I am an older person who always ends up buying more than I planned because of the unexpected bargains I find here! Tonight, it ended being a great sale on canned tomatoes and tomato paste - 10 cents each! Lots of bags and packing but Amber was my checker and was an absolute DELIGHT! She pulled in another checker to help and they were both very kind and cheerful! I very much appreciated their kindness and patience with me. I am a regular shopper here but this was my first time meeting Amber. I'm always on the lookout for bargains and though, like everywhere, the prices go up, I can usually count on very good quality and usually some nice "stock up" kind of bargains. The best grocery outlet I've ever been to and honestly, best grocery store I've been to in Sacramento (lived here for decades). Shoutout to Teddie for being so pleasant and welcoming and everyone working this evening. Everyone was so nice! Completely different from the other grocery outlets I've been to. Everything was very clean, well organized, and the deals were great. I hope this place stays open for a long time. New location is nicely done. Parking lot spacious without high traffic makes it peaceful to patronize. Though the parking lot is a little too dim. However, inside the store it's bright and just right! The owner(s) must love olives as there was quite the selection of olives. It's a month after opening and the shelves were still in great condition. I came hunting for boba pearls, specifically O's Bubble Variety Instant Boba Pack (but macha is yucka). I found on the dried goods shelves a different boba tea package. And it was macha. Darn! Nicely organized, spacious, clean, kind staff, this store is good. Items I checked had generous best by dates. Less specialty treats than I've seen at other GO but still plenty of variety! Edit: for the Yelper who stated this location isn't in Gold River, this GO is in Gold River. Been coming since they opened last year. Great store, so glad it is here. The cashiers are "ok" but several of them have a "I really don't want to be here" vibe, no matter how much I try to engage. Today was a delightful experience from cashier Marie (#0141). I hope her positive energy is contagious and transfers over to the others. I understand we all have bad days but when it's a chronic way of being, it's not how I'd want my "guests" handled. Kudos to the independent owner of this store (who has a great reputation of GO ownership) for operating his store top notch with good selection of bargains (hmm just learned prices can be different from store to store). After taking over the building where the 24 Hour Fitness used to be, Grocery Outlet has revamped the space to be a bargain market! Plenty of parking, friendly staff and great deals, especially for the holidays. Produce is a great price and their flower bouquet section had more than I expected! read more

I purchased a watermelon and usually my items are good! But it wasn't worth going back to were I purchased it... Regardless the watermelon almost exposed! Wasn't good at all! Couldn't return it to the place I bought it! They wouldn't allow me. I would have to return the melon at the same location. That's not a good thing! What if I was traveling and couldn't go to the same place! I know Grocery Outlet can do better with their products and return policies! Great store but first of all they're not in GOLD RIVER. They are in SUN RIVER. The owner should know where his location is before he puts out the wrong information. I mean, even the complex sign says Sunriver on it. I would have given you five stars if you knew what location you were in. read more

This is a wonderful GO, we love to find great wine and this location has an AMAZING wine department. The customer service could improve greatly here. They are to themselves they don't talk to you. The last thing they wanna do is talk to you. I have witnessed numerous times while shopping here where the cashiers will treat somebody completely different in the way that they dress or the way that they come in versus me who's coming in with two little kids who are kind of wild. There are some in the store that are really good sweet kind cashiers like the black lady, elder & wore glasses that was at the front of the store as a cashier. I really loved her personality, she made it feel better. The tall black dude is pretty nice too. He changed the atmosphere too. These people I mention were great and they treated me just like everyone else. The guy that is in here who is white with some long brown hair very sweet is generally very nice. He was so kind it made it easier to go in with the way it feels unpersonable . I believe that is probably the employees there that make this a bad work environment and maybe the responsibilities with the pay. It would be nice to go into a grocery store and be treated just like everyone else. I really can't say more about rewarding the people whom are just really kind and Less assuming. I can feel it & more importantly my kids feel it. Unfortunately it's the cheapest closest store here. It is the least warm in approach here where it wasn't always. I am not sure where the guy with the tattoos is whom was Hispanic. The people whom are there are really not inviting, kind or caring. The people who are better at conveying judgment on others here are the ones probably affecting the atmosphere. It's such a pity! Some of them plays here make it so much easier to enjoy going in with my kids. But the majority still here really just need improvement. read more

It's a privilege being the second person to review this grocery outlet. I was one of the many who went here on opening day. I got up at 6:30. Had some coffee and waited out front. The DJ was playing his music, the air was crisp, and everyone had their five dollar off coupon in hand. When they finally open the doors, I had a mission and that mission was to find deals. I was able to get a bag of groceries for about $10. When was the last time you got a bag of groceries for $10? And I'm not talking about a bag of stale bread I'm talking about a bag full of, not only one but two packs of breakfast sausage, namebrand, English muffins, yogurt, two frozen salmon dishes that I probably wouldn't get next time, and some delicious raspberry jam, I forgot to mention I also got eggs. No doubt it costing only $10 was after a five dollar coupon and five dollar gift card I received for being one of the first hundred people in the store. But still what a bargain. Everything was delicious except for that salmon dish. People I got to say I'm hesitating throwing away the other one. But hey, that's no reason to reduce my five star rating. That one's on me. If you don't like ketchup on a hotdog and you order ketchup on a hotdog, do you complain? Or do you look yourself in the mirror and take some self responsibility. read more
