This Dollar General is cleaner than other Dollar General's I have been to. When I come by there is often an employee organizing the shelves. We do usually have to wait for someone to come to the cashier so we can check out. This store is usually not busy so getting in and out is quick but having to flag down someone to check us out is time consuming. read more

I love the good deals here but the customer service is awful. Except for Kat who got yelled at cuz we talked to her for one minute. I felt bad for her, the manager was awful. While standing in line all you could hear was the cashier & whoever the lady with black hair is talking about their new hire... & im not the only one who was standing in line listening. Visited the Dollar General in Citrus Heights recently and found the store well stocked. It's convenient for quick shopping trips.

I go here once a week and most of the staff are great ! But James is a horrible cashier he has the world's biggest attitude. He's very rude. He knocked something off the check stand and didn't bother to try and come around to clean it up just handed me the paper towels and allowed me and my husband to clean up the glass and liquid I'm pretty sure that was my straw with him. I try to be level headed and nice and think about how people go through stuff but if you hate your job and people please get out of customer service!!! read more

I would give this store zero stars if I could! I will never shop here again. I heard one of the cashiers being quite rude to a special needs person who came in. The stuff she said to him was beyond rude. No one should be talked to that way for any reason. She doesn't need to have a job working with the public if she doesn't like people. I knew someone who worked there that was not treated so well either. I'd rather pay more money at the gas station or drive to the store than to see people who don't deserve it being mistreated. Allow paying customers to use the restroom. Staff denied me access to the restroom that used to be available, citing bad people messing up the restroom (i.e, they don't want to clean up after others). This is not a good message to paying customers. Dollar Tree isn't far away from this location. read more

Terrible costumer service this lady named luca was rude and stolen $10 I checked my receipt it looked weird the amount of stuff I have gotten was wrong then I went back to ask her why my receipt looked weird and she had me pay more then what it should have been with a rude attitude she called her manager don't remember her name she is tall short curly gray hair said No everything looks fine some of the stuff you bought were tax but it don't show on the receipt understand don't take my time witch makes no scenes to me other then think they take peoples money never coming back !!!!!! read more

I have always loved the deals at Dollar General but the customer service by this one woman, (I do not remember her name but she has shoulder length gray curly hair), I have to say is atrocious. Seriously she just acts like she hates her job and it absolutely shows. This is like the third time I have unfortunately had this interaction with this sour puss-I will NEVER go back to this one store on Auburn again. Also, the DG app is the most unfriendly user interface I have ever used. Why can't the deals just be tied to your phone number instead of having to scan them in the store, it takes to much time and when you have unhelpful employees that are unwilling to assist you in making sure the customer gets the most savings, then what is the point? Just left this Dollar General at 8:58 p.m. tonight . I left feeling very uncomfortable and very embarrassed after the big red-headed old female cashier wearing a black t-shirt was so abrassive & so rude and yelled at me for not walking up to cash register fast enough. I replied back to her uh yes I'm coming and she went off. As I get to register, she started in just insane behavior. She.flst out and said she doesn't care if I'm a customer and she can say do what she wants. She continued to tell me that I'm rude and kept foing on and on. Someth .and loud.. I told her she needed to stop and I also told me I was being very rude..She made no attempt to even try to bring it down a notch or to stop being confrontstinal. She had no right to make a scene and tell me that she could care less if im the customer.. She told the other nice cashier you got cash her and walked away still going on and on. It was just gross the way she made a scene over nothing, and her aggressive and irrational behavior is scary.I have never encountered such a rude, miserable, and unprofessional individual as her.. The date is 9/4/24, and it is 8:55 PM. The doors are locked, even though they are supposed to remain open until 9 PM. As someone who is homeless and hasn't eaten all day, I was hoping to get some chips or something to eat. I called the store, and an employee answered. I informed them that the store should be open for another 5 minutes. The employee replied that they were having register issues and added that it wasn't my concern. The workers are extremely kind, much more kind than I would be if I was working in a oven. The store seems hotter than outside when it's 109 degrees. I'm pretty sure not having a working a/c is illegal. Wouldn't be surprised to see a lawsuit against stores like this one for forcing people to work in hot weather. read more

