I cannot say enough good things about Carson from Off Leash K9 Training's board and train program. Villa is a fast growing, energetic and excited 6 month old Bernese Mountain Dog puppy -and she can be a lot to handle. Carson handled her with ease, or at least made it look easy! Carson focuses on positive, effective techniques and took the time to educate us just as much as he trained our puppy. She absolutely loved him and the progress made in only 2 short weeks was incredible and we are so pleased. She learned 7 different commands and I continue to be amazed at how she responsds to each of them. It has been a huge help in getting her to settle and she has much better impulse control. We recently went out of town to visit family, and brought Villa with. I was a little nervous, wondering how she would do in a different environment, not on her home turf. I am so happy to share that she did fantastic! Our family could not stop complimenting her in how well mannered and behaved she was. If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid for the two‑week board‑and‑train program that advertised "100% obedience" and required a significant financial investment. Instead, my dog came home less trained and with worse behaviors than before. The same day he returned home, he began chewing the carpet and showing new, undesirable behaviors. When we tried to use the methods and tools they gave us, including the e‑collar, he was terrified, and he bit us. He is now clearly fearful of the e‑collar, and he has also started to resource guard me, even biting someone who came near me--behaviors he never showed before attending this program. In my view, they appeared to rely on fear and intimidation rather than humane training, leaving me with a frightened dog who bites and no meaningful obedience training to show for it. When I contacted the trainer about these serious concerns, I was only offered "retraining," which does not address the fact that my dog was not successfully trained in the first place and actually came back worse. read more

My trainer Alexis was amazing! He helped me manage my dog Oso's anxiety and aggressive behaviors, in a disciplined and controlled manner!! I was pretty nervous to discipline my dog at first, but my trainer helped me manage my emotions through the sessions, and helped me when I had questions outside of the sessions! The communication was very open and I never felt any confusion throughout the course! For only 8 sessions, my dogs behavior has improved amazingly. I no longer feel frustrated after walks, and I can now spend more time with my dog outdoors I highly recommend working with Alexis!!! read more

Absolutely awful. I signed up for the 8-week reactivity/aggression program as my dog has had leash reactivity issues around other dogs. The previous training I'd done with her was all positive reinforcement based, so I was looking to get lessons on how to effectively use negative reinforcement to address bad behavior. After seeing all the positive reviews and endorsements online for K9 off leash, I decided to give their business a shot. The trainer spent about 20 minutes trying to get my dog to do a sit and stay, while just zapping her with the e-collar every 5-10 seconds. She can do sit and stay usually just fine with me, which I told the trainer ahead of time, but he seemed pretty uninterested with her previous training. He basically just triggered the collar over and over again expecting a verbal 'sit' command to have the same meaning as both 'sit' and 'stay'. My dog's 'sit' was fine, but most of the time she got up sooner than what he wanted. He kept on repeating 'sit' verbally over and over, which I'm pretty sure is exactly the wrong thing to do but what do I know. My dog, visibly wincing at the e-collar trigger, just got more and more confused, jumping on him and pulling at her leash. I myself was confused by what his 'algorithm' was for training the dog was, so I can only imagine how my dog felt. The trainer, realizing it wasn't going well, said the problem was that "she slept in the same bed as me". "Heavy Eyeroll" - Those theories about dominance training have been debunked multiple times over the years. You're just not very good at your job dude. I ended the session early and asked for a refund. I regret not ending it sooner. My dog became extremely lethargic and depressed for the next 48 hours. I basically had to force her to go on walks, and she didn't do her business for almost 24 hours following the 'training' session. It didn't take me long to realize my dog had suffered a traumatic event. I got my refund, but I'm still incensed over the trauma given to my dog. I can only imagine what other dogs have experienced. I contacted them to express my outrage, but no response. They don't care. I guess they think the ends always justify the means. read more

Alexia is awesome! No joke, she makes every bit of the training process amazing. Had our 1 year old Great Dane go through training when he was about 6 months at a different place, and it just didn't stick. After being frustrated, started looking and came across Alexia's videos on YouTube. The before and after videos blew me away, so called her up. Alexia took the time to listen to all the issues we were having with Sam, which was great! Decided to set up training with her a month and a half later. Alexia was very detailed and personal about what Sam would be doing during training. She also kept us updated during the training process. Today July 1st we met with Alexia for the handoff and full instructions on commands with Sam. We spent almost an hour going over every detail and questions. We were just blown away how calm sam was. He followed the commands on point. He is more confident and we are more confident in handling him. Alexia is guaranteed for life, which you never see that anywhere! She is open to calls and text messages for any questions we have, so she is very accessible. We couldn't be more happy with the training Sam received. I am super impressed with the work Alexia did with my Australian Shepherd. I purchased the 4 session package, and did not think it would be enough to get my pup to listen, but even after the first lesson I saw a change. My dog would run away when outside off the leash and it would take hours to catch her. Now, with the ecollar, I can go outside with her and she stays right by my side. Alexia was very professional, informative, and personable which helped with the training sessions as well. I am so grateful I spent the money on this as it has improved the time my family and get to spend with our dog. read more
