I am beyond upset with this location currently. I hate to say this because this is where I do all of my shopping, for my parakeets and for my puppy. I bought a parakeet from this location about 7 days ago. I took it home and kept it in a separate cage so there wouldn't be conflict between the new budgie and my older ones. That budgie that I bought did not make it through the night. Luckily I was off the next day so l was able to take it back to the store, and as ugly as this sounds, l exchanged it. The new budgie I exchanged it for only lasted me like 5-6 days. I got home from work today and noticed that the new budgies behavior was very off. It used to jump and play around normally and today I found it at the top of the cage in a corner floofed up. It eventually jumped down to the bottom of the cage and it stood there for about an hour hardly able to stand on its own. I tried giving the store a call before they closed but they decided to let the phone ring and eventually they hung up my call at 8:57 pm. Now I'm just hoping to get my money back, I'm not risking exchanging it for another budgie. There could possibly be a disease going around and they're just selling the poor birds. read more

Poor experience at this location. I had scheduled a bath for my German Shepherd and I dropped him off with a service addition of a furminator package. Thirty minutes later when I was at home I received a voice message stating the groomer could not handle my dog and I was to come back and pick him up. I was also told I would have to reschedule. Unacceptable! I called the specific individual back and informed her this was wrong and absolutely unacceptable. She continued to tell me she was too small and couldn't bathe Humphrey. I requested to speak with a manager at that time. Assistant manager Erica spoke with me and I updated her with what I was told. Erika then spoke with the groomer and assured me they would both try to bathe Humphrey again. Erica was very nice and professional, and they ultimately ended up bathing Humphrey. Humphrey is very skittish around dryers and so he needs to air dry. Therefore, he was still a little wet when picking him up. No biggie, but I feel like being damp prevents a great furminator experience. I actually own a furminator, so I know how all this works. Considering I was paying $63 I would have expected a very smooth coated dog. He seems like all he had done was the furminator shampoo. Ultimately, he was bathed. Yet, I will never understand how a little girl would be assigned to bathe a large German Shepherd. My dog is very sweet, not to mention he is a geriatric 11 year old and so he has a great temperament. I'm just dissapointed in the overall experience. And Humphrey just seems sad now so who knows what ultimately went on behind those doors. read more

Do not buy fish from here! The koi are diseased. We bought 4 koi a few weeks ago. 3/4 of them died. The koi are diseased with a bacterial infection. PetSmart knows this and still has these koi on display to sell! We have an outdoor pond full of koi and goldfish from various stores, but we have only had problems with the koi purchased at PetSmart. I called PetSmart to inquire about a refund, and the woman on the phone said, "There are no problems with our koi fish. Have you tested your pond water?" Our pond water has been tested 3 times and passed with flying colors, every single time. Look at these photos of the koi. Does it seem like there are "no problems" with these fish? I booked my appointment to have my dog groomed, and later received a call from Nora claiming that due to a system error, she would like me to bring my dog in almost two hours before the appointment. Nora said she normally does not groom pets past 11:30 on Sundays, but said If I could move my schedule around she would prefer I bring my dog in now. I was unable to bring my dog in due to prior engagements; I felt as if she was trying to leave early and was trying to have me cancel my appointment. Only after I said I will go to another location and to cancel my appointment, did she offer to do the service. This is the second time I have been unimpressed with the grooming department at Countryside. I will not be booking appointments in the future for grooming at this location. read more

This Petsmart is very organized, clean, and professional. I'm a shopper and take my Australian Labradoodle for grooming. Mallory, a new supervisor, took care of the grooming yesterday and did a fantastic job. I have been taking my dog there every 2-3 months, for 2 years and will continue. The turn over of employees is common in these stores as I do feel the pay is not great and therefore the experience is used as a stepping stone. That part is frustrating because we all know it's hard to find a groomer that cares, shows it, and does a great job grooming our amazing pups. However, they do have good guidelines, good service, good communication, and a loving approach with the dogs. read more

