The trash was overflowing, the tables were filthy, there was trash all over the floor, the area where you get napkins and utinsils was covered in food, the soda area was a wet, sticky mess, the staff behind the counter looked dirty and unkept, my order was wrong. There were crew members in the check out area just standing around chatting when they could have stepped up to help. My husband (who NEVER does this type of thing) called customer service from our table that HE had to wipe down before we would even sit down to eat to inform them of the condition of the cafe and they half heartly apologized and said they would send someone to take care of it. We waited around for about 20 minutes enjoying our ice cream and finally one of the guys who had previously been standing at the self check area came over and gave a less than stellar attempt to clean up before going back to stand around. The staff are always super friendly. They have a deli, a little hot bar area, sushi, bakery, floral, meat counter, and even an urgent care. The prices are in line or lower than other stores (At least in 2024 terms). I realize it's a grocery store and there's only so much you can review but I have a couple of good examples that show the excellence of the employees. 1. I was in the produce section and had some lettuce in my cart. One of the produce associates saw it and asked if I wanted that particular type of lettuce. He explained that it was starting to rust and that he could grab me some fresher heads. He went to the back, found me in the store, and swapped out my lettuce. Super above and beyond. 2. I was walking out of the store with my purchase and a bottle of wine I bought fell out of the bag and fell onto the ground outside. It was totally my fault. I put it in there and didn't do a great job-clearly. An associate was outside and went to grab some stuff to clean up the glass. When she came back outside, she instructed me to go to customer service so that they could get me another bottle. They didn't charge me for the replacement. Again, it was my mistake and they didn't have to do that at all. If you live in the area, definitely check them out.

On a Saturday afternoon, it's packed. Between the crowds and the sample stations every few aisles, it almost feels designed to slow you down and tempt you into buying more. So this past Thursday, I tried a different approach. I showed up at 8:00 pm, about 30 minutes before closing. Game changer. It wasn't empty, but compared to a weekend crowd, it felt wide open. No sample stations, no congestion, no navigating carts in every direction. I walked in with a list of five items and was in the checkout line within five minutes. Only two staffed lanes were open, plus self-checkout, but with just one person ahead of me, I stuck with a cashier and was out quickly. And for once, I actually bought only what I came for. If you're trying to avoid the Costco "cart creep," give the late evening run a shot.

I was in the market for a new television as well, and had previously stopped at best buy. While strolling through the aisles, I realized the prices were better at Costco, and so were the warranties, so I went ahead and purchased. I also was hosting a get together the following evening, and was able to purchase 6 large pizzas at a great price. Everyone was friendly and service was quick!

Plus I now have national road hazard warranty and a 45,000 mile mileage warranty. Ordering online would, you'd still have to find a place to mount and balance them, plus and road hazard is a pain to claim. Floyd was very helpful and took care of special ordering my tires. The car is a sports car, so it would not fit on their racks to lift the car. That didn't stop them, they used a floor jack and did them one at a time, they went the extra mile and did the extra work. I am very happy.

Fortunately the over the top rude employee is nowhere to be seen any longer but neither is any other employees. Aldi's really seems to be running on minimum manpower because they never have anyone running a register and the shelves are a bit messy and understocked. I still go there but it is never become my one-stop shopping experience for all my grocery needs. I do like the meat and cheese sections as well as the ethnic / European products and the frozen section has a lot of unique products. The produce section may have a lot of products but the shelf life is suspect and the depth of product choices in all sections is limiting. Aldi's you have gone from a 5 star, to a 1 star and now back to a middle of the road 3 stars. Please replace yourself with your sophisticated big brother - Trader Joe.
