Looked around the store to find boxes to ship some items to my nieces. They had padded mailers, labels, envelopes, but not exactly what I was looking for in terms of durability. Oh well, at least I picked up some mini trash bags and a couple other things I needed. As I stood in line, I noticed there were several people in front of me. Some of those people had rather large purchases, yet the line flowed seamlessly. I could hear the cashier is pleasant and friendly, yet professional and efficient. He would chat with customers, and then send them smiling out the door after they have paid. When it came to my turn, he very nicely asked if I found everything I needed. I hesitated to tell him I couldn't find any boxes, but decided I would just mention my issue. Let me tell you... Joe was on the task! He looked around to scan the store, went down the aisle where the boxes would be displayed, and started shuffling things around to find some. He even asked a coworker if they had any boxes their shipments arrived in after asking if those would help (they were tossed out earlier in the day). Joe did all of this in less than 60 seconds! This location is massive. Their seasonal selection is pretty huge and usually the every day items are in stock. The store usually junky but not really the staff fault, this store is so big I can't imagine working here and getting to everything. They usually seem understaffed as well. The check out lines always seem long and mostly one cashier until the leads or manager has to hop on to get the lines down. Their glassware here is the best selection I ever seen. read more

It's pretty much your typical Dollar Tree. Everything is a dollar or less. While a lot of it is only worth a dollar and I'd rather go to a 99 cents only store, this place is good for things like cheap holiday items and decorations. This new store is conveniently located in the Albertsons shopping center next to Big Lots, so you can do your discount shopping all at one time. During the weekend, there are a lot of people from the Cypress swapmeet walking through this parking lot, so I would advise avoiding it if possible during weekend mornings. read more

I like this Dollar Tree because it's convenient, clean, and a pretty big store compared to other Dollar Tree stores. However it was not a pleasant experience today due to the interaction with cashier Raquel. She was mute and made no eye contact with me for the entire transaction. She didn't bother to greet me before or even after the transaction she looked completely miserable. There was no acknowledgement that I was even there it was bizarre. An issue that bothers me is that each store is very inconsistent when it comes to cashiers bagging for customers. Raquel literally watched me bag my own items but never lifted a finger! Overall, this is a pretty good Dollar Tree. They only had one of the items on my list - I've got to stop watching DT haul videos because it's so frustrating to see other people find things I never see at DT - but the employees were helpful and friendly. I've been to a lot of dollar stores and I have never seen one this dirty. I only show one aisle. The customer service was deplorable. One cashier with a line of at least 20 people. I understand cutting labor costs but not to the extent of it impacting the service. The cashier Christina was not friendly at all. She almost smacked me with a wrapping paper roll. I'm frugal & a teacher...I pretty much know all the local 99 cents stores & Dollar Trees in my home/work area and this is probably the best Dollar Tree I've found. It's in the Albertson's plaza and is pretty new. It's very large, clean & organized! I feel that this particular Dollar Tree has more items in stock & is easier to navigate. There's a large section devoted just to party items such as utensils, paper goods, tablecloths, gift wrap and a big selection of cards as well. The school supply section is also very good here - lots of selection and of slightly higher quality than most other place = they have some brand name items (for Sharpie & Bic for pens/highlighters) that are a lot better than what's at the 99 cents store. In my opinion, Dollar Tree is best for non-food & home items while 99 cents stores are better at food items (lots more selection there & even fresh fruit/veggies) and with containers. read more

This place is a joke! They advertise helium balloons yet after a failed attempt at one store due to "being out of helium" I was sent to another location. The first location called ahead and made sure they had helium. First of all is helium uch a rare commodity that stores run out or is it rather poor ordering? I start heading to the next store and on they way, call ahead, ask them to start filling up 40 12" latex balloons. Any color balloon, any color string. "Okay, we are open, see you soon" I arrive only to find the manager I spoke with standing at the front, doing nothing! He walks over to the balloon counter and then proceeds to now tell me they sell latex balloons but only fill the metal kinds. Excuse me?! When asked why he lied to me about a type of helium difference and it being illegal. Sorry bud but I deal with OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations on a daily for my job. Everything is $1! If you've never been to a dollar tree before, I think you can find some great stuff here. As a kid we used to come to the dollar store and get candy before the movies and sneak it into the theater. Now I come to get gift wrap, gift card holders, glowsticks, and other fun items. They always have a seasonal selection that has come cool items. You can find fun stuff for the 4th, Christmas, Easter, etc. I don't mess with the food though. I usually just come for gifting items or fun holiday items. When you buy gift wrap, though, be aware that it won't be as thick and have as much compared to a "regular" store. It's a little thin and there's not that much in the roll. So I'd go with a bag. read more

