The worse food experience I've ever had. I order my food online because that is the only way they allow you to do it if you want to place an order. When you call their number it does not work. Which prompt you to place your order online. I placed my order online. I received an email confirmation and a text confirmation. I actually received two email confirmations. Text tells me what time will be ready. I drive to the place to get my food and they refused to give me my food they say at first they don't do DoorDash, even though there is a sign when you pull up that says that way for DoorDash. They then told me and switch the storyby saying my receipt didn't print out so they can't give me my food because they don't see the order. I am showing them my receipt that they text me and emailed me, but they still refused me. I had my kid with me in the car and that's who I came to get food for. No matter how many times I show them my receipt that they emailed me. They refused to give me my food because they said they lost my receipt and refused to refund me. So basically they are telling me they have no way to look at the orders placed online, how stupid is that and how does that make sense???? You can't see the order and you can't help me. About 30 minutes after leaving they didn't text me and say oh we found your receipt, you can come get your food. I already drove an hour. Why would I come and drive back to get food that they refuse to give me after telling me I never ordered. I also got a text with an update on my order from the original system that texted me. How is it that they were able to go into their system and mark my food as done if they couldn't see my order before????? How does any of this make sense. You refuse to give me my order and food because you lost my receipt and thennnnn then say there's no way for you to checks??? LIARS AND SCAMMERS ! They steal your money!! I explained as soon as i pulled into the drive way that i live an hour away and how long will it take?? They knew i was not going to come back and get that food after they refused to help me. It was a horrible experience. How do you refuse something someone paid for because they don't have their stuff together with their busines. Look at the picture of the text telling me to come back for my food after refusing to give it to me with multiple proof that i ordered. Oh and get this at first they tried to act like they were making my food and then suddenly oh we can't give it to you

Nothing to write home about. Food is kinda of bland but not much is to be expected for the price you're paying. I wouldn't make this date night or anything, but more like a quick lunch for the kids. They have a steam bar/table (think food court samples) with food that looks like it might have been sitting for a while. I opted for wings and drinks for $7, my husband took the lunch special for $4.99. He gave me a discount for whatever reason, so I paid $10 for both meals. It's a lot of food for the price, just kind of bland. We will take he kids back for lunch to try other items on the menu.

The Canton House on Buford Highway is my family's go-to for authentic Cantonese dim sum in Atlanta…read more The food is always up to expectations each and every visit. Having been at least once every couple months for years, it's our Chinese comfort food as dim sum is meant to be. Although I would recommend arriving at anytime they are open, we find the absolute best time for dim sum is to arrive right at opening on Saturday or Sunday. This time lets us beat the wait, get a great table fast, and the food is super plentiful, hot and fresh out of the kitchen. The chrysanthemum tea is a must have and complements the food as a perfect, tasty, and just sweet enough palate cleanser (although I would prefer to add the rock sugar myself to my tea, they serve it with sugar already inside the pot). For the absolute best pairing with your chrysanthemum tea, make sure to save room for the awesome pineapple buns while supplies last. They were out today and we all collectively cried (will be going back just for the pineapple buns soon...we are just not complete without them!). We love all the dishes, but our absolute favorites (outside of the pineapple buns) are the pork spare ribs with black bean, the beef rice rolls/noodles, shrimp dumplings, and turnip cakes. Add some spicy sauce to the spare ribs and turnip cakes to really set them off! For iced coffee lovers who like it really strong, don't pass up on the iced coffee. It has legs that are strong enough to walk, but completely complements the dim sum with a little extra boost to help you enjoy the day. So, I challenge others to find a better dim sum place in Atlanta. That is why Canton House earns my 5th star and looking forward to getting my pineapple buns (really) soon!

