I popped in here with my friend after the Bowie festival because she wanted to buy a birthday card…read morefor her husband. Of course I couldn't leave empty-handed. As a Michigander, these chips caught my attention. I don't think these were around when I lived in Michigan and they're made in Traverse City, which is nice. I probably would've bought more stuff that I didn't really need if I wasn't so tired. The store was clean and tidy, and there was just too much to peruse. My friend lives walking distance, and I was visiting her for the first time. Next time I'm in town I probably will stop in again and get a couple more bags of those chips!

Stopped in to do some browsing and grab a few items I knew I could find at a DT. I didn't really…read morehave anything in mind for items to grab, but I did have a few things that I knew I would want. Walked in, grabbed a basket and started browsing the aisles. I did a slow walk up and down the aisles. Checking to see what all there was to be offered here at this location. Stopping to see a new item I haven't seen before and grabbing the ones I knew I'd use. I had come to the last of the aisles and made my way to the registers. This is where a lot of the wait time came in here. I was in line at one of the two registers open and it was moving slowly. I didn't mind the wait as the employees were doing their job. What was a bit off putting was the other customers. No one seemed to understand the concept of personal space. They were dropping items right next to you and just not understanding the words 'excuse me.'

This place is horrible from the management on down. Besides the store being dirty and half stocked…read more the customer service is beyond ridiculous. However, when management is ignorant and disrespectful, I guess you can't expect nothing else from the employees but the same thing. However, I have come across a few very pleasant cashiers, but like I stated earlier the management in this place sucks.

I haven't been to this store in awhile, but I definitely remember it being...different. I'm not…read moreeven going to complain about the store not being stocked. It was the night before Thanksgiving, so I'm going to assume that is not the norm. The store was clean and organized for the most part, so no complaints there. My biggest complaint however, is about the treatment from the staff. First of all, there was an older lady who almost knocked me down trying to show another customer an item that I was standing in front of. I quickly moved out the way, but if I didn't, I'm convinced she would've bumped me out the way. A simple "excuse me" would have sufficed. Next up was the cashier who seemed to have an attitude before I even approached him. Since I was only getting a few items, I didn't bother getting a cart or a basket. Instead, I carried most of my items in the small aluminum pan I was purchasing. Apparently, he did not like that. Instead of taking each item out one by one to ring them up, he dumped all of the items on the belt. Not only was this unnecessary, but he didn't even check to see if there was anything fragile in there. Next, the card reader wouldn't read my chip so I had to swipe the card. The cashier asked me what did the screen say and I told him. Then he asked me if I was pressing the 'yes' button, and I told him I was. Apparently, I wasn't and quickly realized I was in fact pressing the 'no' button. He was really irritated by that and shook his head. I then told him that my mistake did not add any additional time on his work schedule, he would have still been there regardless. I understand people have bad days, but he made me remember why I do most of my shopping online. If you need to go to the Dollar Tree, try the one at the Bowie Town Center.

The price is really the only reason to shop here. Well, and the store is always very bright…read moreinside, which I do appreciate it. But, the shelves are usually in disarray, and the staff is almost nowhere to be found. I think the only staff member we've ever seen is at the checkout and even then she's only there to assist with the self-checkout folks. It's fine if you need some seasonal items like pool toys or swim gear. Their selection is spotty at best, though, and very limited in general. It's fine for party favors or the like, but not really for general shopping. If you're in the neighborhood, it's an interesting place to just browse, but don't expect any help on finding something. You're kind of at the mercy of the stock that's visible.

So, I had the most uncomfortable experience at this location. I approached the self checkout…read moreregister and there was another lady with a cart full of items that had walked to the register before me. The associate leaves the customer and comes over to stand so close she was damn near in my hip pocket and watch me scan my items. I politely asked her to please move back and she repeatedly asked me if I needed help, for the 2nd time, NO! She then continued to stand behind me and not pay any attention to the other customer (who was Caucasian). The manager approached and I asked her if this was a new policy to stand over customers and she replied that they are supposed to actually ring our items. Well, how is it self checkout and you have 3 registers open with them all occupied and one associate: Yea ok, here's another excuse being used to stereotype shoppers of color. Yes, I said what I said!!
