Highly recommend this Woof Beach, Zoki our sheltie puppy definitely needed some more structured training. We weren't teaching him enough at his learning rate! Jen and Taylir provided him with structure and made training fun for him. It's clear by how much he loves them that they love what they do and they're incredibly good at what they do. Now he loves training and will seek out training daily, he'll start doing heel, or place because it's fun for him. We love how excited he is to go to daycare as well, especially because he'll be put to work. When guests come over he'll now hold place and wait for them to greet them, and be released when calm. Have been so lucky to find a perfect solution for my pups! My family has loved our experience with dog training. We have had some very challenging dogs and have had great success. Currently, our dog loving family has 5 dogs- 3 Mini Goldendoodles and 2 Rottweilers, (I know it is a lot!) but with Woofbeach & Jesus we have a very well behaved household- the 5 kids are a different story! I definitely recommend off the leash training. My dogs are very good listeners but more importantly, Jesus was able to teach my kids and hubby the commands to help make it work at home. Be prepared for one on one instruction-very specific for your pet. My dogs all have very different personalities and Jesus was able to help with all of our concerns. Woof Beach was an expensive choice for us to make. Older couple (75+) on fixed income, but that is why we needed the dog to be well trained. He is a rescue from Tennessee and can be easily identified as a stinker. Training takes time and patience and getting to the right results is what you want. We had Justin train our 13 month dog Sherman. They were so connected, I didn't believe it was really our dog the first time we went to his first performance. Justin is just amazing. He had Sherman so focused to his commands it was unbelievable. We are now Justin's next challenge as he attempts to train us how to continue his great work with Sherman. I have a Wheaton Terrier and they are known to be incredibly sweet, smart, bossy, stubborn and often people believe untrainable. I went to FB to search training in our area and found a highly recommended trainer to do in home. I paid a ton of money and it was a disaster. She kept texting me that my puppy was not behaving the way dogs are supposed to behave and she was at a loss. A friend recommended Woofbeach and it was a game changer for me girl. She absolutely loves it there. We can now enjoy simple things we couldn't before like walks or having anyone new around. She used to honestly be able to escape every single collar I tried. She was Houdini! Trying to walk her I'd have 2 collars and leashes and she'd still manage to get out of them. But now she doesn't run, she listens very well. She is much happier and we are thrilled. She's still an occasional stinker, lol, but it's part of what we love about her. We also recently did agility training there and she loved it! Such a great experience. Big shout out for Asia/groomer. We adopted a 1yo Poodle mix from a shelter back in August. According to the shelter, he was a street stray before he was turned into them. In any case, the shelter was only able to halfway groom him as he's quite a handful. Thus, he had very significant hair matting and tangles on his head/neck, legs and tails, along with many smaller hair tangles where he previously was groomed. We were able to get him an appointment with Asia, with some skepticism that they'd be able to totally groom him. I have to say, she not only did a wonderful job, but also was extremely patient and kind with him. She was able to totally groom him, even on his neck where the amount of hair matting so close to his skin may have posed an issue. I can't say just any dog groomer would have had the patience or skill to get the job done. Well done, Asia!! read more

Complete waste of time and money. We spent two grand to have our dog be trained. Afterward he was just fine if he was on a leash inside their place. But even they still can't get him to cooperate with being groomed. He also will never listen to a command unless he's on a leash. Don't waste your money. read more

Our 13-year old fur buddy has been going to Woofbeach Sands for her grooming needs since winter this year. We like the ease of making a reservation online, including requesting a specific groomer. Timeframe for bath and cut is usually about 90 minutes, even on a busy Saturday. Price is reasonable, especially given how much our dog likely moves around with impatience. We have found that our dog responds better for some groomers than others - and that shows in her haircut. Jennifer is her favorite - and ours, after she took special care when our dog had a hind leg injury. read more

