Overpriced crap from a flea market.. they are now calling themselves Uno Dollar Plus.... I guess…read morebecause it really isn't a discount?

Was at Planet Fitness the other day. Noticed the store for the first time, and decide to check it…read moreout. I live in town, and like to support local businesses as much as possible. The place is basically an indoor flea market, with what appear to be items that "fell off the back of a truck" headed to Dollar Tree. Some other repackaged salvation army donations line the walls and back corner. As I said earlier, I try and support local businesses whenever possible, so I decided to buy something for that sole purpose. Up towards the front, I saw a nick nack skull gas pump thing that caught my attention. Much like a flea market, nothing is marked with a price. The shelf the item was on was maybe 10' from the register, so I picked it up and asked the clerk how much it was. He told me to bring it over to him, I obliged. As soon I handed it to him, him told me that it was broken. I wasn't interested enough in the thing to buy it broken, so when he asked if I still wanted to purchase it, I declined. The next 2 minutes sound straight out of and episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, but it's too random to fabricate. With no hint of sarcasm, the clerk asked me a second time, if I was going to buy it. I told him, no thanks, since he had literally just pointed out that it was broken. He said, "you broke it, but you're not going to buy it?" Again, no hint of sarcasm. All I could spit out was "what?" He repeated his asinine accusation. I reminded him that he literally watched me pick up the item and make the 10' journey to the register. He said, you must have dropped it. It was literally 10 FEET from the register, a straight line, in plain view. I told him that I would have never even known it was broken had HE not pointed it out. And I probably would have purchased it is the price wasn't ridiculous. Which brings me to the next level of insanity. He said, "since it's broken, $20." If I didn't know any better I would have sworn he was joking. In fact, I laughed and again could only muster up a chuckled "what!?" He asked a finally time, incredulously, "so you're not going to buy it?" Zero irony. I said "why would I buy something that's broken?" He somehow spun it around on me, where he was the bigger person, and threw out a "have a great day." Which I would have taken as a please leave my store, had I not already been standing in the doorway halfway out at the time. I guess it was worth the show, in hindsight. I've gotten some mileage out of that story already. p.s. after telling someone the story, I decided to look the item, brand new, up on Amazon. Remember, he wanted $20 for a broken, unpackaged edition (see attachment)

It is everything dreams are made of and totally worth the hype. If you're unfamiliar, I'd say Daiso is....Japanese Ikea mixed with 5 below and a splash of Dollar Tree. Unfortunately I visited about 30 minutes before close, which I think I needed an hour or hour and a half to see everything they have -- especially on the first trip. There are so many cute items ranging from decor, candy, toys, and activities. They had great household items that range from kitchen, garden, automotive and everything in between. I do wish the snack section was bigger with more variety but there are so many awesome things in this store I will survive. I was happy they had Aloha drinks, pocky, and takoyaki balls!

First things first, this is not an Asian Dollar Store or an Asian IKEA. The people saying that have…read moreno idea what they're talking about. For one thing, everything in the store is not $1. Second, if you've ever been to an IKEA, it looks completely different than Daiso. No restaurant, no showroom displays, etc. This location is better than the Willowbrook one. It's bigger and has a vast amount of kitchen accessories on the right side. They still have two self checkouts. Prices are cheap to moderate. The staff is friendly. No returns or exchanges, so shop vigilantly.

What could improve ? Service, pricing confusion ! I've been in store 2 times now and both times,…read morethe display pricing did not match the price when checking out ... I thought it was a really interesting store and liked the variety. I purchased some large pots for my porch and thought they were on sale according to signage below items. There was also a chart stating discount and final price ...after finding associate to check out .. I just paid the price that came up on register cause I didn't want to make a fuss. I brought 4 of my grandchildren in the second time and gave them each $10 to spend ... my grandson picked out 2 items on a shelf labeled $5... at register they rung up $10 each ... I told associate that they were on a shelf labeled $5 ... he mumbled something like "they were on wrong shelf" , because I saw how disappointed my 7 year old was, I took his ten and paid the $20 ... when my granddaughter came up with a drawing tablet and some colored pencils ... then that too came up $10 for tablet( marked $5) and $5 for pencils. Her mother went back and took a picture of shelf, with same item and clearly marked $5... the associate then went back to see for himself and came back saying that pricing was wrong and someone ( another associate ) must have shelved them wrong ... what ?? What is going on ... so unfriendly, mumbling and not even a " I'm sorry about that , or thank you for shopping " !!!!! Neither experience was welcoming or met with any friendliness on part of employees. - so my second shopping experience will also be my last. I don't enjoy giving negative reviews, but I'm also honest in my reviews ... I really wanted to like stopping here and bringing my grands here, but I certainly didn't enjoy being an under unappreciated customer, nor will I be recommending store to others.

We came up to Old Time Pottery with an odd purpose: my mom recalled a few years ago that this place…read morecarried the old style of terrycloth beach towels (the ones that are getting usurped by fluffy plush ones in most stores), and we wanted to see if they still had them. Plus, we just wanted to look around. Success! They did have the towels, and a lot of other stuff besides. Now, know that if you're going by their name you will probably be confused, because there isn't a ton of pottery here, and what there was certainly wasn't particularly "old timey." Well, whatever. This place reminds me a lot of Garden Ridge/At Home with a dash of Hobby Lobby thrown in (since there seemed to be some stuff with a religious bent, if you care about that either way). You can find seasonal decor, floral, pictures and framing, wall art of all sorts, furniture, linens, housewares, cleaning supplies, and other stuff too in this huge warehousey building. (Watch the cracks in the floors; I tripped on one.) Would be a particularly good place to visit if your kid is going off to college or someone was moving into an apartment for the first time: you could probably get a lot of your needs covered here in one swoop and at a pretty reasonable price. Overall, I'm just glad to have found my old-style terrycloth beach towels, but I bet we'll come back before the holidays to see what's new at Old Time.

Buyers Beware of their RETURN POLICY!!…read more My bad, I saw their Return Policy Sign which is right there by the front entrance (probably because they reject returns all the time and they can point to the sign), but just assumed it would be similar to the other great stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels and the At Home store. I WAS WRONG. I purchased over $300 worth patio cushions and pillows and decided the colors just wouldn't work with my existing patio furniture cushion colors, so went to return the items. I had lost the receipt, and would be fine with just a store credit since I shop there all the time they are located less than a mile from my house). They wouldn't accept my return and give me store credit or gift card, pointing to their stupid sign by the door. I am soured and don't respect a store with their lousy Return Policy. Honestly, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, the At Home Store, etc. with similar merchandise have way better quality any way. I won't shop at Old Time Pottery any longer and won't bring any of my visiting relatives to the store, my mother-in-law who loves to buy seasonal stuff, etc. I'm also going to share my experience with my neighbors because I know they shop up there also because it is so close to home for us.
