I cannot explain how happy I am that I found Four Paws. Dexter is a 1 1/2 year old shiba inu and he is anxious, high energy and didn't have much socialization because we are one doggy home. I wanted to find a daycare for one of my days off so I could clean my house without interruption. I didn't want to board him because I could keep him cages at home. I searched Yelp and came across Four Paws. I set up a temperament test and crossed my fingers that Dexter would pass. Danielle, the owner spent time talking to me about daycare and the other dogs currently enrolled. I came back 2 hours later and Danielle said he did great! I have been bringing him here for about 3-4 weeks at least once a week and he always is happy and worn out (a sleeping shiba is an angel) when he comes home. Today when I dropped him off, I was telling Danielle about his nails and how they needed to be cut (they are like talons) and how I have to drug him with trazedone when I take him to get them cut but I don't think sending him to daycare while medicated would be a good idea. She said she would check and see if she had an opening this Sunday with a groomer and let me know in a couple hours. A couple hours later, she called and said Groomer Jen came in and was able to cut his nails with no problems. No crying at all! I love this place and would recommend it to anyone! They always took such good care of him and gave us a peace of mind when we dropped him off. After he passed they reached out and sent a heartfelt card. I really can't say enough about how fabulous this place is ! My puppy LOVES to go here. Her tail is wagging from the moment we pull up. I enrolled her in their daycare & puppy school because she was really rambunctious, nipping & kept rough playing with her Sr. sister dog who is a lot smaller in size. We were at our wits end but absolutely in love with our new baby. After doing some research on local places & consulting the Rescue that we got our baby from we settled on Four Paws. My baby has been attending now for four months. In those four months they have shown to be very accommodating despite Covid restrictions. Professional & congenial by every staff member we have encountered. We alternate Daycare & school so she can get plenty of playtime but also some training to control some of her puppy impulses. She comes home totally chill. Is getting along famously with her sister & no more out of control behavior. When she goes to school she gets a daily report card on what they worked on & information on how to reinforce at home (homework ) I that. read more

I really didn't want to leave a bad review for this place due to one bad trainer, but at this point she really hasn't left us much choice. We chose to board our puppy with Four Paws last year. Before the boarding we noted he had a sensitive to the touch stomach due to an undecended testicle and to be careful with him, this was our first issue. Mid-boarding I received a picture of my dog in a tutu at one of their trainers houses because she thought it would be fun to play dress up with someone else's puppy. This meant a tight elasticised waistband on his stomach. I promptly texted that I was not okay with such things and that seemed to be the end of my issues. Until after boarding when the 'on call' via text stage started. We had a three month old puppy and despite saying we were only okay with positive training methods Amy just kept repeating that she would suggest an electric collar and a no pull collar. Finally we chose to let Amy go and let her know it was a mixture of these two issues and her attitude, she responded saying she never forced us to use force training methods, which while true, didn't address her lack of ability to help is as a trainer without them. As tax season is coming up and the board and train was for a service dog in training, we reached out to get our recipt since we hadn't been given one at the time. She ignored my text for over a week and when my husband tried to call, sent him an invoice for zero dollars. He tried to call back to get the correct thing only to have her yell at him that we aren't using her as a trainer anymore so it would be asinine for her to have helped us get to receipt before hanging up on my husband twice. I am frankly aghast at both the fact that a professionally trained trainer could not handle a puppy without force when every other trainer we have worked with has been against it with great result and also the fact that someone would be so unprofessional and petty over being let go due to not being a good fit. Thankfully we were able to find better trainers who valued our pup as much as us, but I can't in good conscious not share this after her outburst today. Update to address the comment: We actually spent a week attempting to get ahold of Amy which I have the text to prove. You did send the first form incorrectly and we called within fifteen minutes, waited three hours, which I also have call logs for, and then when the 'it will be right there, ten minutes tops' never showed up called back. Amy proceeded to swear at my husband and called us attempting to get ahold of her for a receipt asinine. After that she hung up on him mid-sentence so he had no choice but to call back because through all of this not once were we told anything but, 'leave me alone I'm busy, I'll get to it' with him being hung up on before he could even speak. She got volatile to the point I had to leave a voicemail letting her know our lawyer would just be reaching out because it had been over a week of run around for a tax document already. Also, I at no point said that he went for service dog training, but any training towards a service dog is deductible and as such was why I was requesting a receipt. Basic obedience is still a part of any service dog's training and falls very safely under tax laws as our accountant has assured us. If you would take the time to read the review I state only that because he is an SDIT was it tax related and what we were reaching out about it. I also truly wish Lydia hadn't put him in a tutu, but unfortunately there was no one overseeing a teenage girl taking our dog home overnight for boarding, which in and of itself was completely crazy for how much we had to pay as well as extremely unprofessional. As you insisted on trying to call me a liar, I have attached the picture sent from Lydia. If you would like to contact me privately I am more than happy to include the screenshot with her number as well. Overall, this response and attempt at being petty/snarky really just highlights the attitude that you'll run into working with this business unfortunately. As I stated, I could not be happier we went with our gut and let Amy go when we did. Look no further for all your doggy needs!!! From daycare to training to boarding, this is the best place around. Awesome staff, clean facilities and fair prices. I love that they do a 2hour temperament test for all dogs before they are admitted to the facility. This really put me at ease with having a new puppy there! Best part: my puppy Vinny LOVES daycare, loves the staff, is making lots of friends and comes home pooped!!!! We will have him at daycare once a week to keep up with his socialization and to give our resident cats a break (Vinny and the cats love to run and chase one another). There is a sign on the wall when you enter that says something like "The best thing to happen to your dog since you took them home". I couldn't agree more. Danielle and the staff are amazing and have taken such great care of our two pups. The dogs were actually boarded when the recent tornado hit and we were out of town the whole week. Since Four Paws was forced to close, Danielle took the dogs to her own home to look after them for the week and gave us daily updates as well. She was so happy and her normal self when I picked her up, as opposed to shakey , scared, and uncomfortable like she is after most places I have had her groomed at. We used Four Paws for our dog Charlie Murphy after trying many other places and trainers. Four Paws is the only place I would recommend for daycare/boarding/training, ever. Charlie had leash reactivity issues that Amy helped us with and he's a different dog since we started going here! She was available to answer questions after our sessions at no additional charge. She truly cares about him and making sure I have the proper guidance to carry on training at home. We've used the daycare and boarding here too and the whole staff is so amazing. The facility is clean and set up more like a home rather than a typical boarding place that looks like a prison. Other places we've brought him he was overwhelmed and stressed. Charlie is so happy walking in there and when he comes home he's so relaxed. We'll without question continue going to Four Paws and recommending to our friends! read more

