I brought my pets to Dr Katz in 2017 and it's taken me years to construct a calm review, based on facts. Read the negative reviews about Natural Pet in Bourbonnais - in my experience, they're accurate. This practice used to be owned by Dr Karen Becker who had a thriving holistic practice in Bourbonnais. Dr Becker sold it to Dr Katz... This was my experience: *Dr Katz set a timer so we were talking over one another trying to beat the clock like a bad game show. *I was charged 50 for 15 minutes was way too expensive - even for a holistic vet. *She misdiagnosed ringworm twice, resulting on it spreading to myself and my children. *The examination rooms and scales were not clean, or not cleaned between animals. She examined my kittens on the floor, (there weren't tables in the room), where there was other pet hair. Pet hair on the small scale too. *She refused to answer my calls and provide guidance after ringworm had spread to my other kitten - even though I had paid her for two other vet visits where she failed to diagnose it. *When my kitten was vomiting later that night after being seen by Dr Katz, she would only respond via text - would not answer the phone even though I was willing to pay for after hours guidance. *I saw Dr Katz yell at her employees. *Her employee spoke poorly about Dr Katz behind her back. *The operating room looked like a dark, janitor's closet. *The place only has hours three days a week...what do you do if your pet needs to be seen the other half of the week? *Refused to honor or acknowledge a $20 off new patient coupon after I realized it hadn't been applied at my first visit. (I called later about it.) Bottom line, in my opinion, there are professional, compassionate, and reasonably priced, holistic veterinarians in the area - skip this one. (It took me a long time to construct this review as I didn't want it to be based on emotions - and there were many negative emotions I needed to sort out. I would be surprised if there wasn't a response attempting to attack my character, however, I have proof my review is accurate and factual and can post pictures if deemed necessary.)

Brought my bunny with an ear infection to this vet. I brought bunny back the next day and this vet took no accountability for potentially be aggressive with bunny ears. First visit charged over $250 and I fought with them to in good faith refund or offer credit for ear drops I was now directed to stop using. This vet is only concerned with over charging. Next day they fought with me at front desk and was refusing to issue my credit for the meds that they agreed to credit because we didn't bring the meds back to them for the credit which is very odd because normally any other vet does not want you to bring Meds back for credit because legally, they cannot take the meds back. They were trying to get me to pay an additional $140 for next day check and we actually had to demand that they give us our bunny back. They were trying to not give us our bunny back because of the fact that they owed us a credit and would not give it to us without the medication in hand. My daughter had to drive all the way back home and then all the way back to give them back the eardrops in order for them to issue my credit and then all of a sudden they added an additional medication onto my bill, charging me over $90 After the credit, when they told me earlier that all I had to owe them for that next day visit was a little over $40. The bottom line is that this veterinary practice took no accountability whatsoever for creating an additional either inner ear, or neurological problem by the aggressive treatment to my bunny ears. I will never go back to this place and I hope that this is a message for those that might be using this vet for exotic pets in particular.

That is how you will confirm pets are not being taken care of here and how they lie or make up stuff. This last time I let Bella and Gus stay here for 2 nights ONLY!!! I intentionally aways bathe them when I drop them off bc you can tell how well they are kept there. Well again.... Always a reason why they bathe them. Again I asked why now....THEY SAID THAT BOTH WERE WALKING IN POOP OR PEE. HOW CAN THEY WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF!?!!!! They never have pooped or peed inside unless you are not home for 8+ hours!!! I asked 4 different staff members and all 4 including the vet/owner has a different story!!! They even tried to charge me a office charge bc the vet/owner wanted to speak to me when I did not!!! Just call me!!! Why see you in person? They again tried ti add a vet visit wth!!! This is how bella came out after 2 days stay!!! DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY SAY!!!!! Or catch them in lies as I did!!! Be smarter than them or do not take them here at all. Both vet owners did not try to make things right at all!! They take no accountability at all. They always have generic answers for anything you bring up to them. Nobody even told me I would get Bella back like this!!!! I was so shocked!! She did not have this and all this in just a 2 day stay!!! Not even a good explanation was given but a genetic answer. They also brought up a cousins name that has not worked there in a long time, nothing to do with me. Petty!!
