Founded by Gisella Civale in 2005, Dolce Nonna was created both in honor of our grandmother, Maria DiGiorgio, and her authentic Italian recipes, as well as to offer an alternative to the unhealthy junk chock full of citric acid and preservatives on the supermarket shelves. We have decided to take action and bring the old way of eating back to the present day.

Meet the Business Owner: Gisella C.
My name is Gisella Civale, and I am the president of Dolce Nonna, a specialty food business based in Queens, NY. I created this company in honor of my mother, Maria DiGiorgio, and her authentic Italian recipes. I am one of seven children who immigrated to the US in 1958. After constantly being bombarded with unhealthy junk chock full of citric acid and preservatives on the supermarket shelves I decided to take action and bring the old way of eating back to the present day.