We started with the flower tea, amazing choice! Sweet and warming, nicely aromatic. Perfect start. Then the dim sum carts rolled in and we chowed down. DISHES I ORDERED - Siu Mai: Not the best I've had. Quite oily on the outside, but the flavor isn't bad. It does...taste like siu mai. It's just nothing spectacular - Chinese Broccoli: A classic! Very good - Beef Chow Fun: A very chewy and bouncy home made flat noodle dish. Savory, salty, and flavorful! Good amount of tender beef too. - Shrimp Balls: Crispy and fried on the outside, yummy, with good big shrimp ball. Yummy classic sweet and sour sauce too. Delicious - Egg Rolls: Good, not too oily, a normal egg roll - Spare ribs: Possibly my favorite dish! Tender, not too chewy, good savory sweet flavor. -- Overall, it's not bad but it's nothing to write home about. My favorite item was probably the spare ribs. The rest were standard in my opinion. However, service is fast since it is dimsum, so perfect to eat when hungry! Also great ambiance for big group parties or hangouts!

If you come on the weekends, beware the lines and wait time is absolutely nuts. Hostess was getting a bit frustrated, but all the servers/staff inside with the dim sum carts were super nice and personable. There's a tablet to check in at the door when you walk in. The inside was also renovated and looks very different than the old restaurant. Parking is also limited when it gets busy. I don't really eat meat much anymore besides seafood. So I didn't try too many dishes. But my dad loved everything he had, especially the century egg congee. I love the shrimp hargow, basically like shrimp dumplings with a transparent dough. My favorite though was the shrimp steamed rice roll. The shrimp were big and plump, and the sauce they pour on it is really good. Like a soy sauce with a touch of sweetness. I also really enjoyed the fried rice and the hot tea. Everything I tried I can wholeheartedly recommend, but honestly I didn't try too many dishes. I would definitely come back again!! The food itself was good, no complaints there, but it took a long time for our dishes to come out. It seemed like the restaurant was understaffed for the holiday rush, and the wait times definitely showed it. There are some differences to how menu items are made/taste from when I first had it, so I feel as though the chef has most likely changed. It's both good and bad because the menu items with taro aren't quite as nice as before, but other things are either the same or better like the Beef Ho Fun for example. The chicken feet have changed too, but both were good. All the classic items are still basically the same. I liked the pan fried chives dumplings and beef cheung fun here. There were only 3 other tables enjoying their dinner besides us. We ordered two waters and a plate with roasted pork and honey BBQ pork over rice with bok choy. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes, fresh and hot. The roasted pork and honey BBQ pork were both tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced -- not overly salty, not too fatty, just really well-prepared. The honey BBQ pork had a slightly caramelized glaze with a smoky sweetness, while the roasted pork had a nice savory depth and crispy edges. The bok choy was fresh and cooked just right, adding a nice crunch and balance to the plate. The rice soaked up all the juices really well and tied everything together. Amazing food, excellent service, and amazing food; it warranted repeating. I just moved back in to town and was excited to have my favorite Cantonese food in Atlanta but honestly, after our meal today, I don't know that I'll be back and I certainly won't be bringing any more of my friends. Service: Everyone was still really kind. But the food came out slowly for how dead they were. We were halfway there of our dishes when I mentioned to the waiter that two more dishes were missing. He spoke with the waiter who took our order and they said they were coming. A half hour later and the dishes still hadn't arrived. I asked again and they apologize profusely and said it would be out shortly. Unfortunately, that's where the niceties ended... Food: Overall, the food was really bad. The best thing about Cantonese food is how complex the flavors are and when there is a good chef, it is my favorite cuisine in the world. That is what BBQ Corner has been in the past...but not anymore. All of the dishes, especially dishes with sauce, were overly sweet and very one note. The eggplant with garlic came with a bright red sauce that had no garlic in it. When I mentioned to the waiter that it was the wrong sauce, she said "No, that is spicy garlic sauce." I have had that dish at this restaurant at least five times and more than 20 times elsewhere. It was the wrong sauce and the sauce wasn't good. She and another waiter spoke to the kitchen and later apologized. Assessment: I think ownership changed and they took their cooks with them. Instead of the lite, complex flavors of Cantonese food of which they were once masters, this meal felt like mediocre Chinese takeout. While the waitstaff is lovely and mistakes happen (I still tipped 30% because it was Christmas), the food just wasn't good enough to warrant a return trip. I'm sad because this place used to be my favorite...one summer a friend and I ate there three times in one week. But things have changed and definitely not for the better.
