I guess it is true that Sunday is a better day to come and get betta fish for $1. When I went on Monday, there was no cheap betta fishes ($3,5,&10). Don't get the wrong idea that these $1 betta fishes are bad or unhealthy. We brought three of them and they are fighters. All their fins are healthy and intact. We tried to put them together and it was one big mistake, they would tear each other fins up. They are still alive and well in separated bowls. It is not fun to watch them fight because some will get so scared and looking like in pain. We have 5 $1 betta fishes in total, one is super smart and does tricks for me. This one does not like to fight and is cool. Another one flare at the toy fish i got it and tries to beat it up lol. The prices for the fishes are cheaper than Pecto and PetSmart. read more

We went here because we remember they sold fishes here! prices are decent. They have fresh water and salt water fishes. The guy that works there was very helpful but I do not like the owner at all. The guy that originally helped me quoted me the koi fish for only $10 and when we got to the front of the cash register, the owner says he just got a new shipment of fishes so the Koi fish is now $15... I tried to get him to go down to $10 but he wouldn't budge so we left =( They get new shipment of fishes every Monday. I guess I should go here when it's Saturday or Sunday. Maybe next time when I come in the fishes will be cheaper... =( read more

Big Sav is a hilarious store. It's similar to a 99 cent store but also sells pretty exotic aquarium fish. As a hobbyist, I've seen very popular species here such as jardini and silver arowanas, fahaka and mbu puffers. I like to drop by every so often to see what fish they have in the store. My boys wanted the beta fish. We don't have enough cash for both fish and food. We asked the cashier lady if she take card (in Vietnamese). She responded: "don't understand" without looking at us. I wanna slap that bitchy face so much. I asked again in English this time. She responded:" more than $20, less than $20 charge $1." We have $5 cash and $1.20 in coins. The total came out to $6.44. We didn't have enough so we put back the fish food and got the fish only. Seriously for only 24 cents and she would not let it go?? I was only buy it because my kids wanted it so badly, I would not step back in here. This place got zero customer service. read more

Horrible experience the guy i bought fish from 2 days ago was coo.l i came back 2 days later because of his customer service. Came back today and tried to get some guppies there was 10 in the tank i wanted 8 she said not enough i drove from buena park so i wanted to at least get something so i bought a betta fish and ask her is it going to be here for sure next week so i can come back. Would be 5 stars if the fish were treated better and the shop was more organized. Price of tanks and fishes are very competitive. They have fishes you can't find at other local fish stores. My only problem here is how some of the fishes are treated. You got bigger fishes in tanks that should be for your child's goldfish. I even saw a dead dehydrated frog in one tank lol. I haven't met the husband, but the wife is pretty cool. Her personality can be extreme for some people, but she reminds me of my mom so I cant help but laugh (in a good way). So don't get offended by the customer service, I'm sure they don't mean anything by it. read more

Very funny store, you can buy goldfish, bowls, binders, screwdrivers, christmas tree deco, and underwear all in the same store! A lot of the fish are exotic too, from bettas to koi and puffers. Most of the prices are good too. read more

Initially from the outside, you wouldn't at all think that this is a fish store until you notice the glowing neon fish sign on the store window. Having that said, my first impression before going into the store was "oh God... this is going to be a disaster!" To my pleasant surprise, this store had a nice selection of healthy fish... some of witch I haven't seen before! I picked up an albino bichir from the shop for a reasonable price and the guy working there was quite helpful. It's also kind of a trinket store where you can buy random non-fish related things. The only reason why I didn't give this place five stars is because everything else they sold in the store looks like it's been lying there collecting dust for several years including the aquarium stuff. Overall though, if you're looking for a nice fish store, I recommend this to anybody passing by! (: It's pretty easy to miss but if you're in a plaza with an 85 degrees bakery, you're in the right place! I'll definitely be back here at some point in the future! read more
