Sue came to our home to assess our one-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd and instructed us on how to work with our dog. She believes that as long as we follow her directions, our Shepherd does not need to sign up for more classes. It's been a month since Sue visited us, and Rex has made significant progress. I sincerely appreciate Sue's expertise and professionalism.

This is a long over due review for Sue and Perfect Manners Dog Training. we brought Wynni home in early January of 2022, While she is a sweetie, she was also a Australian Cattle Dog mix that inherited 100% of ACD energy. We went through a month of puppy training but it didn't seem to help us getting her to behave as she should be during our walks and around the family. After some research online, I decide to call Perfect Manner to help us out. Sue came to our home and worked with us for an hour and got us on track. Her method was direct and simple. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow and we saw some improvements right away. Since then, we've followed her method when training Wynni and things have progressed nicely. Wynni is now 2 and is doing great (she does get a little sassy but we love it when she does). We want to thank Sue and recommend anyone to reach out to Perfect Manner Dog Training if they need help with training their dog.

Years went by, I got married, changed jobs, moved a few times, ended up with a dog and living not too far from said former co-worker/friend. We wanted to do some training with our new adopted addition, because while he is very well behaved in general, I wanted to know how *I* could best relate to him and reinforce the good behavior while discouraging the bad. Turns out Bonnie trains with Narnia. That's not the only reason I chose it -- they're highly regarded, as you can see -- but it helped. They also have classes close to home and for a reasonable price. Now, our dog -- Link, the Linkasaurus -- turned out to be an anxious, stressed-out little guy. He's great at home and with one or two other dogs, but he didn't do very well in the two group sessions we went to. I would still recommend them to most people -- Kim and Bobbie were super-sweet and did not make me feel bad at all. But we decided it was best to use the rest of our class credit toward some individual sessions. Bonnie came back into the picture at this point, bravely volunteering her time (ok, not really -- she gets paid by Narnia) to help us with our furball. And she is just awesome. In our first 45 minute session, we got tons of tips from her and a few more things to work on with Mr Link as homework. He was way calmer at home, able to focus more, and she praised him for his excessive cuteness. In short, Bonnie and everyone at Narnia are excellent, patient, kind dog people who would love to help you and your pup with anything you might need. Rock on, and woof woof.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.

They did a great job, my dog is napping on the floor now, so this is beneficial to the dog's health and any peace and quiet you might need at home! They also sent him home with a report on how he behaved. We've only had him a week, so it was so helpful to hear how he interacted with other people and dogs without us around. We were told it would take 3-4 hours for them. I made an appointment that morning, and I didn't understand how grooming could possibly take that long. At first I looked forward to the time I'd have to run errands. But I'm a woman who enjoys hair and make-up, but even a day at the salon doesn't take that long! When I arrived to pick him up, I realized that there's a "holding" area for the dogs. I don't like the idea of my dog having sat in a cage, waiting to be groomed. I'd understand it if I were a walk-in that there would be a wait. For the $25 price, it's totally worth it. And my dog seems totally fine, even if he did have to wait in a cage for a little while. The employees were all really nice to my dog too. Maybe that's why I've been so turned off by the customer service - people work at Petsmart because they like PETS and aren't people persons? I will definitely go back. I just don't recommend expecting people to be readily available if you are looking to purchase new items for your dog and are completely clueless, like I was.

I was told by manager Amy Gunderman that I had to make the return back at the original purchase store....odd. I have returned exchange-purchased items at different locations in the past, as a matter of fact, within the last 2 weeks, so why would no other store not have this issue or problem... oh, got poor customer service. They can't even uphold their own corporate policy. I won't be visiting this Location ever again.

