The problem is that the space isn't that big (this isn't McCormick, after all), so cutting so broad a swath in subject matter dilutes the intensity: you just get a sprinkling of this and that. Still, my friend was able to cross a Christmas gift off her list. Some prices were outlandish or we might have indulged more. There's gaming, cosplay, food (The Twisted Cookie who we saw at Vintage Garage was here too!), acrobat girls dressed like Picachu and the Powerpuff girls performing precariously in the tight lobby along with a Tom Jones (?) impersonator. Probably the biggest celebrity draw (to me) wasn't coming til Sunday: Svengoolie! Overall, for the $10 one-day entry fee, it might be worth your time to check it out if you're a bored geek. I politely asked the employee to stop swearing in front of my kids and he completely ignored me and kept loudly swearing. Needless to say we left and will never return to this location. The selection was good; I found some back issues I had been struggling to find at other shops, and Thom bags and boards everything so the condition was top notch. He even took an extra 10% off the top on the comics I bought, which I so appreciated (standard discount on comics I believe, but do ask him)! Important to note - the shop is cash only and has been for a long time. There are ATMs at nearby shops, so don't let it deter you from stopping by. I'm a board gamer and I used to go to the store because they used to have a decent selection. Now everything here is basically leftover stock from when it used to be a good game store. You also didn't have a problem if you needed to use the public bathroom inside the store back when I visited originally. Apparently, now they don't let anyone, other than employees, use the bathroom in the store which I find completely ridiculous and I'm sure is against some sort of commercial code. Even when I said that I was in a tough spot and I really needed to utilize it they still wouldn't allow anyone to use it. If you're looking for choice, Meijer's does feel very much like a mix of Walmart and Target together -- or like a slightly more upscale version of Woodman's. So you can find most anything you're looking for in this store with generally competitive prices. Like every other enormous store, they can sometimes suffer from inconsistency -- particularly in terms of food -- where the quality and pricing isn't necessarily as good as you might expect from peer superstores. Having the enormous choice can help mitigate some of this due to having such a large variety of available items at different price points. Overall though, the shopping experience is pleasant and the selection is massive. There's everything one needs to make this a one stop shop for all your grocery and other needs.
