If it was possible I would give Hairy Hound negative 5 star rating. On February 3 we brought our little sweet girl Daisy here for grooming. Daisy had a big bump on top of her neck. I informed the lady who took Daisy in to be careful not to cut the bump. After couple of hours I went to pick her up and she looked great until I noticed a bloody spot on top. Same lady, I'm assuming she is the owner, didn't even say anything about the cut, not one word!!!! I took Daisy home thinking the cut will heal pretty quick. Oh was I wrong. The nightmare began later on that evening. Gross liquid and blood started oozing out of the cut. As you can see it the pictures it looked horrible. The following day we took Daisy to the vet. It was infected and she had a fever because of it. She was prescribed several medications. Daisys health started to decline and sadly she passed on March 1, 2020. Prior to going to The Hairy Hound daisy showed no health issues and she was one happy dog. I have contacted the Hairy Hound on February 14 and told them about our dog's situation. The owner Beatrice was on vacation and I spoke with one of the employees who assured me Beatrice would get back to me as soon as she returns. As of today I have not been contacted by her. If Beatrice can not bother to contact us about our dog when the problem clearly occurred at her salon how is she going to treat your pet? If you love your pet stay away from this place. read more

Brought my Aussie here today for the first time. She was a little skeptical going in but came out her normal, happy self and looking awesome. This makes me comfortable that she was taken care of and pampered. Groomer did a great job and gave her exactly what I asked for, cleaned up but not too much taken off. The best groomer my dog ever had! I have the Goldendoodle, Bart, and he was abused by the previous groomer. We both (I mean me and my dog) were very nervous when we came to Beatrice, but she was so nice to Bart. I have to say that is was like the dog spa, he calmed down, he wanted to play with her and try to kiss her every time he was able to reach her. I strongly recommend this groomer to everybody. Bea is incredibly friendly and very upbeat, as are the rest of her staff. She even offered to come pick up and drop off my cat! I take my long hair calico Boggle to get shaved twice a year due to her matting, and she has always come back home very skittish and freaked out for several hours to a day or so. After taking her to The Hairy Hound for the first time, the moment I let her out of her cage at home she was completely chill as though nothing had happened to her. I was thrilled by this, was planning on returning anyway due to the affordable and great job Bea did shaving her, but this just makes me even more happy. Bea was very kind, sweet, gentle and very attentive towards my dog. He is a sweet guy, but gets anxiety from the groomer until he is very comfortable with them. We just relocated to Illinois and had a couple of bad experiences with groomers that caused my dog's anxiety to flare. Bea did a great job grooming him and she communicates very well.
