Invariably, the staff is friendly, eager to please and the counter lines are quite short as the new Express Pay allows you to basically check out while you shop and put items in your cart, using your phone as a scanner. The user interface of their Express Pay has been tremendously improved. It used to be that if you left the app open and after checking an item, you went by an item with a UPC code, it would scan that too. Now you have to purposely tell the smartphone you're going to scan again. At the exit point, the scan person scans your phone and the system comes up with how many items to check, so it's a lot faster than before. They have an abundant supply of everything. Their prepared food selections are great. Once in a while, I come up here to get hors d'oeuvres and party food. Quite reasonably priced. The only recommendation is to train the staff more efficiently on computer systems. Oftentimes, the manager has to be called and that ties up everyone. Still, a great place to shop.

I was treated like crap, lied to, still jumped through their hoops and played their their game and waste more money on gas for rides to exhange a malfunctioning product for same one that works... Obviously they didnt exchange it after all that- and all this within about an hour and a half of initial purchase- to say im disgusted and disappointed is an understatement for sure... I bought a scale as a gift for someone, it cost me $34.95 and I get home, give it to the person it was originally bought for and they try it out and its registering weights all over the place jumping around nonstop. So we replaced batteries with new ones, it reacts same way while wieghng a nickel again (yes it was tared out and on solid flat surface- I even took a few videos of different attempts at getting an accurate and even a consistant weight). Tried it out in a few difderent rooms and surfaces to be sure it was on stable surface and wasnt being disturbed or shaken etc on accident. Clearly its junk. I call store and the guy says he wil certainly look at it or exchange it which is all I wanted to do anyways. Upon return to store guy tells me smoking supplies are non returnable-umm its a scale and theres no sign stating it isnt returnable- but he will exchange it if it isnt working. He tried it- I'll be damned it worked this one time he tried it-then he states "Im not saying your lying but its not going to work here and not there ... " blah blah blah. What the?!?!?! Excuse you?!?! I told him ill take a video for him, obviously I just want the expensive product i just bought to work right. He then states the little plastic bag apparently I left at house has to come back with it. Go home again grab bag for it take videos in diff spots of it not working right. I just called them because its almost closing time and wanted to inform them. Now emplyee states supposedly his boss saw him talking about it on the cameras and they wont take used items bac. After he lied to me multiple times about exchanging it for working one and had me come back multiple times.... But I can come talk to him about it tomorrow. I asked him politely but shocked about them not standing behind the products they sell- he said they dont take used items back... Used?! See videos its only had nickels and other coins on it including his coin from store he used on it. Again no sign and receipt says returns and exchanges within fourteen days with reciept so ive wasted money, time, gas for rides back and forth to appease their twisted game. Let me break down the money issue for you (also its a gift i now need to find a replacement for...). 35.00-VT minimum wage was ten bucks an hour last year so i wasted three and a half hours of hard work if i worked in VT at minimum wage and NH being just under eight bucks an hour I wasted 4.375 hours-over half a full time shift to be lied to and ripped off by a small local store and I still have to buy a replacement gift because unlike Birth of the Blues im not going to even gift something that doesnt work let alone sell it to someone. Shocked is an understatement I will not be returning to this store again for sure because none of their products qualify to be returned when damaged or broken out of the packaging-they consider them used once they leave store and dont offer to prove they work and are not damaged before leaving the store-and they charge a LOT for their products/items. Wow just wow. Awful way to run any business. Ill be contacting the manufacturer of faulty product as box states it has a ten year warranty... Maybe they stand behind their products...ugh just a disgusting human being and way to run business and apparently his boss encourages this.... 'Cause I can come back again tomorrow-pay gas to someone for a ride there and home again to get same b.s.????? But still no exchabge or refund? Seriously beyond rude, disrespectful and unacceptable if you ask anyone... Ill post videos of this also. He was one who told me this is the best one and lied about the product, wouldnt show me it worked, let me pick a color as apparently there are six to choose from according to package.. If you put all these things together about this shady business, its employees and non-functioning but expensive products they push on you- seems more likely that they knew it didnt work, did everything to hide it and make sure they got full price for it and then waste more of my money and time with their lies and b.s. and twisted games. Id reccomend walmart or dollar store products/custoner service over anything related to this place. At least discount/box stores are honest quakity and stand behind their products and won't play silly games to make a buck off the very people who make them their money and refuse their "store policy" even stated on receipt about returns and exchanges...

