They have an ad showing two burgers for $5. I thought these were in their market grill ready to eat.
Bill S.

Instead of ready to eat burgers, as the picture shows, these are raw patties that you get in the meat department. I went there expecting to have lunch and was told those burgers are sold in the meat department only. I sent a message to corporate about this and they replied that they forwarded to my local store. I have not heard back from the store yet and I'm curious how they will handle it. It sounds like bait and switch to me. Nowhere in the ad does it say these are raw patties

Absolutely love the floral department! My husband sent me flowers at work and not only was the flower arrangement stunning, it was delivered at the time he requested. And when shopping, you can't beat the "just because" selection either. $8 dozen roses that last for 2 weeks and are gorgeous!

Best grocery store. Ever. I get a lot of my meat for smoking at the hyvee meat department. Wide selection and great quality!

Let me preface my review with this: I got married a couple of months ago & undoubtedly wanted a beautiful and chic wedding. However, I'm realistic and didn't want to get caught up in the wedding hype and spend ridiculous amounts of money when I could make smarter choices to achieve the same feel without breaking the bank. I also knew I didn't want all the stress of DIYing flowers, so I met with recommended florists. While they all had great options and seemed nice enough something felt off.. maybe it was because of the crazy price quotes for simple arrangements (hydrangeas, roses & babys breath)?! But all of that changed when I met with Jennifer, the floral manager, at Hy-Vee. I contacted her and we set up an appointment. We reviewed my wants, dislikes, examples, budget etc. Following the appointment she made a couple of floral samples for centerpieces, boutonnieres, corsages and bouquets for me to take a look at. They were amazing!! She captured exactly what I was looking for and I was so pleased. She worked quickly to get me a quote on the flowers that I liked and even made suggestions for alternatives when I inquired. I cannot put into words how beautiful and of high quality the flowers were and how easy it was to work with Jennifer. She made everything so painless and it all turned out even more beautiful than I could have imagined. The best part was that I actually spent less than I budgeted for because of her suggested alternatives. I achieved the same look and spent approximately $400 less than the lowest quote from other florists. I am SO impressed with Hy-Vee's floral department and hope that other brides start looking to utilizing their services. I achieved a simplistic yet chic look at a very reasonable price. And, if I may so myself, they were by far the prettiest flowers I've seen at a wedding in the past year!

Good place to have dinner or lunch time while you shop .

Poor selection of products with staff that doesn't know where anything is located. Cleanliness is lacking.

Shrimp & Sausage Boil: A stew of shrimp, sausage, and corn. The ingredients were of very good quality; the shrimp were firm and fresh, and there were over a dozen in one serving. The sausage had a rich smoky flavor, and the corn was sweet and juicy. The seasoning was basic garlic butter, with black pepper to remove any fishy smell and enhance the aroma, resulting in a subtle creamy flavor overall. Mashed Potatoes with Gravy: The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy with a distinct buttery aroma. Unfortunately, the gravy was a bit too salty. Mixed Vegetables: Purely boiled vegetables, completely unseasoned, too bland. I used them to dip the mashed potatoes, which made it absolutely better. Fried Chicken Tender: Scalding hot. Although the crisp wasn't crispy enough, it was still very aromatic.

This little market is the perfect addition that midtown area needed. They have all your typical groceries, some options for fresh produce, as well as some specialty items you may not find at all grocery stores! They have a large selection of craft sodas, olives for your charcuterie needs, plus so much more! The owner said if there is anything you want that they don't have, they'll get it in for you. Not only is this a grocery store, but they also have two unique additions inside the store - LC's Hamburgers and Zero. LC's is good old fashioned burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets, with a few other side options. Zero is a fresh juice and smoothie bar, in addition to having fresh ice cream and elote in a cup! If you've ever been to Tropicana, its very similar. I am so very excited that this is now a new option walking distance from my work for lunch, and I have a feeling my office will be keeping alot of business coming in here!

They had a lot of varieties and brands of liquors. We stopped by the store to get some snacks, sodas and lottery tickets. Prices were reasonable for the items. The cashiers were friendly, assisted us with quick checkout.

Recently they added on a wing around their deli, and it looks a little more suburban than the area but not a total eyesore. I often feel you can judge a grocery store by their produce quality, and here it's always pretty good if not a bit more expensive than other stores. They also have a nice bakery area, beer & wine, and all the candy my girls could ever want to find. Not a place I do my weekly shopping but absolutely fantastic for popping in for a quick thing here or there.

Back when I worked down the street from here, and lived nearby, I used to pop in here frequently for beer, wine, and to indulge in their great salad bar. I don't often find myself grocery shopping in this part of town any longer, but when I do I always notice that they still have a great selection of local items, including beer and wine. AND, they still rock a great salad bar. I popped in here most recently thinking I might try one of the waldo take and bake pizzas that I'd heard were rumoured to be available, and was a bit sad that I would have to get thin crust to get any meats on a 'za. Definitely not Cosentino's fault, but that would be an improvement as I'm not a waldo thin crust fan. At any rate, I think you'll find most of what you need here at a somewhat reasonable price. I'd put prices somewhere in between whole foods and price chopper. While you might pay a little more than going down the street to Price Chopper, you'll find a cleaner shop, and tons more local options, which I always enjoy. Now that I live a little bit further out I find visiting this grocery store to be a bit nostalgic, and I enjoy seeing what little treasures I can find if I find myself here.

I may go to McGonigle's for tasso and boudin, and Hy-Vee for shrimp and gas money, but this is where I do my everyday shopping-overall, a cart full of plain old groceries costs me less here than Hy-Vee, Price Chopper, or Sunfresh, and it's as close to my house as anything else (I REFUSE to do WalMart). While Festival doesn't harken back to the days of the original "box store", it's plain inside, but clean. There's no floral shop, but they have pretty much every other department you'd find at the snootier grocery stores: deli, salad bar, bakery, pharmacy, a small liquor department. And in this transitional neighborhood, that's enough. Unlike another reviewer, I have no problem with the quality of their meats, and they nearly always cost less than other places. And I have yet to find a better bagel than their bakery's honey wheat or multigrain. Sadly, I can't buy Roasterie here-they tried a limited selection for awhile, but it just didn't sell well enough in this mostly working class area. Probably because of the growing ethnic diversity of the area, there's a fairly expansive selection of Mexican food, and you can buy Halal meat (whatever that is) and a whole goat (with prior notice)! The employees are always friendly, and the manager always at least nods and says "Hi, thanks for coming in." That, and the low prices, have kept me coming in every week for the last 11 years.
