We have been working with Michelle and she is an absolutely awesome trainer! We've had about 5 sessions with her and our puppy is doing great! We have learned many techniques for well-mannered walking, greeting people without big drama, drop it and leave it, etc. Michelle takes into account the owner's input when deciding what to teach for that day's lesson. Michelle is very positive and enthusiastic and makes the training fun for the dogs, too. I heartily recommend Michelle to anyone who wants a highly effective trainer! read more

Elroy, who is well aware of his adorability factor, is all-in for Woof Beach. A fun and dog-first setting, this is an uncrowded space that also offers training and daycare. Great, friendly and attentive team members. Elroy's very paw-roud of his fetching bandanna. His three siblings will be visiting soon! read more

This place is awesome !!! I can say we have experience with at least six different places over the years without the success we have had at Woofbeach. We saw other dogs that had gone through their program and gave it a try. I can say 100 percent worth it!!!! Taylir is amazing and knew exactly what we needed . Would never consider going anywhere else and highly recommend them. read more

My 11 year old Labardor mix, named Buff, can sometimes be aggressive. He is highly intelligent and tends to get bored easily. I thought that I had found a great spot for him in a nearby northwestern suburb but when I was told that he was too aggressive to return there, I knew I needed to start looking for a daycare/boarding spot that was capable of understanding Buff's unique needs as well as the fact that he was a rescue who was bred for water fowl retrieval, and kept in a cage outside for the first 12 months of his life--I needed a professional staff that was willing to work with him. Woof Beach Cove in Aurora, IL is just such a place. Buff loves going there for daycare and his handlers, Austin, Justin and Kylie really understand his needs and are very willing and capable of working with him. Buff comes home tired and happy after he has had the opportunity to run and play with other canines while under the supervision of these professional handlers. I've seen some of the negative reviews for Woof Beach and I would say that you should visit with them (along with your four-legged companion) and try them out for a day or two to see if they can meet your pet's needs--I have never seen any mistreatment or mishandling of the animals there and I have been bringing my dog twice weekly for the past 6 months for social interaction, training and behavior adjustment. My observation is that Woof Beach Aurora effectively uses praise along with boundaries and limitations to create a happy, healthy space for interactions and playtime. We love Woof Beach--they are the best in the area! read more

Adopted a mixed breed dog during Covid so his social skills needed work now that things are returning. Dog training has helped my guy control urges to guard and trust others. His commands will likely get better as he continues on in program. I am dying for him to have a richer life in the world we all share. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about Woofbeach and their trainers, especially Taylor. I can't believe how some people can be keyboard warriors behind a screen instead of working out any issue with a person directly. As a real person with a wonderful dog of my own, here is my experience with Woofbeach. I have ALWAYS been clearly explained how training would work at this facility when I first stepped in the door for my evaluation. Taylor reassured me how balance training works and the collars used. I saw immediate improvement after the first day. My dog Harley was such an awful puller on leash and needed some sharpening up on commands. Once he had a session with Taylor and the crew, my dog was actually listening. After our package my 85lb dog can be walked on a simple martingale collar. He can down stay around distractions such as other dogs, people, wild life, etc. I could not be happier with my decision to pursue training here. Now we are on to earn our CGC. read more

