Looks like a maggot (bot fly?) coming out of my dog's head! I had to get it removed by the vet.

STAY AWAY!! This is a very untrustworthy business! I will never board my dog here again. Read other Google reviews about people's dogs losing weight and getting injured and stressed out from being boarded at this disgusting dive of a place. I couldn't use my regular boarding place because I moved so I decided to try Paws in Paradise back in July 2021 based on the reviews. Everything seemed fine. They wouldn't let me inside the building or walk my dog back to the room, which I found very strange as my other boarding places do. So it seemed as if they maybe had something to hide, but I let it go. A week later I picked up my dog and HE SMELLED HORRIBLE! Omg he smelled like a dirty kennel! Based on how he smelled I don't think they keep the place clean and I question how well they take care of the animals. My dog did not seem okay - he was nervous and panting and wasn't acting normal. He's been boarded before and never acted like this when I picked him up. Also, he had a growth coming out of his head that he never had before. I swear it looked like a maggot!! I had to go to the vet to get it removed and he hasn't had one since. I would stay away!! I will never come back. I go to Petsmart now and they are amazing. My dog doesn't come back smelling bad and he acts normal and happy when I pick him up from Petsmart.

So excited for my puppies to visit. Sam was delightful to speak with for enrollment and scheduling their first visit.

Charlie after Doggie Day Care at Paws in Paradise!

Awesome friendly staff & sale packages! the day care open hours are so helpful especially with my 44-1hr work commute and they're right off the highway! I was very nervous about leaving my dog at daycare but it truly is paradise for pups! He has some separation anxiety, and needed to get him to socialize more, and adjust to his new home. The staff answered all my concerns and questions, they stay up to date with events, know my dog by name(even when we took a break for a few weeks) & I love that I can pack a lunch for my pup as well! They also have cameras to watch online during his stay. It's very relieving to know your dog is being cared for. Thank you for taking such good care of Charlie and always having a staff with great energy!

I was a little confused by the name. This same location is the location for The dog brow inc grooming. I've tried multiple groomers in the downers area and have always been disappointed. So I asked one of my groomer friends from the animal rescue I'm part of if she knew anyone. She recommended the brow inc and they just happen to be very close to me. Being that they have such a top rated groomer, I was a little worried that the prices would be very high but they are very equivalent to other prices I've paid in the area. They did a beautiful job on my whoodle. This is by far the best he has looked. My Easton seemed to love them. In fact, he didn't seem to care that I walked in. Lol. The shop was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. This is definitely our new favorite groomer! Thanks!

Max grooming at The Dog Brow!!!

Max received his 2nd grooming from "The Dog Brow." I am extremely satisfied with the results. Max also attends daycare at Paws In Paradise, I appreciate the great customer service and friendly staff. Max Loves Daycare, he's always excited about drop off!

Smoky my little baby!

Anyone with a dog who is use to a home environment would love this place! I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has a dog that doesn't socialize well with other dogs. We have a 3 year old Golden Retriever that we recently left with Janice at her home. He was well taken care of and kept busy. Our golden has never been caged and gets scared easily, he is use to having free range of the house so we were worried about taking him to a boarding place where he would be locked up most of the day. We got lucky to find Wags and Wiggles. It was in our area and the prices are unbeatable! Janice took great care of him. We left him there for 6 days and nights and Janice sent us photos of our pup almost everyday with a little update on how he was doing and what he was up to and he looked very happy! She has a big fenced in yard where the dogs can play and exercise. He was able to socialize with other dogs and feel like he was at home which is what we wanted for him while we were away. I will be using Wags and Wiggles again in the future!

For daycare - the updates and improvements from the former Dog Spot are noticeable and major. I feel the dogs are physically safer now. There is an outdoor play area too so when the weather cooperates the dogs get some fresh air time too. I have no hesitation bringing any of our dogs to Dogtopia!

I could write a novel about the way this location treated my dog and me, but what it comes down to…read moreis as follows: 1. These are not dog people 2. They have a hard time staffing, even at the low level of service they do provide - the rotating door of staff makes it so you don't really know what's going on with your pet or if the person you're working with understands how to work with dogs 3. The staff they do have will not always give you updates on the correct dog (long story short, I was on vacation and on the phone with Dogtopia at 1am only to find out my dog was NOT actually in a fight, something they had misreported on) 4. Picking up your dog and asking how they were that day will be met with blank stares and open mouths from the front desk workers, who seem shocked you may want to know if your dog is doing well or not 5. If your dog is not an "easy" dog (high energy, jumps, etc.) then they have no place at Dogtopia, where it's about cramming as many dogs as you can into one room with the lowest amount of effort required. 6. If you ask to view any video tapes of incidents that they claim your dog was a part of, they will tell you to get an attorney. I was also told that I was the only one who had ever asked to view a tape, "everyone else just trusts us" is what the GM said. If you read more reviews on Yelp, you'll see this track record of miscommunication and mistrust is prevalent with management here, no matter how many times they try to dismiss you because you're just not trusting them enough... It wasn't until my dog was dismissed after a year that I really took a step back to look at what the competition in the area offers! There are so many wonderful places that don't treat you and your dog like a dollar sign! It was a blessing that we were forced to expand our horizons, my dog who is high energy is already well loved and attended for at his new daycare. I get daily updates, a report card, and I can tell I'm working with dog people when I drop him off. If you left Dogtopia feeling like your dog is too much, I'm sorry they made you feel that way - there are places that will show your pet the effort they deserve WHILE communicating to you. If you read this far, cheers! *Additional: The lady who bathed my dog was great to him, that is the one bright note from my experience there!*