Took my puppy for a last minute haircut and they did an awesome job and I highly recommend Jen and they all treat your dog like their own. I found them as my regular groomer had surgery and my pup needed a haircut they took him on such short notice and we love it. read more

The employees at Four Paws are wonderful! My senior pups ( 8 &9 years old ) go twice a week and definitely get excited when I tell them they are going to school! While me and my dog were there we got great information on how I can work to train her before classes start. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Last week was our first week there with our newly adopted GSD. He is approx. 1 year old and very timid. We did the free trial half day for 4 hours. When my boyfriend picked up our dog, Amy- the owner told him that Axel was timid, shy, but did okay. When I called to speak to Amy she responded, "yeah he growled at me and my staff." My question to myself.. "why was this information not given to my boyfriend during pick up." Yesterday, I decided to do another half day for Axel, which was recommended by Amy. He was there for 4 hours and I picked up him around 6pm. Again, Amy was there (the owner) and she was completely rude to me. She brought me back to where Axel was and opened the door and said.... "yeah he tried biting my staff...go get your dog." I then tried asking what happened but all Amy could say was "he is not allowed to come back here." She was very loud about Axel "trying" to bite someone and completely embarrassed me in front of another dog owner where she wouldn't even stand next to us. Before I left I attempted again to ask Amy what happened and tried to get recommendations for Axel but you can tell she wanted no part of us anymore. I called this morning and spoke to Christine who was a sweetheart and told me what happened. Axel DID NOT bite anyone but he showed teeth and cornered himself in their holding area. WHY would you put an already timid dog in a SMALL holding area. Four Paws NEVER called me yesterday to tell me he tried biting someone....if he was THAT BAD then you would think they would call the owners to pick up the dog?? Christine ended up giving me suggestions to help build Axel's confidence and that was all I was asking Amy last night. You think the owner of the place would be more willing to provide suggestions for a timid dog. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO FOUR PAWS. AMY PROVIDES TERRIBLE SERVICE AND DOES NOT WORK WITH TIMID DOGS. I had reached out to Four Paws a year or so ago for a consult, and since my dog wasn't neutered, I couldn't bring him there. He was neutered earlier this year, so brought my Frenchie in for a trial "temperament test". The employee on duty said he was a bit hyper though did fine. I needed to drop him for a full day, when I picked him up in the evening, the owner seemed real perturbed by his behavior and said that he wasn't a good fit for day care. That all said, he wasn't welcomed back after only one day there. He supposedly bit two employees and the owner said an employee "put their foot out in his face so he wouldn't go through the gate, then bit her but didn't draw blood". First off, why are you putting your foot in his face? Point here, if your dog isn't perfect don't bother bringing him here. When you are a doggy day care watching that many animals lots of problems are bound to arise. I wish I hadn't wasted my time bringing him here, despite some positive reviews. Update, my Frenchie has a dog walker now who says he's great and doesn't see this aggressive dog the owner here has stated. read more

Brought our new 2 year old lab border collie here for some training. Was told on the phone there were two options one being a public class with many people and one being a private class with a one on one with a trainer which turned out to be the owner Amy. I elected for the one on one and it turned out to be a great decision. While our dog came from Animal Rescue and know not much about him, he is a very tame dog however we do have a five-month-old at home so I was looking for some extra training. With just one lesson we had a great walk tonight. I actually for the first time didn't feel like I was going to be pulled into the ground. While we have some work to do this is a great start. I read some of the one-star reviews from this business and all is I can think is you're never going to make everyone happy. My personal experience was great and I will recommend to all my friends.