Got here at 8:40 am with my 5 year old son...started looking around for items that I needed for the house....then of course my son asked to go to the restroom. I went towards the back where the restrooms are and found that the door is locked.... So I ran to the cash registers where an employee was. I asked if I could get the key to the restroom or have it unlocked. She responded by telling me that the manager is on break outside and she had the keys. I stated that it was an emergency...then she said to go next door to Big Lots. I was completely blown away.... couldn't she have gone out right in front of the store where the manager was smoking on the curb? Especially when the customer has a toddler boy who has to go to the reatroom??!! I left the store and went next door but Big Lots was closed!!! So the employee didn't even know when they opened!!! So we ended up running to the bagel shop at the end of the building!!!! It's really frustrating when people cannot think on their feet especially when kids+restroom emergencies are at stake. This store is great for all your simple needs. From cheap bags of ice to simple holiday decorations, I do a good 60% of all my shopping here. Teresa, one of the assistant managers, keeps the place in great shape. If she's on duty, you'll get good service in a clean and organized store. The only reason it's less than five stars is the Saturday and Sunday situation. Just a few yards down, cypress college has a swap meet in it's massive parking lot. As a result, the dollar tree store and parking lot get crowded with rude and sometimes dirty people. Also there tends to be quite a lot of solicitors at those times as well. Gosh if I can give this store negative stars I definitely would. Last nights I rushed to Dollar Tree since my daughter wanted to grab some supplies for her project at school. We arrive at 8:55pm and came across locked doors. As a gentleman by the name of Felipe allows customers out I asked if we can go in to grab some things really quickly since technically was within business hours. He then stated no because his Manager instructed not to let anyone else in. I then responded really? Is your cooperate ok with you guys closing the door earlier than 9:00pm. He then got very offensive and said Lady go call Corporate. I responded to him in a polite way since my daughter was present and told him he needed to lower his tone and explained to him it was a simple question. As another car drives by and asks me "did they turn you away too". She then stated she was calling corporate as well because she arrived at 8:53 and they did not allow her in. This Felipe guy started yelling at her aggressively "Go ahead call corporate all you want the number is listed on the receipt, I don't care if you call" the lady became upset and told him I'm not talking to you Shut your mouth. Felipe then stated call and complaint I don't give a ***** my name is Felipe. This is my only part time Government job. Felipe then yelled out "Do you have a son bring him I just came out of State Prison I'm not scared of going back I have a gun. The lady became very upset and told him I don't need a son. She came out of her vehicles as Felipe also came closer. My daughter got in between and we told her just go he is not worth it. The lady parks as I offered to stay behind in case she wanted to file a police report because he did basically threaten her. As we were talking about the situation we can see through the glass windows as him and another girl laughed. Another lady approached the store and they quickly let her in. I'm sure they did that to upset us but it really didn't. Lady in front of me had like 40 items cashier didn't call for back up ok that's fine I don't mind waiting. Well I will say my experience was not good I work with the public my self and I know people are not going to always be happy but when I was ready to check out there was two customers and me and I was ready to check out I couldn't find a single person to check me out I even walked around the store an asked this woman if she had seen a person. This dollar tree is very dinky. The one in Fullerton is much nice and bigger. and there usually is just one cashier working there. How can you not love this place? Everything is this store is literally $1 or less! It is full of great items that unknowingly I would have purchased for $3 or more at Target. This is a great start for party decorations, holiday decor, small arts and crafts, even some dog treats. There's something about when you work customer service and the attitude you need to have with your customers. Today I walked in and the cashier carlene was completely rude to about probably 3 customers that I heard while I was standing in the Christmas section luckily Georgina open up her check Stand and I was able to check out with her she was lovely but as far as customer service goes they need to rethink who they hire here.