My dog is a senior and has never had any issues being groomed.. there were lines of uncut fur and I paid extra for the nail grind which was not done, asked groomer why and was greeted with an attitude and a " we are very busy".. asked for a manager.. i was told the manager was not available. The other staff were grooming and looking over at their phones. Dont seem to care much about the animals. Also saw a larger dog fall off a grooming table. I booked my two dogs to get groomed, together/at the same time, over a week ago. I was told 1 girl would be doing one dog & another girl my other. I showed up & the same girl was down to do both dogs. When she asked one of the girls to do one of my dog she blatantly state in front my of how she already has someone's dog sitting in the back for 2 hours, that she has yet to start. I was then told not only was one groomer doing both my dogs when I asked for two, but also she needed to take her lunch. Everything about this establishment is beyond unprofessional, if only all their customers knew these women leave their dogs in cages for 2 hours before they even start the grooming process. Not to mention last time I was here my one dog was groomed by Judy, who was so rude & ignorant. My loving & super friendly dog walked out extremely skittish & scared of this women. I had been a regular customer to the Petsmart in Countryside, until my experience with the pet grooming dept. I made an appointment for Tuesday at 11:30AM with Nora. I brought my dog and decided to have him weighed first at the clinic next door. During this time a woman with two poodles walked in ahead of me to the grooming dept. The grooming dept. immediately directed the woman and poodles and my pet and I to wait outside on the benches. After a time Nora came out and accepted the two poodles through to grooming and told me she would just be a minute. After more than 10 minutes waiting Nora escorted Lucky and me inside the grooming dept. She took a look around my pet and said she couldn't service my dog because he showed evidence of spitting up. That's on of the reasons I needed him washed and groomed. She said she'd seen it many times and the dog would continue to spit up during the process. She doesn't know my pet and the excuse seemed lame. I suspect they had overbooked Nora with the two poodles and even though I had an 11:30 appointment, Nora chose to service the two poodles and reject my pet her services. I talked to the manager who backed up his groomer and said my pets health was the main concern. That's an outright lie. They double booked one client that came with two dogs and bumped my pet to service both poodles. No one in their grooming dept is qualified to know the health of my dog better than me the owner. In truth my dog has a habbit of spitting up and did so once prior to the grooming dept. so there should have been no further problem with my pet to get the service he really need it. I've been taking regular care medically of my dog but they chose to make a judgement on his condition that outweighed my experience and the needs of my pet. They overbooked appointments and refused to admit it and used my dogs perpetual condition as an excuse not to groom him. There are other groomer that accepted the same conditions that Petsmart's Countryside Groomers refused to service in my pets best interest. I will find other sources for my pet's special food requirements and supplies in the future. read more

Honestly I am sick and tired of banfield pet hospital . There is no way my dog has to be there for 8 hours every time he comes to the vet . For what reason should he be there for that long as simple as a yearly exam he should not stay there for 5 hours . Don't just take him do some work then put him to the side and forget to call or let me know if he's ready! All of the previous comments I've made still apply, but I'm lowering my rating of the store due to their grooming department. I started taking my pup there for their Pawdicure service (nail trim, ear clean, teeth brush and spray down). This costs $27. We only had one truly great experience there where I could see the worker lovingly taking care of my dog and spending a lot of time with her. The straw that broke the camel's back was the last experience. I dropped her off for this same service, and then went to get some dog food. I didn't even have time to finish paying for the food before they were calling for me to come pick her up. $27 for 5 minutes of dog pampering?? This was clearly a rush job. I didn't appreciate it, and only be a shopper at this location from now on. read more

After adopting a new 4-legged friend into our family, we needed to research training classes. After looking around different places around the city, we ended up selecting Petsmart, but were still undecided at which location. While I was picking up a few new toys and dog food for my Star, she a German Shepard, I caught a glimpse of a class that was starting. I stuck around and loved how the instructor was conducting the class. I was comfortable with Pam's teaching methods and loved the way she interacted with my pet. So far we've gone through 3 sessions (puppy, beginner, and intermediate) and going to be doing the advance session soon. I must also add that I do not live by this particular location, I've made a very special effort to bring my pets here for training and salon services (nail trims/pawdicure only since they have smooth coats and are bathed at home). I would recommend pet training classes with Pam. read more

Simply put, my dogs would not be the (mostly) well-behaved dogs they are today if it were not for having gone through levels 1 and 2 of obedience training with Pam at PetSmart. She is truly wonderful, loving, kind but firm to both people and dogs. I appreciate everything she did for Pixel and Fedora. Aside from training, I've found this store to be lovely. It's well-cleaned, well-stocked and the employees are super-friendly to both human and canine guests. And despite it being a huge chain, the prices are pretty fair and things go on sale regularly. Last week's toy sale was awesome. We stocked up on Fedora's favorite sparkly squeaky fish. Good job, PetSmart. You really make our dogs feel welcome. And that makes us feel welcome. read more

Class review: I enjoy going to Petsmart because they've got a knowledgeable and caring staff. My puppy, Penny, loves going and meeting all of the people and dogs. In fact, we joke that they all know who Penny is and I'd bet that they don't know me by name. ;) Cute. She's always greeted kindly by staff and even shoppers there. (It's nice to be amongst friends. At least we aren't the only ones obsessed with dogs!) We took the puppy class and it was a great experience for Penny to be socialized and for both of us to learn a lot. She learned great basic commands like sit and stay and how to greet. Pam and Kaylee are great. Passionate and informative. They let us do a Q&A after class and try their best to help with any questions or problems after class. I shouldn't complain about her being so well-behaved but sometimes in class it felt like she didn't get as much one-on-one attention because she didn't have any behavioral issues. Sounds silly, but sometimes I wished I had the trainers' attention a bit more but I really do understand how busy they are. One other thing... She often got distracted in the store - so it was not convenient to have the other classes going on while we were trying to wrangle our puppies, too. All in all I will likely sign Penny up for intermediate classes there but mom needs a couple weeks off... ;) read more