*NOTE* I wrote a review on their Google account as well. Since I wrote my review, the company is attempting to fix their SEO by making fake accounts post positive reviews. My fiancé and I were very excited to sign our 7-month old dachshund up for training at Woofbeach. Woofbeach was recommended to us, and it showed promising reviews. We had an initial evaluation with Taylor to discuss the training program and expectations. Based on the assessment, we would need to purchase one of their cots to help with training at home, and they would provide their treats for positive reinforcement training. Peter is the sweetest dog. He needed help with potty training and learning healthy boundaries with dogs. He has never undergone any training previously. He comes off shy but can warm up after some friendly petting. When Peter was dropped off, he was very nervous and kept trying to get away from the trainers. Once I noticed he was warming up, I left. A couple of hours later, I received a photo from one of the trainers showing me Peter learned a command. I immediately noticed the collar around his neck. I knew something wasn't right with this as it was never discussed they would be using training collars in sessions with him. Peter's eyes looked frightened too. I went straight to Woofbeach to understand what was going on. When I walked into the location, I saw Peter on one of the cots. Peter hunched his back like he was frightened. Typically, Peter would run straight to me when he saw me (separation anxiety). Instead, he sat frozen on the cot. The trainers took the collar off, and Peter still seemed hesitant. Once he saw me looking at him, he ran straight over. As a dog parent, seeing your dog child scared is the worst feeling in the world. My heart broke for him. Of course, the fear of the collar kept him still and not the training. A 7-month-old puppy with no prior training does not learn to stay within 1 hour. Taylor tried to explain the collar and claimed he spoke to me about it in the evaluation, which was highly false. We would have never signed up if we had known about the collar. It is Woofbeach's prerogative to use this type of training method, and it may work for some families. Still, Woofbeach should explain it to others as not everyone approves. He claimed they are "balanced" trainers and he stated to me before signing up, which is false again. Taylor explained the collar mimicking a dog mom nipping the baby pup's neck to correct behavior. If a dog has ever nipped anyone, it hurts. Based on what Taylor explained, Woofbeach uses pain to correct behavior instead of positive reinforcement. I decided to take my puppy home immediately. I share this story so future families can decide what is best for their fur children. If you support training collars and "balanced" training, Woofbeach is the place for you. However, do not come here if you are a family that does not condone pain within training and strictly wants positive reinforcement. If I had never received the photo of Peter scared with his collar, I might have never known what goes on because the staff never explained it before signing up. read more

*NOTE* It seems the company or a single employee "may" be using fake reviews to cover up their negative reviews. Especially one recently as of the date Jan-25-2022. Which is really disappointing if this is how business is conducted. Very fishy since they haven't had a new review in 6 months and just now new reviews are coming out? My fiancé and I have been looking for a place to provide our little 7/8 month old mini-dachshund formal dog training. At first this place seemed like a great place to bring our little pup considering we were told and "informed" on how they conduct their positive reinforcement training here. Sadly, we were disappointed, lied to, and misinformed because the training was quite the opposite and thank goodness we were able to stop the training right from the beginning before this could of caused any potential physical and/or emotional harm to our pup. We love our dogs to the very core, and to see our dog put into a position that may of already caused some emotional stress and/or damage broke our hearts. Ever since we brought him back home he seemed a little off and bothered. Taylor the "lead" dog trainer there informed us that the training would consist of positive reinforcement and treat rewards for conducting good behavior. But when my fiancé dropped in on them after receiving a concerning photo from another employee that works there ensured us he was happy and safe. But from the look of the photo--this was not the case. Instead he looked scared, concerned and almost as if he were stressed out from some sort of situation. If you seen the photo with him wearing the collar it was a spiked collar and it was never explained to us they would use internal spiked collars to inflict pain-training on our little puppy. (He's only 7 mo's and nowhere near aggressive). For one--if this is the type of training they use at Woofbeach then by all means go for it, but if this was explained to us at the beginning then we would of never of signed our little puppy up for this type of training. It's like a parent who approves of spanking vs a parent who doesn't--for some kids they may be okay later on in life but for some--this can leave an emotional scar. It's almost as if Taylor was trying to make a sale due to his late commentary of the business "is seeing a lack of new business". My fiancé went immediately to stop his training due to this breach of trust. When she arrived at the location our puppy seemed really scared and shaky, something that isn't common for our little pup to experience. As soon as Taylor took off the collar it was then that our little pup decided to move towards my fiancé. (Keep in mind this was only the first day--within two hours). Taylor went on to argue with my fiancé saying he did explain this type of training when in reality he never did because we don't condone this type of training. A dog cannot speak nor can they express themselves verbally like humans so of course they're not going to speak out in fear. He also tried telling us the only thing we needed to purchase was the cot that they used for training but then switched and stumbled on his words again saying we would need to purchase more than the cot--in this case a collar we definitely would of never have approved. Essentially WoofBeach broke the trust between my fiancé and I, and in no way would we ever put our dogs in that situation ever again. I should have followed my initial instincts and followed the red flags of leaving our dogs alone with other trainers and people we don't know. But WoofBeach tried to assure us their safety was their number one concern--this was not the case. So if anybody is reading this please take this into consideration before dropping your little fur kids off. If pain training is what you'd like to move towards to then by all means go for it, but for these two fur parents, we cannot and will never accept pain as a tactic of training. So far we are waiting to see what they will do to fulfill this refund. Business etiquette and professionalism is a big deal to us, and now we just wait. read more

