekends. When I come by on a weekday, there are usually 1-2 cashiers open. But that doesn't work on weekends. Last Sunday afternoon, they had one cashier and the line was almost to the back of the store. There were 2-3 staff members in the office. When a customer brought this up, staff members did not respond. With them being located in the same strip mall as a super market, they should anticipate high traffic during the weekends and staff accordingly. The charm of $1 items loses it's appeal if it takes you 20 minutes to pay. If I didn't have a cart full of items I really needed, I would have left. I know that many people did. read more

I would give it zero star if I could. First & last time shopping at Dollar Tree at location: 7020 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95823. I was mistreated by the worst and rudest cashier ever in my life on Jan. 05, 2024, around 12:40pm. She is a black middle-aged woman by the name Su. I've never shop at Dollar Tree before but have always heard good things about them from family and friends. I happened to be driving by the one off Stockton blvd and 65th. So, I thought I'd check it out. There were so many selections. I was impressed with the many selections of items they have and how inexpensive they were. I thought to myself, this is a great place to shop. Well, that was before I went to checkout with the most unprofessional and rudest cashier I've ever met by the name SU. She's a middle-aged black woman. I was waiting patiently to be helped by her while she was still helping the customer in front of me. While waiting to be help, other customers came behind me and started to put their items on the counter, too. So, I reached for the divider stick and put it between our items so that their items and my items do not get mixed together. The belt counter kept moving non-stop. The cashier SU grabbed the divider and yelled at me and said, "Why did you do that?" I was confused and puzzled. I didn't understand what she meant by that. I then said to her in a calm voice, " I don't know what you mean? I didn't do anything. You did that if you mean why the counter is moving. So, I attempted to get the divider again. She snatched the divider from my hand and yelled again, "Don't touch my shit! This is the problem, if you don't touch it!" She was very rude and angry . She said, "You touch it!" referring to the divider stick. I replied, "Yes, because I didn't want their stuff to get mixed with mine. She didn't care and still yelled at me for something I didn't even understand. She didn't give me a clear explanation as to why she was so angry. I still didn't understand. After she was done yelling at me, she turned to the people behind me and asked, "Who's next?" I told her that I am next I am before them! She refused to help me. So, I left my item on the counter and said to her, "You shouldn't work in customer service with that kind of attitude. Yiu are very unprofessional! She yelled back at me, "Don't make me go over there! She threatened to beat me. I can't believe that Dollar Tree or any company would hire such a vulgered and rude employee like her. With that kind of attitude and unprofessionalism, she shouldn't be serving the public, and she should be fired! I can't believe that Dollar Tree would allow this kind of aggressive behavior. Dollar tree is the place to be to buy things for a dollar each! Sometimes you can find a real deal than other stores, but sometimes it's actually cheaper to buy some items at reg stores. This place is great to purchase theme party items. I threw my bf a mexican theme party and bought all of the decors here, it was awesome! They also have other great themes such as baby showers, pirates, hawaiian luau, wedding, and many others. Other great items worth saving from the Dollar Tree are: gift bags, arts and crafts, vases, and wrapping paper. I reccomend this place to buy items for parties. read more

It's probably the biggest Dollar Tree in Elk Grove but has the WORSE customer service. I was able to make an exchange without a receipt in the past, but today with the SAME cashier, denied this request. I even told her that she allowed me to make an exchange without a receipt and she STILL denied me. She began putting aside my items and started to help the next customer. She didn't even know if I was even going to purchase the items despite not being able to exchange. I know the items are just a dollar but I could not tolerate the disrespect I received. Well this is the Dollar Store, so you can't expect Nordstrom quality stuff. Having said that, I am always surprised at what items they actually do carry for only a dollah! I was on a mission looking for gift basket stuff and used this place as my last resort since Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Party City were closed. I was ecstatic because I was able to find the paper shred stuff to go inside the basket, bows, clear plastic wrap and a wood basket. I'm sure I would have paid double, if not triple the price at other stores. The only downfall about this store is everything is kind of just thrown around. You do have to dig around a bit and it can be little overwhelming searching for stuff. Also, the staff are not up to par. The people at the register definitely do not like their job. I get that sketchy, unpleasant people come into this store but if you're working the cash register, it would be nice to at least acknowledge the customer as you're ringing their items up! read more

Absolute worse customer service!!! I came to buy 5 balloons for my job. When I asked the cashier about the balloons I was told they didn't have any but when I checked the drawer there were more than enough! Then we finally did get our balloons the last ( think from the manager) she didn't tie the balloon holders tight enough so they all feel off walking to the car. I don't frequent this store or much of any of the dollar type stores. However, when I do walk in...it's more for their gift bags, tissue paper, wrapping paper, and pens. Great buy on this type of items. I have also bought cleaning supplies here and there. Most of the time I have coupons or it's on sale somewhere else. Lol. A lot of times Winco next door has similar items for 10 cents cheaper. But if you're in a hurry and want to miss the grocery store rush...it's worth paying that extra dollar for convenience. It's dollar tree.... You get what you pay for right? I like that they are close to home and some times you can find cool things here. It's usually hit or miss when I come here. However I do like their party section. If you want to throw any parties from baby shower or birthday parties they usually have something for you. I also like that they have helium balloons for a dollar a piece. The down side with this place is that it seem a little smaller then other dollar tree stores and when you need something so simple like gift boxes or sharpener either they are out or they don't have it at that location.. These businesses (this piece of garbage) are a detrimental scourge on our area. For the second time in as many months their "bargain shoppers" leave their shopping carts on private property and in the street. We live in an expensive neighborhood and it's not appreciated. Furthermore, when you call the store they say "we'll let management know" and then hang up on you before they even take an address. Keep your Section 8 garbage and customers away from those who actually pay mortgages and strive to not have our neighborhood cluttered with your little Dollar Tree carts. Went on a Thursday afternoon after class for a calculator, only one register was open at the time and the lady had more than 50 small decoration items. I asked one of the other associates to help me so I can just take my one calculator and be on my way but she said I had to wait because she was busy. Long story short I called and complained to the manger but she didn't really care much and said next time ask someone to open another register, which I already had tried. So, I came into this location to pick up a couple of small items for my younger cousins Christmas gifts and the over all of the store was fine. But when it came down to me paying for my items, it was a different story. The cashier that I had was Joy. She was pleasant to the lady in line ahead of me. When it came to my turn, things began fine. But, things turned for the worst as she was in the process of ringing up my purchase. Since I had only gotten 4 items, my total was $4.35 and I didn't have anything smaller than a $20 in my wallet. She then proceeds to ask me if I had anything smaller than that. When I said no, that is when she started getting rude. When she was putting my money in the register, she slammed it in. And when she was giving me my change, she pretty much just threw it at me like it was a hassle to count out my change and hand it to me nicely. Um, the last time I checked, people who work in retail are supposed to be nice to the customers. Once she threw my change at me, I had made a comment to her about it not being necessary for her to be rude and to throw my change at me for any reason.