Firstly, I have a strong aversion to Amazon and prefer shopping at local stores. However, today I decided to try something different by ordering online from Walmart, in West Lebanon NH. It indicated that my order would be delivered today, the same day I placed it, but I did not pay much attention to that detail. I assumed I would receive it sometime during the week. While I was relaxing in bed, I heard a car pull into my driveway. Since I was alone and not expecting anyone, I got up and went to the front door. I saw a white SUV, and the driver asked, 'Walmart?' I replied affirmatively, and he then indicated, 'It's over there.' As a linguist, I am familiar with various accents, and I could tell he was Hispanic. I even called out, 'Muchas gracias.' How fortunate are we? My goodness, this poor man is working on a Saturday night to deliver items that are of little significance to us. I hope this serves as a reminder, as it has for me, that we are incredibly fortunate to be relaxing in bed on a Saturday night while others toil to make our lives more convenient. Therefore, I extend my gratitude to Walmart and urge you to take care of your employees; without them, you would be nothing. And to those reading this: please show kindness to everyone, especially to those who work diligently to deliver the items we order.

Prices are high. The staff are professional, friendly, and helpful, except the manager/supervisor of the Prepared Foods section, a woman with a nasty edge. Speaking of prepared foods, fortunately, the muffins are now baked in-house, and are no longer wrapped in cellophane; they look and taste much better than they did when they were baked, off-site, and wrapped in cellophane. The bagels that they bake in the store, from their once frozen state, are like hockey-pucks, and are awful. The locally, bakery baked bagels are better, but, for bagels, my best advice is to head to The Works in Hanover, or The Works, inside DHMC, main campus, in Lebanon. Fortunately, the Lebanon Co-Op carries fresh baguettes that come from King Arthur Flour; they seem to be quite good on the day that they are baked (it's helpful to not have to make a trip to Norwich, VT, for fresh, King Arthur baguettes). In the Prepared Food section, it seems that the Co-Op has gotten rid of their former, rubbery, very commercial grade chicken, in their chicken salad. We have not tasted the Co-Op's other chicken entrees, in the Prepared Food section; one can only hope that the Co-Op got rid of their former, rubbery, commercial grade chicken, in the other prepared, chicken entrees. Some of the other prepared food entrees are very expensive, and of Walmart quality. I don't get it, I'd think that if the Co-Op was going to charge a very premium price for those prepared entrees, they'd, at least, deliver a high quality product, but, they don't. We pick and choose what we shop for at the Lebanon Co-Op. We'd like to support a local business, and OUR Co-Op, but the prices at the Lebanon Co-Op are very high, and the quality of the prepared foods, in general, sucks.

When my wife came out she was in tears and extremely upset. My wife is about 5' tall and Vietnamese. She speaks English well and is friendly to everyone. It took some coaxing but I discovered she went to the 14 items lane and apparently actually had 16 items . The woman who had been extremely friendly to the previous shopper became extremely rude and even hostile for the crime of 2 extremely small items over the max that my wife missed because of how they had stacked in the cart. When my wife left said woman became extra nice to the shopper behind her. We have had many good experiences and many of the workers are friendly and show no signs of bias. We reported this incident to the store and no idea if there was action taken within. The second incident happened today and mirrors that of another Asian shopper who also left a comment. We will pay that review separately. It's experienced like these that will drive us from shopping at a store. If the store were to take a proactive approach to improving their inclusivity training and address biased employees we might consider returning.