I paid $2,800 for advanced off leash training, only to receive back a dog at the end of 2 months that still could not walk on a leash without pulling.   I was told by Woof Beach trainers to continue her training at home by keeping her in a pinch collar all hours of the day, giving her corrections.   I attempted to use the collar as instructed by trainers who I thought trustworthy. After 3 hours into my dog wearing this collar at home, she became lethargic, vomited, and had diarrhea the next morning.   This was not what I signed up for, and I in fact only enrolled in this program after a Woof Beach manager agreed with me at orientation my dog would not need to be trained in a pinch collar.   I was told by the district manager of all locations around the Chicagoland area that my dog becoming ill was normal. The extensive use of these collars was justified with lighthearted analogies, but the problem is these words don't align with best practices found anywhere.   After doing my own research, it is a quick google search on "the correct way to use a pinch collar", which trainers at Woof Beach call "Herm collars" after the manufacturing company, to learn that it is black and white how long dogs should be wearing these collars- which is no longer than a training session- between 15 minutes to an hour. Yet Woof Beach advises owners to keep dogs in these collars all day.   I have been reassured of my lifetime warranty and that my dog can be trained using other methods.   What this company doesn't seem to want to acknowledge is that I would NEVER have paid for this service if it weren't for being lied to by their employee from the start. I wouldn't knowingly give a penny to or associate with a dog training business that is so against best practices and cruel.   I was impressed at orientation seeing 20+ dogs sitting on beds without moving, thinking they must be working magic at this place. I was excited to train my dog with Woof Beach! I now know dogs at Woof Beach are being trained under endless hours of corrections and punishment, like circus animals.   These methods are beyond inappropriate. No other pet owners should be told their dog becoming sick is normal when it is these training methods that are not normal. And no pet should experience this unless with full transparency and understanding by owners. I was not given that opportunity as I was lied to from the start. And the solution of this company is that I continue training with them. No thank you. read more

We absolutely love the transformation in our dog, and we've been going there for a little under a year. Our dog also loves the trainers. Their method is wonderful, not at all negative as some reviews might suggest. It helps to understand the process before getting up-in-arms about it. It also helps to understand what actually works for a dog and not put human anthropomorphic traits on them. We can't say enough good things about Stephanie! We're currently back for some brush up lessons/day care to help our dog adjust to a new baby. We highly recommend Woof Beach to anyone! read more

Just completed the final segment of the agility class... the competition finals... and while my Weims (Moose and Cassie) are probably more suited for a telethon than the winners podium... I can say without reservation that Woof Beach Cove and all involved are the best thing that have happened for our rescues. Beyond the training, the professionalism and genuine affection and enthusiasm for all the dogs in their care puts them light years ahead of all the rest. If Cassie and Moose could text... they'd agree... but for now there is a squirrel in their crosshairs... Thanks to all... Slainte! read more

I've been coming to Woofbeach for a little less than a year and I have nothing but great things to say about everyone here. The staff is absolutely a pleasure to meet and work with. They're incredibly diligent, thorough, kind, and compassionate with every animal that comes in here. I've never entered the store and saw someone look unhappy in here. I've had the pleasure of working with Amber--who has consistently put in long hours and will squeeze me in last minute just so my pooch can get a haircut. She has gone above and beyond staying later than she was scheduled to squeeze us in and give us proper care. As a first time pet owner, she really makes sure that I'm happy with the details and the treatment of my dog and I couldn't ask for anyone better. She also makes my pup look like a model!!!! I love woofbeach. I will and do recommend it to everyone and anyone who asks me for recommendations or compliments my dog's haircut. Please do yourself a favor and come here. They're incredible. read more

We have used Woofbeach from the first day our puppy was old enough to attend and my wife and I cannot say enough positive things about the entire program. This is the first time we have used a program like this and were not disappointed. The mixture of on leash and off leash has taught our dog to be confident in who she is and obey commands. She has come back from daycare and additional lessons, our dog is always jumping with excitement when we let her out of the car. If you love your pet and want it to get the best training around, these trainers are for you. read more