They just got back from their 5-night stay at OBKC, and I couldn't be happier. Because it's a smaller facility, OBKC's staff has more time to devote to each individual dog, which made me feel much more confident in leaving them there, especially with my older pup's health issues. The consistent routine each day, individual playtimes with staff, and constant access to clean, climate-controlled space and fresh water clearly kept my girls happy during their stay! You also have an option to spoil your pup with little frozen treats, and proceeds go to local charities. I received updates (with beautiful photos!) whenever I asked, and they took extra precautions to keep my older dog safe and comfortable. The pricing is very reasonable compared to other facilities, especially considering the personalized care. They came back to me clean and happy. One was even more excited to play with the staff on her way out than she was to see me! Scout and Cherry say thank you so much for taking such good care of them.

But Robin made friends with him and he even let her pet him which is rare. If my cat trusts someone, I trust them too. He has great instincts. Every day Robin would send me a picture of my cat and tell me how he is doing. When we were back from vacation, I found a log that Robin left me with all the details of what was done and how my cat behaved. This was a great experience and I really appreciate the fact that I could just relax and not be worried about my precious little furry friend.

I have used this pet sitting service for at least 10 years. At first, they were excellent. However,…read morein recent years, the quality of the sitters has gone downhill, Robin is not available in emergencies, and she's hands off, in terms of communication with clients, and helping her staff. Even though she lives one town over from us, she does not help sitters, when my dog is injured or monitor what the sitters do or don't do. First, there was one sitter who decided to turn on all of our decorative under & over cabinet kitchen lights (hot lights that were not to code, and we did not leave them on or use them) while we were out of the country --costing us $1500 in changing out the lighting since Robin's response was she could not go over to turn off the lighting but she'd have another sitter do it the next day. I truly worried my house would be set on fire. Kitchen deco lights were turned off and same sitter put on the decorative over the fp hot lighting instead as a "pretty night light." I had to ask once again, stop using lighting that is not left on, not labelled to turn on, and not in our notes to use. The sitter lacked practical knowledge of light bulbs. Then, another 7 one-week situations, where we left town, and no one communicated that our two dogs were jumping the 2 foot gate and going upstairs daily and using the upstairs puppy pads multiple times a day. Instead sitters kept that info largely to themselves (maybe mentioned 2x in notes) and one dog started getting lame, with a limp, which incurred over $2000 of vet visits, chiropractic, and laser treatments on his back legs after the trips. I kept thinking why is Sammy fine while we're here, and yet, gets hurt, every time we hire Robin's sitters? I asked Robin, don't your sitters think they should convey this info to me, or tell you, or confer with each other re why there are all these visits upstairs every day by the dogs (to a litter box, so there would be proof and they were cleaning upstairs), which mean a pet is jumping over a 2 foot gate, multiple times a day and how that may contribute to the limp my dog has? I have in the notes to sitters that the dogs should stay downstairs and there are multiple house signs saying that. Robin's response-- you need to find a different way to gate off the dogs, and test it out yourself. My sitters are not responsible for your gate arrangement for your dogs. I'm sorry but my dogs do different things when I'm home or even at work than what they do with us gone for a week. They've never tried to go upstairs when gated off, with us in town. It's just practical for the sitters to question how they're getting upstairs, and move the gate, if it's not effective or remove it all together to prevent further injury to the dogs. The last issue was this past month, my co2/fire alarm upstairs (a Kidde 10 year battery, expiration of 2029) went off, and was broken by a sitter because "she did not want the alarm to frighten the dogs." No one contacted the fire dept. or me or my husband (we were out of the country). I was texted the event 3 hrs after it occurred like it was nothing in particular by Robin, because the sitter "does not text" and Robin was too busy to answer the sitter's call. When I called Robin and insisted someone come back immediately, and gave them a list to check, the gas stove was found left on. Maybe not the source of the alarm, but still--it shows no one checked the safety of the house. Also, Robin showed zero concern and was not willing to call the fire dept for a check on our home, when I called her. She said that the sitter's husband is a fireman and he told his wife that alarms go bad all the time. She had no sense of urgency re my home and dog's safety. Well, my husband is a surgical nurse, so that's a nonsensical response. Once again, Robin cannot show up, and she does not train her sitters. When I returned, in complete frustration, i brought up the history of her inability to step in when something is a home fire risk or a dog injury risk and assess the situation in a mature manner to oversee her sitters . Her response was essentially that I ask for too much and too much specific communication. So, I asked for my multiple sets of keys returned. I don't trust this agency anymore with the care and safety of my home or pets. The very most important things are not handled well, which are the health & safety of the pets, and safety of the home. My advice is to find someone who both gets 100% of your money and sits your pets. Having a "hands off" agency owner who does not do her job is just a waste of your money.