My experience at Woofbeach So. Elgin with my Cavachon puppy Bella has been amazing; from a very active pup to an obedient loving pup in 6 weeks. A coworker of mine had her dog enrolled at woof beach for on leash training. Based on her glowing review, we decided to have our dog evaluated, due to her over aggressive behavior on leash with other dogs, and in the yard with our neighbor's dog. My coworker had told me how they have cots in the training area, and how the doggy students were very disciplined. She wasn't kidding! When we went in the very first time, we witnessed this. Not only were they full of doggy students, but they were all very well behaved and did not jump off their cots to greet their new friends. I sold right there. Off our dog goes for on leash training! Fast forward to after training - our dog Stella was very well behaved. Sara primarily worked with Stella during her 4 week boot camp, and worked with us during our sessions. Sara was awesome! We couldn't thank her enough! In addition, we opted to enroll Stella in their off leash boot camp, as she was still being a handful in the yard with our neighbor's dog. This time around, Ryan primarily worked with Stella. Fast forward another 4 weeks, and wow. For us, the transformation that Stella went through was life changing for us. She went from being almost uncatchable when she was being bad in the yard, to being absolutely obedient. Ryan worked with us during our post boot camp sessions, and he did an awesome job as well. It is clear the staff at woof beach are passionate and incredibly capable and competent at what they do. I honestly think that is the trifecta that is required for very effective training. It has been 3-4 months since boot camp, and our beloved Stella is the dog we had hoped she would be since having her as a puppy. The marked change from aggressive behavior, to being completely complicit has been a life changer for us. I would recommend woof beach to anyone, without hesitation. Sara and Ryan are the best! Do not recommend this place. Look, I get that grooming can be a difficult job, I do. However, it isn't hard to follow a simple task. I brought my dog in to get a simple trim and came back to him completely shaved. Your groomer told us she had to because of his knots, but you and I both know it was because you wanted to finish the job as fast as possible.. my dog was shaved un even, sloppy & choppy in areas. There are better groomers out there! We gave you guys a second chance but that was a mistake on our ends. read more

Wanted to take a moment to write a review and tell you how AWESOME the team is at woof beach. Particularly Jesus - but the whole crew is great. So we took our dogs Willie and Clara in for training for some specific reasons - Both were terrible at walks (would pull and lunge at anything that came by) and Clara was petrified of small children and would get aggressive (not great when you are about to have your first kid) We took them in for the training program and were amazed with the results. The walks after jesus was done training them were night and day different It is so pleasant to have such well behaved dogs now who will focus just on my and not all the other things going on around them (unless I give them the command that the can) can't overstate this enough And clara after training was MUCH better with kids. But she still needed some personal attention with some real life neighborhood kids and Jesus took time out of his busy schedule (several times) to come work with us at our house! Clara now actually will go up to kids to say hi - and gone are the days of growling at them I can't recommend these guys enough and tell you how much I appreciate what Jesus did for us. Someone told me about woofbeach and said "oh my god you have to go in there.. all of the dogs are just sitting there perfectly" I was skeptical, but definitely had to see what she was talking about!! I walked in and she was right! All of the dogs were in their place just looking at me. No barking.. no walking.. nothing. It was amazing!! So, I got pricing and decided to train on leash and off leash. I took my dog there thinking this is not going to work with Beethoven whatsoever... First day I go to pick him up. He's in his place just looking at me! FIRST DAY! Zach and Sarah did a great job training my dog! So, They train your dog for as long as it takes and then they train you basically. I was concerned at first as to why I couldn't be there or why they weren't telling me anything after each visit, but then I realized that they didn't want to tell the client what they worked on because the client would then go home and try to teach their dog and then the dog would just end up being confused. So, it definitely makes sense as to why it feels I guess secretive. They have a method and their method works!! I would highly recommend Woofbeach. Woof Beach Sands did a really good job for us. We hired them to train our less than year old German Shepherd for both on leash and off leash training. They use a doggie school approach which works well. For a set amount of weeks you drop your dog off Tuesday thru Friday, instead of the typical come for an hour a week dog training many places offer. They work with them during the day and you pick them back up late afternoon. Zach did a fantastic job with her, she is very active and always worried about what's going on. The training he did with her has made our daily family life with her much easier. She has her own place at home that she goes to on command or if she see's someone with food as she knows now she is not to be a pest. He has trained her on the basic commands and she performs these well most times on and off leash. She is young and still learning. Taking her out is much easier also as she stays with us without a leash. She is very protective of the family but can go out to the backyard and play ball without worry of running off. One of the big requests my son had when we got her was he wanted a dog he could take outside and play with, Woof Beach and Zach have made this completely possible with no fence or electric fence. We have also used their grooming services to have the nails trimmed on our dogs and they do that well also. Whenever I have walked into their business whether a customer or just seeking information at first, I have always been greeted warmly. Zach has been good with follow up also, if we have had a concern he has been fast to offer a solution whether it's just a simple over the phone answer or scheduling a time to have us stop by to show us a training tip. We began working with him in Batavia and when he transferred to South Elgin, we started going there, too. He has that kind of impact and relationship with our dog.
