The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. On top of him being a senior sickly pug already and I was 5 days out from a work trip I could not cancel. I was STUCK! I called Lynn and she assured me they had the big open room for boarding. I booked his days and she assured me they had vet techs to give him the insulin he needed twice a day. Fast forward to the trip, i'm thousands of miles away. Kathy went out of her way to send me pics of him napping. He was eating, he was playing, he was sleeping through the night. He was his old self again. And the best part of all of this? ALL their staff is like Kathy and Lynn. Anything I have ever needed with my boy, they have come through for me. I don't honestly know what I would ever do without them. I'm moving to a burb 25 minutes away in the spring and I'll never change daycare locations-its worth the drive, and the peace of mind.

While he was there, they sent pictures every night, and he looked so happy. I also reserved a bath before pickup and tooth brushing during his stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and we know they absolutely love Indy. I always feel safe and confident dropping Indy off for daycare or boarding knowing that he's in great hands - what a great feeling! They are totally cage/crate free, which is perfect for Indy, and even though they take care of a lot of dogs they do an excellent job monitoring their behavior. At other kennels, Indy has come home with cuts or bite marks from aggressive dogs but NEVER at Camp Ruff It. Their prices are competitive and fair for the area and buying passes gets you a discount. The couple who runs Canine Connections (THIS IS NOT A CHAIN and they are not at all associated with Canine Connection (singular)!) - they are warm and friendly-- they love dogs and my dog took to them immediately (even the husband--normally my dog is terrified and reactive with with unknown males!) A few years back, I boarded my dog at a well-known doggie daycare in Elmhurst. It was crowded, stinky, and when I picked up my pup he was filthy and aggressive. This time I needed to spend some time in the hospital and felt completely at peace knowing my dog was being so well-cared for and loved at this facility. Your staff have disclosed a lot over the few years at pick up. I've been bringing my German Shepherd to Canine Connections for over 8 years, and I always trusted them to provide a safe, caring environment. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has completely shaken that trust. When I picked up my dog, I noticed visible bite marks--injuries that clearly occurred while in their care. What's worse, no one called me, there was no incident report, and nothing was mentioned at pickup. I had to take my dog to the vet for treatment out of my own concern. After nearly a decade of loyalty, I expected far better from Steve and the team at Canine Connections. Mistakes can happen, but failing to communicate when an animal is injured is unacceptable. This isn't just a customer service issue--it's about safety, responsibility, and basic decency toward the animals they're trusted to care for. It's heartbreaking to say this after so many years, but I strongly encourage other pet owners to rethink bringing their dog to Canine Connections. If something happens to your pet, you deserve to know about it immediately--not find out after the fact, with no explanation. A few pics but there was more Injuries- bites on arm and all around his neck. It was Clearly a dog fight that Steve is claiming "nothing happened". Mind you my dog came home crying and shaking in pain. Vet gave antibiotics for 10 days plus pain meds washed out all wounds and closely monitor has we needed staples but declined due to the need to put him to sleep.

Now we have two rescue dogs we got this last summer and they have been absolutely amazing with both -- Winston, a Jack Russell mix, is very timid and really gave Randi a hard time when she groomed him for the first time. She rolled with it and couldn't have been nicer about plans for the next time he came. I also really like that you can text them to request an appointment -- I am the worst about letting it slip my mind and it's tough calling when they're open b/c I don't want to bother them while the salon is full, so it's just super convenient to be able to send a message. The salon is really conveniently located, you just have to know to park behind the adjacent building (there are signs). Highly recommend -- great groomers that really care about their clients (and their owners, too)