When we returned to our normal work schedules we would leave her home for 6-7 hours a day. She seemed to be great in her crate or in the kitchen during the day but after a few days she started to wreak havoc in the house. Breaking out of her crate, two couches, tons of poop, and chewed window sills later, we reached out to Kendra and Scott for help. She had separation anxiety and needed to be taught how to be confident in herself again. Our pup went to the two week board and train program and came out a brand new girl. She was confident. She was calm. She was no longer anxious. We can now walk her without a leash if we needed to. She comes when called. Most importantly she doesn't break out of her crate, and finds it as a safe place now. Her training saved her and saved us. Our girl loves being able to visit Kendra every now and then and we have the confidence of boarding her with someone we trust. Someone who plays with our pup. She's not just locked in a crate all day. We are forever grateful for Kendra and Scott. Every single time someone asks how we got our girl to listen to us, or comments on how well behaved she is, we always tell them about Canine Peace of Mind. Any dog we rescue from here on our will take a two week vacation with Kendra and get the training they deserve. We have their advice for life too! Dog eating the cat poop? Called Kendra. New baby coming home? Texted Kendra. Need to make a part of the yard off limits? Kendra was there to answer all of our questions. We highly recommend the training and all services available after training is completed. The training is best thing we could have done for our girl Lola and our family.

We were dealing with food & high value treat /toy aggression, leash & barrier aggressions, and their coming on call (especially when chasing rabbits were more fun situations than coming to mom & dad) was unreliable at best. Enter Kendra at Canine Peace of Mind. Kendra worked with us on the best board & train program for each of them, customizing their 'stay' schedules based on progress and behavioral shifts. We sent both our dogs to CPM from Sept 2018 - Oct 2018. Kendra knows how tough it is to leave your 'kids' for that extended period of time (because she's done it too!) and made sure to send us picture and video updates on how each of them were progressing. Seeing the quick process made the distance so worth it. Fast forward to picking our pups up on handover day and the difference was remarkable. But it was on us to take those skills & discipline home with us. A couple months into having them home (Jan of this year), we recognized we still needed help (user error!) and Kendra did a house call, free of charge, to help us in reigning in & tightening up their training & our/their behaviors. What an immense help as we saw immediate change and are continuing to build that owner/dog trust together. Here's the from / to for our pups and our family: - From never being able to walk in public on a leash for fear of lashing out against another dog (even when across the street) to walking twice a day at heeling position for 2-3 miles a day, despite what we encounter. - From not having reliable recalls in the least, to trusting our dogs (and because we have grown into much more confident dog owners, trusting ourselves) to have them off leash. We love to go get the mail, take out the trash, etc. together with our dogs. - From breakfast & dinner times being HORRIBLE experiences due to fighting, low growling, & crate checking to having peaceful feeding times. - From having no control during high energy times to having a tool & command for them to go to a dedicated 'place' in any room to calm down and give each other (and us) space. I could go on. But what I would say is if you are encountering any of the above issues, please consider Canine Peace of Mind and their board & train programs. As working professionals that knew we didn't have the time or expertise to dedicate in order to get our pups where they needed to be, we are so happy we did. It has transformed the time we get to all spend together from dread to time that we look forward to because it's happy & enjoyable (which is why we all got these guys in the first place, am I right?). They also offer day care & boarding. We have taken them up on boarding a few times as we know that they get a bit more attention than any standard boarding and they are held accountable to their training just as much there as they are at home.

Everyone who works here seems passionate about dogs and I feel at ease knowing they will watch over my little Stella with as much love and care as I would. We initially started using Paws in Time when we needed a great place to board our dog for a week while on vacation. We've never boarded her anywhere for more than a couple nights (Grandma & Grandpa usually watch her), so I was a bit nervous about where to leave her. We previously had taken her to day camp elsewhere, but there she played in a room all day and not outside. I knew I didn't want her cooped up for an entire week, so I was psyched to let her try out Paws in Time instead since it's a whole dog resort! The dogs are able to play all day in a large facility where they have access to inside play and the outdoors. In the nice weather they have a pool with a slide and other fun toys for the dogs. The best part is honestly all the space they have to run around and socialize with other dogs. They are put in their crates to eat and at night to sleep, and other than that it's cage free boarding. I really appreciated that they fed Stella exactly how I instructed and even gave her the allergy medicine I brought too. I was able to bring a little bed for her and her blanket so she felt right at home all week! We ended up buying a package of day camp sessions which made more sense for us, so it's been nice letting her go get some energy out on random days... especially now that the weather isn't as nice and she's stuck inside a lot. Pricing is reasonable and pick up and drop off procedures are super easy. I'm so glad we've found a great place to take our Stella so she can play with other dogs and stay the night if we go out of town!
