    Tail was abruptly shaven.

We took our dog, Tucker, to Wag Suites for what should have been a simple summer cut. Instead, we were left heartbroken and deeply concerned. Tucker was there for over four hours, and not once did we receive a call to pick him up. I called to follow up on Tucker, because it started to become alarming when three hours went by after dropping him off and no word from Wag Suites. Brian did not even know who Tucker was. We eventually had to show up in person just to get our dog back. When we did, we were shocked. He had been shaved down to the skin, his coat was completely uneven, and his nails weren't even properly trimmed. To make matters worse, he now had new mats, indicating he was never brushed or blow-dried. Brian then blamed the whole situation on us. We asked for him to be cut short, but he never mentioned we would see skin on him. We asked for a simple puppy-summer cut but mentioned several times we did not want him to be shaven. Our regular groomers later confirmed that the work was extremely poorly done and that there was no reason to shave him that much, as he had no mats to begin with. We told them what guard and cut we asked for and they also confirmed that the length of cut was significantly shorter than what we asked. According to them, no standard groom should take four hours, something was clearly wrong. What alarmed us even more was Tucker's behavior. Our normally happy, social dog came back scared, flinching, and hesitant to be touched. It's terrifying to even consider what may have happened during those four hours, but we're genuinely afraid that something traumatic occurred. Our dog has been groomed every month since he was a pup, and we have never received complaints that he was difficult to groom. That is not a reason for the bizarre length of time for this grooming took and it makes you wonder what they could possibly be doing with your dog for four consecutive hours. When we tried to talk to the owner, Brian, about our concerns, he was defensive, rude, and in complete denial. He refused to take responsibility and only reluctantly considered a refund -- which we never received, and ultimately had to dispute through our bank. When we returned the next day to follow up, we found the doors locked and had to speak to Brian through a Ring camera, which led to another cold and unproductive conversation. Brian lied about several matters, the refund, pick-up arrangements, and the grooming itself. Since then, we've heard from multiple other pet owners who've had similar horror stories at Wag Suites. Sadly, our experience doesn't seem to be an isolated case. We would never recommend this place to anyone. Your pet deserves to be treated with care and respect and based on our experience, Wag Suites failed on every level.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

She had plenty of tips and techniques and it was nice having her visit the home for the sessions to see how he is in that environment. Proceed with caution and we MISS KIM AND ED! (Previous original owners who sold this daycare to this jerk who only cares about the bottom line..... money and overbooking). Your staff have disclosed a lot over the few years at pick up. I've been bringing my German Shepherd to Canine Connections for over 8 years, and I always trusted them to provide a safe, caring environment. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has completely shaken that trust. When I picked up my dog, I noticed visible bite marks--injuries that clearly occurred while in their care. What's worse, no one called me, there was no incident report, and nothing was mentioned at pickup. I had to take my dog to the vet for treatment out of my own concern. After nearly a decade of loyalty, I expected far better from Steve and the team at Canine Connections. Mistakes can happen, but failing to communicate when an animal is injured is unacceptable. This isn't just a customer service issue--it's about safety, responsibility, and basic decency toward the animals they're trusted to care for. It's heartbreaking to say this after so many years, but I strongly encourage other pet owners to rethink bringing their dog to Canine Connections. If something happens to your pet, you deserve to know about it immediately--not find out after the fact, with no explanation. A few pics but there was more Injuries- bites on arm and all around his neck. It was Clearly a dog fight that Steve is claiming "nothing happened". Mind you my dog came home crying and shaking in pain. Vet gave antibiotics for 10 days plus pain meds washed out all wounds and closely monitor has we needed staples but declined due to the need to put him to sleep.