There are several items that I always visit DG to buy because I can't find them anywhere else, but that is the only reason. The prices are actually higher than can be found in many other stores. I visited this store today and found the items I wanted, so all good there. After checking out with about $50 in bulky purchases, I asked to use the restroom but was told no. I wasn't happy, as I really needed the restroom, and had just spent $50 there, but, oh, well. Guess I'll have to go straight home. Then on exiting with my large purchases, I was told I could not carry them out in the cart. They have made the carts so they will not fit through the door. How convenient! For the STAFF! I will still go to DG for the items I can't find elsewhere, but only then. Their customer service is very poor, considering they would not be in business at all without us. read more

Extremely rude to customers. There is an older African American lady with very short hair that I have witnessed being extremely rude and having a poor attitude towards others. I personally had her throw a quarter at me and then chase me out of the store I thought she was going to punch me. gone here for years no problems, went in today with my mom and the black woman at the cash register must've been having a bad day. we walk up to the counter with no greeting and she starts quickly ringing up our items. when we were paying my mom (being older) had trouble with her card, which seemed to anger the woman, she tried to hurry my mom up and see what was happening then told her the register was froze; my mom didn't understand what she meant and asked to just pay cash. the woman angrily said "no! it's frozen! you froze it, you have to go to [other register]". we said okay even though my mom was confused and began walking to the other register, however the woman continued to talk rudely to my mom and kept yelling infront of the whole line at my mother that she supposedly broke her register. I love going to this store over having to go to Walmart or Safeway. The employees are beyond friendly and helpful. I always find what I'm looking for (and then some), and I'm not over paying for it. Only issue (which isn't the stores fault) is the amount of homeless people that hang out infront and around the store, but that being said, the employees handle it very well when unpleasant people come in and need to be asked to leave or take care of them and get them out quickly. read more

I was very impressed with this particular dollar general location. There was an ad that came out in the paper on December 12, 2018 advertising that Tall Speaker Towers, were going to go on sale from December 13 to the 15th, a limited time. I waited patiently for the next morning to go and get the speaker. The morning I went to three different locations HILLSDALE, HARRIS, MARYSVILLE , that had already sold them. Called One of those locations before arriving to inquire if they were in stock before getting there and his customer service with very poor customer service phone skills, he did not want to even go and look to ensure that they were in stock and told me I had to come in. KUDOS CITRUS HEIGHTS on Auburn Blvd. Also the staff had nothing but the most helpful service help carry mstuff in my car. DAYS BEFORE AD STATED!!! Why advertised and tell us that it is a limited time and we have to wait for that day, and then when we get there and they are not in stock? However I drove 10 Miles to get to Dollar General in Citrus Heights, where they had plenty in stock great customer service great way to full fill your advertisement No false advertising in this location I loved it. read more

This store is awesome! It's clean and cheap, which is hard to come by. They have just about everything you can think of and it's all quite organized. The customer service is great as well. All of the employees here we're very polite and answered all of my questions to the best of their knowledge. I have definitely found my new grocery shopping spot! read more

I am very unsatisfied with my trip this evening! You were out of stock on everything I came in for. Then your prices rang up at the register higher than what they were advertised at. When I told the cashier, he went to check the advertised price I was referring to. He came back to tell me that he did see the price ad I was referring to, but could not do anything about it because it was a vendor sign. I told him that is false advertising, and the only reason I bought two of the Monster energy drinks was because of that sale sign. He just shrugged his shoulders at me, then gave me an attitude when I told him he still needed to fix the price of an item that had a Dollar General yellow price tag of $1.00, and he charged me $1.25. I realize the price differences are not huge, but I went there because I try to budget well. Really it's the principle of it all more than anything. I am very unhappy with my entire trip there, especially with the cashier's horrible customer service! This is my favorite store for grabbing something quick, I will pick Dollar General before Raley's or Smart N Final any day for quick household items. Allison, Alan and Marilyn are My current favorite employees there but everyone is always very nice and very helpful. The store is always well cleaned, well stocked and never leaves me disappointed. I just wish the property owner would do more with the location, but that's no fault of Dollar General or it's employees just the slum lord that owns the shopping center there. read more