We brought our 6 year old rescued Boston Terrier here for the 8 week Beginning Training with Pam. Pam is funny, honest, kind and firm. She tells it like it is. Our dog was the oldest in the class (the rest were under 2 years old) and has behavior issues, but we saw marked improvement and learned some coping skills. We and our dog all benefited from her experience and advice. At the end of the course, we had a graduation ceremony, complete with tiny graduation hats, certificates and photos. When our budget allows, I'd like to continue training. The staff here is helpful and friendly. I really like the sale rack of dog apparel. I know, it's silly to dress up our dog, but it's too cute and fun to resist. I think the only thing I would improve is cleaner floors, since our dog seems to find every old or new accident in the store when we shop. If our dog has an accident, I clean it up right away with the supplies from the "Oops!" stations. I know it's hard to keep a huge store constantly clean with so many pets coming through, but it would improve our visits. Oh, and I want more coupons, please! We spend a lot of money here, and I'd like to have more rewards for our loyalty. read more

She was shaking when she left and the guy who brought her out was rude and careless about her. For the most part this Pet Smart is good. Prices are reasonable, they are always well-stocked, cashiers are friendly, and MOST importantly the pets up for adoption appear to be well taken care of. I would have given this place 5 stars except the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting!! The floors are filthy, they never have paper towels and T-paper every time I'm here in. It also smells pretty bad. It's smells like it looks. I've seen better porta potties in much better shape. I'll wear a diaper next time I'm in hear just to avoid using this oversized litter box. read more

The management and staff at this store are SO helpful! They will help look for items if they've run out of sale items on the shelf. If they're out of stock on products, if you let them order it for you, they'll do free shipping to your home, too. One note: if your pet isn't a dog, leave it at home, unless you're taking it to the vet or getting it groomed. I started going to this Petsmart because the first groomer who groomed my puppy was really good. She ended up leaving but they kept her name on the schedule. However, I eventually found another a groomer who did a great job with my puppy who has since grown in to an adult. However, today was the first time ever that I was charged an additional fee because she was difficult to groom. I am very confused as to how she is difficult to groom when she has been coming regularly and is fine with being groomed. Nonetheless, I will be shopping for a new place to get her groomed. My bichons have been groomed here by Judy for the past seven years. I love her careful work, as bichon cuts are difficult. I have paid double the amount for less desirable work by staff who criticized me publicly for not bringing them in more often. Grooming bichons is labor intensive, time consuming , and expensive. Whenever I call for an appointment, I get the day and time I request, and whoever answers knows my dogs name as soon as I give my name. read more

Went to groomer. My precious Yorkie got an ear infection or was dropped. They paid for meds for the ear, which never cleared. Fast forward two weeks...my baby girl had to be put to sleep. How do you go from taking your healthy pet to the groomer then picking her up and she's non responsive and can't walk...to death?...actually I give the grooming dept zero stars. read more

I came to this location today on my way home from that area to pick up some dog food. They didn't have the large size bag which I usually get because I have 2 dogs and don't want to be making constant trips for food. The management was EXTREMELY helpful with accommodating me. We did smaller bags to match the weight of the large bag, for the large bag price. I wish I lived in this area to always go to this location. It was the nicest petsmart I have ever been to. Pam is amazing! We attended her small dog beginner class and, thanks to her, my crazy, playful pup actually listens to my commands. Several times, my little dog, Sandy, has run out the front door and dangerously close to traffic. Thanks to Pam, when I command her to "come" she actually chooses to do so, rather than to run willy nilly as she most likes, into the street. It gives me great security to know that in dangerous situations, Sandy will now listen. I give my thanks to Pam. Sandy has also learned to drop things from her mouth that are potentially harmful and to actually leave things on the ground when she would rather eat them, most of the time. Training takes time but Pam's approach works. She can walk gracefully at my side if I command her to. She sits and is getting pretty good at taking the down position without sitting first. Sandy is learning to stay and I am sure Pam has many other useful things to teach her and years of dog training stories to go with the lessons to make the classes funny and enjoyable for pets and owners alike.. Pam knows so much about animal behavior , including dogs with serious issues. She truly loves the animals and also has a great rapport with the owners. It's not unusual for former students to peek into a class. Pam remembers both the owners and the pets. I highly recommend Pam at Petsmart-Countryside. read more

Honestly speaking the only stopped in here because I was nearby and needed some dog food, but I am glad I did. The layout of this store is pretty much like all the others, but it was also very clean and bright. And the staff was very helpful and friendly. Everything is clearly labeled, so much so that I found where the dog food was located as well as the brand I was looking for with ease. I was able to get in and out and still make it to my next appointment on time. You can't beat that. This location is pretty far from me but if I found myself in the area again and in need of pet supplies I would definitely stop here. read more

Nice location, went in to buy a dog crate, who knew the selection would be so vast! They had 5 different brands in the size I needed. I happened to be crippled by this level of choice so naturally I spent the next 10 minutes standing in front of them googling which one of these particular crates would be the best. Spoiler alert: I went with the cheapest. Despite all the dogs walking around the store (with their owners, not in a random gang of dogs fashion) the place was spotless.
