You can find books, indoor and outdoor furniture, hardware, pottery and virtually everything under the sun. We came here after looking at a discount furniture outlet and saw this place. Bargains galore with a smile. We found the people quite friendly and helpful. One of the best bargain places I've been to.

Signs, graphics (right down to the typefaces), taglines (Good Stuff Cheap), and marketing and the approach of the store seem to point to that fact. A lot of the same good and bad features of Building 19 are found here. Material is from distressed suppliers and similar sources, prices are lower than the usual retail, cleanliness is not at a premium, and the store is disorganized. If you can get through that and keep your eye on the bargains, you'll do alright. Don't expect to go here for pampering or for an "experience." Ollie's isn't selling that.

There are many rooms to explore in this historic building with a great selection of merchandise. Surprisingly diverse selection of items, pretty much all the essentials plus a lot of "value added" inventory. Good representation of local produce (in season), local cheeses and baked goods and really good, whole grain bread baked fresh. An impressively large selection of grab-and-go ice creams, popsicles, frozen treats that hearken back to a bygone era. Quite an extensive spice selection. The thing that puts BG's Market out ahead of almost any other market/grocery in the Upper Valley is their meat section. BG's has is a full service butcher cutting and grinding their own fresh meats seven days a week. You can special order pretty much anything you might want or need and having it cut or ground for your fresh makes all the difference in the world. For Christmas this past year Barb ground together, fresh, beef, veal and pork for me to make my meatballs with and they were outstanding. Someone who doesn't know better may have gone to a Hallmark store or CVS and paid $10 for one, but DT has a great selection of bags in all sizes. The bag I chose was $1.50! Anstasia (sp?) was at the register, she was very nice and I was out the door in no time. I noticed a sign on the door with a gentle reminder to people to please be patient as they have been understaffed, that was great to see as staffing shortages are everywhere.

There are some "interesting" shops as well like one that sells violins and ballerina wear. Look up the other stores or come in for LL Bean and have a look around! When I was a kid, my dad and I used to come here for beer, as we Windsor, Vermonters did not want to pay the 30 cents deposit. My dad once in a while, let me get a treat, may it be a can of soda, or a candy bar. We used to drive here in an old Chevy Luv Truck. I remember it being quite "rough" and dusty sort of place. Most folks come here to get beer or cigarettes. It's a local sort of place. Please come.
