It's a loft-like space with lots of natural light and really well decorated. One thing that set it apart immediately, is it doesn't have that thrift store smell. They're true to their word that they're only selecting good quality items. Sure, some of the items are perhaps a bit plain, but you don't have to take too long to find a few things you'll like. It's certainly not the case of searching for a diamond in the rough. I imagine woman will like the place even more since about 80% of the floor space is for them. There were several shoppers there and they seemed to have no issue picking out great stuff too. Also, prices are GREAT! Anyone who's 'vintage' shopped in places like Kensington Market will know that things can still have relatively higher prices. My items were incredibly inexpensive, including a Banana Republic shirt which showed virtually no signs of wear for $10. I found out at the counter that this is actually a franchise as part of a fairly large chain (which I hadn't previously heard of). Regardless, they're a very unique and welcome edition to the city.

It's difficult to try and describe the place. A general way to describe it is to try to think of the various, most non-decorative, items they sell at Ikea and it gives you a bit of an idea. Most items seemed to be made by (or made for) Miniso. I don't have enough experience to speak to the quality of most items, but given their reputation, it probably speaks to higher quality and with less chance of "maybe this will break after the third use" you get with dollar stores. They just sell so much stuff here. Clothing, makeup, electronics and lots of toys. The toys were pretty cool - often educational, and certainly better than the happy meal grade quality you'd expect at other dollar stores. And a lot of the items still are pretty cheap. We came since we were looking for soft measuring tape. They didn't sell it individually, but they had it in a sewing kit which included a bunch of thread and needles all for only $2. I can't speak to whether this compares to ones found in Japan, but it's quite unique within the market this location is located in and worth at least checking out for sure. Miniso is presented in a nicer way than Dollarama with better lighting, shelving/hardware, and convenient especially the travel bottles, beauty supplies, housed all in one store. What I regularly see in all of these stores (Mississauga about 10 visits, Whitby one visit) are with rare exceptions noname brands/ripped tags, some super vintage stuff and then loads of George, Ardene, Old Navy, ancient (8-10y old stuff) H&M and Zara, Reitmanns, Le Chateau, Bluenotes, Streetwear society, Urban Planet/Heritage... same repertoire I regularly see at Salvation Army stores. Racks are sometimes so cramped that you just skip all the colour coded (not a fan!!!) black sections bc its a pain in the a$$ to check out every black item! coming from a person whose 50% wardrobe is black. I think people donate best stuff to Value villages bc they get best rewards and use them to get good merch which can be found at vv, my every visit confirms it. Other than that, Talize locations are rather clean and organized and staff is friendly. Too bad donations are what they are or I'd love to shop here. also men get slightly better stuff bc men don't care for thrifting (except those in need) or getting vv rewards to look for treasures so men will just donate what they want to get rid of so it depends on luck whether you'll find a good mens item at Talize.

A couple of Mondays ago, I was driving over to Mississauga on highway 409, not too far away from my…read moreworkplace. I had the day off. I noticed a text message appear on my phone. My car takes text messages and reads them to me. This one said that all laptops worldwide were down and to not reboot them. It seemed like an ominous, suspicious scam, but maybe not. I took the next ramp off the highway, which was Islington. I do miss this area. I used to stay at the Delta. I don't know what happened, but the hotel looks like it's permanently closed. It's such a shame, as I loved staying at this hotel. Just north of this hotel is a plaza with a Walmart and Scotiabank. I pulled in and parked in front of this Dollarama. The emergency broadcast text was legitimate. It was from my employer, but it never stated that detail. I looked at the incident number in the text message and I recognized it as being an internal one. I logged on to my work e-mail on my phone and it was indeed a valid issue. Luckily, I was off from work. This broadcast text kind of ruined my not logging on to check my messages, but it would have been stressful trying to do work when you can't. Anyway, since I was parked in front of this Dollarama, I might as well go in and check it out, right? Right! This dollar store is decent. I saw mini Star Wars oven mitts that were cool. I didn't need any. If I did, I'd get the pair with R2-D2 and Grogu. I'm glad that I stopped by. I got sugar-free chocolate orange mints. I tried them when I got home and they are yummy. The candy aisle is extensive. I also needed cotton swabs. I got a package of 500. It's my first time getting them at a dollar store. I hope they are good. The phone accessories are cool. I enjoy looking at them. I also like the food and drinks aisle. I picked up a small bottle of Diet Pepsi. It's oddly priced at 87 cents. This store has self-checkout kiosks. I still like interacting with a human being. I got a nice woman who helped cash me out. She asked if I needed a bag. I didn't and saved one. I paid with my debit card. All done! I wished this woman a nice day an left with my purchases. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. I was here at around 10:30 am. Staffs are willing to help you look for things. They are patient to when you forget something and you run back to get it (that's usually me). For some reason whenever I come here I find new items (why don't you take a look at the pictures I posted). I recommend coming here. There are lots of free parking spaces even on the weekends.

I had picked one main blue aluminum balloon, two white balloons and two gray balloons, but by the time air was put into them, they were almost all white balloons and didn't go with the bouquet. I had to add a blue balloon to add some pop for colour. When I got home, I noticed a balloon had a 'Mr. & Mrs' on it which didn't go with my birthday balloons. The sales girl obviously noticed that, but couldn't be bothered to tell me of my mistake in picking that balloon . And after paying almost $16 for liquid filling and helium for all the balloons, not even 24 hours later all of them except for the aluminum balloon were deflated to the floor. I figured the loose balloons they sold are old and therefore leaks. If you bought the prepackaged silver foil balloons they would last, as mine did. I will never go back there again. Later I walked to store and told a lady at cash counter about it, I gave completely describition of the item and branding with price ( it's was om india brand white box and price was $9) lady took my details including credit card no. , name, phone no. And I have even showed her proof of transaction done with it. She told I have to check camera and will give you a call. After several days I never got there call I again went to store asked for tht lady, unfortunately I don't know her name but gave completely description about her, the sales girl told she doesn't work today and I cannot give her name and contact info. I was like fine I walked away I didn't care about it much, even after that I have been that place for multiple times as I liked the fresh vegetables from this store.
