If community-minded businesses are important to you (they should be!) you'll be pleased to know that during the recent blizzard they were offering free soup to snow plow drivers. They also have a lovely little free library near the entrance, which is a nice touch. I've gone there a couple of times and actually gotten things to eat or to drink and sat outside at their nice new tables and chairs that they have outside the store. I really think that everything that they sell is one wonderful especially their hot bar as well. There is one employee that outwardly complains that he hates the store, hates management and does not care about customers. Today, he stated, "if the store does not care about the meat department, I do not care about customers". First, why does Star have employees that talk openly and very loud about how they hate management and their work environment. This is something a customer should not be told by an employee. If you go online, they have these things called crazy deals where you purchase an item for a certain amount but then they give you a gift card back in the same amount basically meaning you're getting the item for free. I honestly don't understand how they even make money, but I'm all for it. Then I just go back and use the gift card for stuff that I would normally buy for every day purchases anyway, like detergent, paper towel, etc. I consider it myself like a job lot specialist. I can honestly say I am obsessed with the store. They also run great fundraisers all the time where you buy an item that's getting donated, but they give you a gift card back for the same amount.
