Nice location, went in to buy a dog crate, who knew the selection would be so vast! They had 5 different brands in the size I needed. I happened to be crippled by this level of choice so naturally I spent the next 10 minutes standing in front of them googling which one of these particular crates would be the best. Spoiler alert: I went with the cheapest. Despite all the dogs walking around the store (with their owners, not in a random gang of dogs fashion) the place was spotless. No difference from any other Petsmart but the staff is friendlier and its way cleaner here. Very big fish tanks and I noticed the guinea pigs are cheaper here. The vet clinic here seems more part of the store and their staff really convinced me to get pet insurance with them..overall good. read more

Lisa in the grooming department did outstanding work on our 8 year old beagle and 8 year old puggle this past Sunday afternoon. She gave them the works and they went from looking and smelling like two worn out old dogs to bouncy brand new puppies with her handiwork. She gave them the works and did an excellent job. All of the staff were extremely friendly and great with all the pets. I watched them carefully groom everything from a tiny puppy to a wolfhound and every kind of dog in between. They are very cautious and meticulous. Incredible work and incredible value! read more

Very nice location. I specifically went there to pick up a few items for an upcoming fishtank that is being put together. The selection is like any other store you would visit but what specifically stood out was the cleanliness of their fish tanks. They were well maintained and kept much like the Bolingbrook location if you had been there. Overall, the experience of the customer service combined with the selection was what most would expect out of ever Petsmart location. read more

I've always taken my dog to petsmart at Countryside since he was a puppy. We've taken training classes with Pam. She is amazing. They have great vets. We've been lucky so far to have had excellent groomers. The only downside is that it could take up to 4 hours to complete the service which makes you feel nervous not knowing if everything is okay. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HERE!!! My dog got an ear infection after being groomed here. It wasn't until after the grooming that I was informed the groomers don't put cotton balls or anything to prevent water from getting into their ears (that's literally the most basic safety precaution to take when bathing a dog!! If I'm paying $70 for grooming, I should be able to trust that something that simple would be taken care of) Petsmart did give me a refund on the grooming and pay for the medication to treat the infection. 1 week later however, my dog is showing significant neurological changes. She's unable to walk or stand without falling over. The medication the vet at Banfield prescribed very likely caused my dog to develop an inner ear infection (not Banfield's fault!). Since the Petsmart grooming department took responsibility for the initial ear infection I think it'd be fair to assume that they would also cover the treatment of the progression of the infection and subsequent medication. When I requested reimbursement for the inner ear infection antibiotic they no longer took responsibility for my dog getting the infection in the first place and the manager claimed they paid for the 1st antibiotic "to be nice". I found it interesting that when I was waiting to speak with a manager, a costumer came in to pick up her dog and one of the groomers came out of the kennel area, handed the woman a dog, and the woman herself had to inform them that they'd given her the wrong dog!! Seriously. I've spent over $300 in vet bills following this grooming appointment, and it's still unknown whether any permanent damage was done to my dogs ear drum/vestibular health. read more

2nd time visiting this location and second time I have a bad experience. First when I took my puppy to get a hair cut I saw an older lady kept screaming at the animals. And today there was a lady literally following me in the store. She stood behind me while I looked at toys to buy for my puppy. And followed me to every isle. Never going back to this location. There were more customers in the store to follow but she just followed me. read more

Had a scheduled appointment at 1:30pm at 4:20 I had to walk in an ask what was taking the appointment so long!?! My dog was still wasn't ready. I understand that it could be quite busy especially in Countryside but 2+ hours?!?!? My dog was afraid of the dryer and may take extra time, understandable. But you have absolutely got to be kidding me! The appointment taker could have called and said, "Hey, your dog isn't doing too well, he's afraid of the dryer it may take extra time but I assure you he's in good hands." P.S. Last time he was there, I was told he was afraid of the nail grinder which was a little surprising to me because he's been there numerous time without incident. Come to find out, the woman grinding his nails cut him first and of course my dog will be scared. Even with that incident, I understand that accidents happen so I gave it another try. Never again! I have been taking my 3 dogs for grooming here for about a year now. I have never had an issue and the staff has always been great. The last time I took my Newfie I was not informed that he would be with a new groomer since his usual groomer left. He was there for about 5 hours and when I picked him up he was shaved down as I requested except his front legs and an awkward, uneven line around his neck. I couldn't understand why the groomer just trimmed his front legs instead of shaving them and why the back of his head and neck were so uneven. He looked ridiculous! The groomer had left by the time I arrived so there was nothing that could be done. I had to bring him back the next day to have someone else fix his legs. He was there for another 2 hours. Granted that the second time around he looked much better. I still left disappointed that I has to take him two days in a row. I must say I'm not taking my dogs back there anymore. read more

We've known her for 13 years and she helped us through our Chow many moons ago and now were seeing her again with our Bernese puppy and our 7 year old son. He needs to be able to handle the dog as she'll be a very big girl and I trust Pam implicitly with not only the dog but to help guide our son. read more

This is the perfect place for those who want a large lawsuit or have a good lawyer like I do. While the store is o.k. you may encounter several large and somewhat vicious dogs to contend with. I can't believe they let these dogs and owners put the business in such a bad position. Today I recorded the cashier telling me there is nothing that can be done about the growling, snarling pit bull near the front door.And one of the dogs charging me to the point the store manager was offering to help hold the dog.Then a young girl came in talking on her phone to come face to face with Cujo. She dropped her phone and ran out of the store. I plan on making more video's so when (and not if) I am attacked I have amazing evidence. Chicago winters are long and cold so after the settlement from my lawsuit I am headed permanently for a beach. lol read more

I'm new to the area, was very reluctant to take my puppy to a strange new place. Based on the reviews, I took her there to get a nail trim. They were very busy, got me in quickly & was willing to talk with my Vet out of state on the phone to verify her vaccinations were up to date so she didn't have to be muzzled during the nail trim. The girls were friendly & I felt comfortable leaving my puppy with them while I shopped. They did an AWESOME job, took 10-15 minutes, they did better then my vet. Definitely pay a few more bucks for the nail buff. read more

Go down the street to Petco! This store's success has absolutely nothing to do with its customer service. The staff is rude and very unhappy to be there. I went once and the groomer's door was locked early and they were very upset that we knew how to read and the closing hour had yet to arrive so they did have to talk to us. I told the manager on duty about this and her statement was simply, "I'll talk to them but there's really nothing I can do". I'm a manager in retail myself, been in the business 10+ years, the sentence "I'm sorry" goes a long way to even pretend to look like you give a crap. I went back thinking perhaps it was a fluke, even though I'm not even sure when the last time I saw an employee in even a passably pleasant mood. RENEE was very bothered that she had to handle our return. I explained with a smile that I had done the best I could looking at the receipts we had been emailed but since the UPC number on the receipt does not actually match the UPC number on the item sold I had some difficulty, she responded with nothing but a dead pan stare. She slammed/dropped everything that was in her hand, she showed no ounce of a soul when I mentioned that this food was being returned because I our dog had DIED when I made an attempt to warm her frosty and bitter demeanor. I have never been in a store and been so upset as to feel the need to complain on yelp but this abhorrent attempt at dealing with the public can not even be considered customer service. I will not return to this store unless it is to tell the General Manager what I think of the crack staff she/he has put together. read more
