If you don't want to see malls and jobs disappear, shop local! The pet store is well-kept and clean, and the adjacent & connected animal hospital is a bright and cheerful area at the front. The coolest part: on Aug 11, 2019 they had Halloween displays up already. Instant 5 stars. It doesn't stink like a barn, the animal housing was clean, and so was the human bathroom. That's significant because it's evidence of a conscientious team. These are the people you want to take care of pets. The staff was attentive, communicative, and eager to help. There were a lot of employees all over the store to cover any questions. This company is doing the right stuff to compete with online retail: Clean store, plenty of well trained and communicative staff, and a wide variety of food and other supplies. Most of the cats were napping. The two cats that seemed to be in the process of adoption by families were alert, curious, and not hiding from the grabby children. The fish were aloof so they will probably never get adopted. They get no sympathy from me with that attitude. The aquarium furniture was so cool I'd love large versions in every room of my place. Remember the pirate skeleton draped over the moving treasure chest lid? PetSmart doesn't have that. That was from the the 1970s--maybe earlier--so no points were deducted. They had a lot of lizards. There was no evidence of cannibalism, so that's good. Last but not least, I visited the birds. They were active and happy, or sound asleep. There was a pet shop off Clark street that had a bird room I'd visit regularly. I wore a yellow t-shirt and a floppy fishing hat for their benefit and they seemed to appreciate the gesture. They'd hop on my finger for short rides up and down the cage, and bite the brim and chin strap of my hat. Good times. Birds don't belong in cages. Free the birds! And shop in brick and mortar stores. Are you gonna put kids out of work and have malls close so you can save a few bucks on cat litter?

It feels good to give a good treat to the dogs we know and something that is good for them also. This location has a few minor issues inside location, like dirty floors and dog waste on the floors in many spots. I know the owners should be responsible for their dogs' actions, and pick-up any waste they leave behind.

Everything was perfect…read more Here's a brief backstory: I have a Ragdoll cat, Honey, who had a very traumatizing experience at The Velvet Touch (see my review and avoid that place at all cost). The Velvet Touch Salon groomer couldn't even touch Honey as she got aggressive with her because they decided to put Honey in a room full of dogs for grooming (never before did Honey behave like that), so I was a bit nervous about taking Honey shortly after that experience to another groomer. However, the ladies at Happy Cat took such a good care of her and Honey was the sweet girl that she always has been and NOT aggressive at all. Honey has found a permanent groomer for herself. Happy Cat is such a wonderful place and it's truly a SALON for cats. Chrissy has set up tall crates for cats to keep them separated and safe with each crate having a cat tree, bed, and even a litter box. The place is also very clean and beautifully maintained. But most of all, the ladies treat your kitty with care and kindness where you can feel confident that your cat will be in great hands. What a difference a groomer makes- one that couldn't come near your cat and another that has no problem and your cat leaves HAPPY. That speaks volumes!!!