I took my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Finn twice now to Woofbeach Cove for grooming. I live in the city and found them on yelp and they could fit me in with little notice while I was visiting family here in Glen Ellyn. Finn is happy as soon as he walks in. He's treated with snuggles and pets and they make him feel very comfortable. Even though he hasn't come for training I'd love to take him sometime as all the dogs there for training in the large room are all so well behaved when they do their place command- even when my excited dog walks in creating a change in the environment. I really love this place. The staff here are truly dedicated and redefine what it means to love dogs! All I have to say is my Maddie really needed some TLC grooming and Amber C. Did a great job. I live in Lombard and have been taking my baby to a groomer in Hinsdale for over a year. Reason is I tried several places and was not happy, sooooo I had to take that 25min drive every time my Maddie needed grooming to this place I found in hinsdale. Mind you I always took her and picked her up and this last time my husband picked her up. He said"I dont like the way that guy talked to Maddie, he yelled at her" mind you she is a Malshi and can be a nipper not biter and I guess that's what she did. Lol so I guess I need to find a new groomer. I was always meaning to find something closer to home but like I stated before the couple places I took her to in Glen Ellyn I did not like and one of the places cut my babies face without even telling me. I had to find out two days later when I felt the blood scab on her face. All in I recommend this place from the beginning they were so friendly and nice and knew she was in good hands. Thank you Amber C. Hope to actually meet you soon with all this COVID going on I wasn't able to actually go into the salon. She looked so cute can't wait until your able to put bows on her. read more

Let me start by saying that we absolutely love WoofBeach for training and grooming. Grooming: Prices are reasonable, our pup smelled and looked great and was very well taken care of. Training: When you walk in, the first thing you notice is that there are dogs sitting on cots in an open space. I was in shock, how do they get them to do that?! Their training is nothing short of magical. After doing tons of research and getting a glowing recommendation from a friend about WoofBeach in Geneva, we brought in our 5 month old puppy to the Glen Ellyn location. Cairo, our dog, was adopted at 12 weeks and we think he's a lab/pit mix. He was doing a lot of typical puppy things but the jumping on our 6 year old daughter and constant pulling of the leash while on walks were things we wanted to make sure were addressed right away. Cairo spent about 5 weeks going through training with Austin from Tuesday through Friday from 8-5pm. Early drop off and late pick up were available which made it very convenient. Once Austin felt like Cairo was fully trained at he scheduled time for us to come in so we could begin training with Cairo. After our very first training session with Austin the difference was amazing. That same evening we were able to take our puppy to dinner with us at a dog friendly restaurant. He sat in "place" the entire dinner! During our continued training sessions Austin has been committed to ensuring that we fully understand and are successful at executing the training. He's great at answering our questions and is helping us make the training second nature as we work with Cairo. It's very telling when you're puppy gets super excited when he sees that we are pulling in to WoofBeach and can't stop wagging his butt when he sees his trainer. Cairo is still the same fun loving puppy but with manners. We were able to go on walks through the neighborhood without pulling on the leash. Our daughter loves to play with our him now because he listens to her and understands the boundaries. My mom, who has mobility issues can come to our home with no concern that our puppy will knock her down. Later this month we plan on taking Cairo camping with us and will be teaching him how to go kayaking with us too. We are so grateful to WoofBeach for helping us have a dog that is a true companion. We are able to fully share our life with our him because we can trust that not only is it safe for him but it is also safe for others. We have many years to look forward to with Cairo and we can't wait for all of our adventures thanks to WoofBeach! read more

WoofBeach cove is AMAZING!!! They are so flexible and willing to work with you and your dog. The first part of training is a day care style training, so that really makes the cost reasonable if you are normally paying for day care. They are super flexible with drop off and pick up times, so you can make it work regardless of your schedule. And the training is incredible. I had a really hyper, strong willed puppy and it was hard for me to put in the work to get her trained and behaving, especially when we went over to peoples houses. As soon as she was done with training, the difference was amazing. She stays in place, walks like a dream, usually comes when called (we are still working on that in our weekly training sessions - she is very easily distracted but getting so much better). After the initial training, you set up weekly one on one sessions with the trainer so they can teach you the commands and go over any problem areas that you might be having with you dog. Even if it's not specifically covered in the initial training, they will help you with it. You can also bring in other people who deal with your dog and they will work with them as well, like other members of your household, etc. The people at woofbeach are TOTALLY commited to making you happy and making sure your dog is totally trained and ready for a happy life. It's an amazing place, I one thousand percent reccomend it. read more
