This photo shows the expert in grooming. The one with the yellow bandana was done in May 2020 and the one without the bandana was done at this location. They butchered my dogs hair his face isn't even as you see in the picture. I also had to pay up front without examining the work they did 1st. I do not recommend anyone to go here. You can clearly see the expert in the 2 photos. They butchered my dogs hair. His face doesn't even match. His ball sack is even red like they forced the machine on his privates. Not worth the $40. My dog has had a really bad eye "allergy" for over a year now. With going to the vet for medication and treatment it always came back. I brought in my 6 month old yorkie, it was a HORRIBLE experience. When I picked him up he was not him self for the rest of the day. He was sleeping a lot more than usual and he just seemed so sad. Made me wonder if they hurt him or gave him anything. I then realized his eye looking bloody which made me extremely concerned. Long story short I came in the next day to tell them my concerns and asked for a refund and the owner refused. Even after I showed them the paper work/ prescription eye drops from the vet visit. Please DONT BRING YOUR FUR BABIES HERE! !!!!! The groomer was also speaking to me in a harsh tone trying to make me feel wrong for being so concerned over my puppies eye. A groomer visit turned into a unexpected vet visit, hefty bill and a sad puppy. One last thing...the groomer said " your dog was being aggressive and hard to work with" when my puppy is so sweet and the least bit aggressive. I called the place and some how they said this was normal. How is my puppy throwing up blood normal? We took her to the vet and they said it was because they were choking her now she has fluid in he lungs and has trouble breathing. I recently became a pet owner to a little 7 month old Shih Tzu girl. First time customers to this grooming parlor and as soon as I walked in I was greeted very politely. As I made a walk in appointment the gentleman helping me out said it might take about an hour to an hour and a half. I leave to come back and she is not done yet so once again the gentleman said he needed about another good hour. I said I would wait in the store and they did her cut but I was so unhappy because it was rushed and not only that I asked one of the assistants if they had cleaned out her ears he said he tried but she was very uncooperative.??? But it's a grooming parlor??? Just left very unsatisfied as they also showered her before her cut and after the cut only put some fragrance on her. read more

Took my fur baby in for a full grooming package and they claimed that she had too many knots which she didn't, they cut her hair really short and not only that but they charged $10 more just to cut it off more and it's not evenly cut, they did not brush her teeth and her nails are still long. I only came in for them to cut my puppy's nails. It was her first time so I expected her to be nervous. But the workers that day seemed intimidated by her size and only made her more nervous. They put a thin leash on her that not only made her more nervous but pulled on her where she was choking. I just felt since they didn't give more patience for her and they had other smaller dogs they were able to work with so they turned me away. I walked in this place, and was horrified to see that they sell puppies. The whole place reeked of feces. The puppies were stacked in wire cages, so the feces from upper puppies fell on the lower ones. The had multiple large puppies stuffed into a single cage so that they didn't even have room to turn around. This place is the definition of why puppy mills are bad. I felt like I needed a bath just for walking into the place. Needless to say, I did not leave my cat for grooming. read more

Do NOT bring your dog here. I have an older poodle and they never properly trim his fur around his face. We also always make them aware of his skin condition and they never take notice. Had an amazing groomer in the suburbs for my late cocker spaniel, and I would also groom him myself after ten years it was a pain in the ass. He passed last year and I just got a Chinese crested puppy and figured I'd look for someone local get him used to grooming while he's still young. Walked in this place to get price quotes and I guess they didn't hear me because the groomer was tending to a small black and white shihztu. This young guy was choking this poor dog and rough handling it. When he saw I was looking at what was going on he kept his hand around the dog neck but positioned himself so he'd block my view from his clear mistreatment. I groomed my dog for years and it's not easy but I never found the need to choke my dog in ten years of grooming him... I walked out and felt I should warn anyone considering bringing their dog here. Yes, people could be nice but you don't know how they treat your dog when you're not watching. I would avoid this place. Whatever you do please AVOID THIS PLACE.. We got a puppy from this place and he was sick for a month from the first day. Now a year later we took him back for a grooming and he cried right away when he saw the place. When we came back to get him we could hear him crying right when we opened the door and now he's not the same dog anymore. He's very down and refuses to play and is very angry and traumatized after his grooming. AVOID THIS PLACE! It's been almost 3 weeks and it's still not healed. I talk to the owner and she had a shitty ass attitude. She claim that she would never do something like that and that it was some powder that they put on dogs. BE CAREFUL WITH ALL THE HIDDEN FEED... The place has a new address. Their new location is 5610 South Pulaski rd. I took my very hyper 6 months old 37lb Husky for only a bath. I was told that it would be $15. Compare to other places, that was a good price. I was told that my Husky would be ready in about an hour and a half. I was called exactly 1.5 hour later that she ready. It took me an hour after their first initial phone call to pick up my dog. I was called a 2nd time around 2:10pm and a message was left stating "this is your "3rd" phone call. You have until 2:30pm to pick up your dog. If you don't, there will be an additional $10.00 added to your cost." After I heard the message, I rushed to pick up my husky. When I got there, a hidden fee was added to my $15.00. Apparently, if your dog is a little aggressive, there's an additional fee. Also, if your dog has an accident in the water, there's a contamination fee. This place has an additional fee for pretty much everything that your dog is most likely will do. I told the guy that i wasnt told about the hidden fees. He came around the counter and pointed at some signs that stated the additional fee. This place has sale signs all over the place. I did glanced at the signs when dropping off my husky. I thought it was sale items. After I picked up my husky and paid the additional "aggressive" fee, she was still wet and my Husky was NOT herself. She was too calm and very sleepy. She went in her cage and stood there. Usually, my husky is all over the place. This was my first time at this grooming place and maybe the last time. I REALLY HATE HIDDEN FEES. THE FACT THAT MY HUSKY WAS NO HERSELF, IT REALLY CONCERNED ME. I won't recommend this place. read more

Well, if you want to purchase an extremely ill dog from a person who doesn't give a damn, and thinks the animals they sell are healthy, than be my guest! I purchased the sweetest little puggle, Sally, in the whole world from this place on June 26th, 2010. She seemed fine and dandy to me until two hours after we got home and she started to cough. So, I called my vet and made an appointment for the next day-I just assumed she had kennel cough so it happens to many pups. Oh no, I was wrong. My little lady ended up having pneumonia, 3 different types of parasites, and ear mites. My new, amazing puppy was going to have to spend the night at the vet hospital to receive i.v. fluids and anibiotics, along with being de-wormed and have breathing treatments every three hours. I was so disgusted that I called The Chicago Grooming Parlor and wanted to tell them what was wrong so that they could take care of the other pups. The woman told me to just bring her back and pick out another dog, any dog. I then explained to tat woman that my dog, that I WAS NOT bringing back, would've died within a week if I had not purchased her and gotten her the treatment she so badly needed. I then informed her that I would be contacting the ASPCA because if my puppy was that sick and no one did anything about it, the rest of the puppies were surely to be ill since there were so many of them were in one cage. DO NOT EVER TAKE ANY OF YOUR ANIMALS HERE, OR PURCHASE AN ANIMAL FROM THIS HORRID PLACE! Also, they clipped her nails so short, that when I set her down to walk on the concrete to a little area of grass to potty, almost all of her nails split open and were bleeding! I am pleased to say that while Sally has been on meds for the passed 2 and a 1/2 weeks, the doctor thinks she will make a great recovery. Thanks A-HOLES at the Chicago Grooming Parlor for almost killing animals, you should be ASHAMED of yourselves for how poorly you take care of these wonderful pets! read more
