My pup CHAZ LOVES to attend day care at the Warwick Dogtopia. He gets so excited when we pull up in my car, he runs wagging his tail to get in the front door! The staff are amazingly friendly and responsive to your pet, and the best part, they have WEBCAMS so you can watch your little pooch playing throughout the day. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility for anyone that is very protective of their pup and only want the BEST CARE for them. Sadly, they were not kind to my buddy, a sweet and command friendly pet that was only guilty of being too happy. Oh, I should mention he is 96 lbs. That made a great bit of difference in the mind of the girl who took him for his interview. She apparently had her own idea of what a dog should look like. Unfortunately, he can nt e over a certain weight. As we hoe greatly people would no longer hav prejudies regarding othersould look if they do we certainly can't cadone it! Tn those people who have prejudices against animals. Buddy is a very sweet, kind, loving dog.He is just very excited, and he needs a place to go to exert that energy. This particular person who did the interview told me he couldn't attend because he was too big and too excited with the other dogs. It seems to me that they should have people working there who could handle the bigger dogs. Especially like Buddy, who is very gentle and very sweet. I would have to say if you are going to think about going here, I would remember how Buddy was treated. Being a rescue, he has not been treated very well up to this point. I do think they have some prejudices here. I wouldn't even think of taking another dog here if I had one because of how they treated Buddy. read more

I brought my dog in for a "meet and greet". The staff was friendly, they seemed to really like the dogs that were coming in. Then a woman came in with her dog, she apologized for being late,, her dog wasn't feeling well. At that point, I had something in the back of my mind that said walk out right now But I had high hopes for this place , so after an initial meet and greet, they let my dogs stay the day. They gave me the link to the app so I could monitor her activity. I also had a tour of the facility. I noticed that there were about 20 dogs in each of the four rooms and only one person. Again, I pushed this in the back of my mind because I had such high hopes I got home and continue to watch my dog on the cameras and what I saw was just so wrong on so many levels They had four employees for about 60 dogs. My dog was in one of the smaller playrooms where she had no place to sit because it was so crowded and the few open spots were covered in dog poop because the one person in the room couldn't keep up with all the dogs pooping everywhere I was unaware that they do not take dogs out to go to the bathroom. They just poop and pee in the playroom and the one person in the playroom just follows them around with a mop and bucket. Then I understood why they had me fill out all the non-liability paperwork that they did Specifically non-liability for infection and parasites There's no way to control infection in parasites when your dog is playing where it goes to the bathroom! That and I witnessed them allow a dog in after their owner stated that the dog wasn't feeling well. I went and got my dog as soon as I could Yes, she was exhausted, but it was not because she played all day. She was exhausted because she stood in a room all day and just wandered aimlessly without any interaction with another human being or another dog. This place should be shut down by the state. Updating my review! After a 4.5 hour visit 2 of which my dog was crated for nap time, and the rest where she stayed in a corner and didn't interact with any dog-my dog now has Kennel Cough! 2 days after her first visit we received an email that there were confirmed cases of kennel cough. At that minute we decided she would not be returning for a second visit- fast forward 8 days and my dog had to go to the vet yesterday and now has kennel cough. Why wouldn't you close? If dogs can continue to contract it for up to 14 days then it's just going to end up being a perpetual problem, which at this point I'm assuming it is. Not happy at all- lots of time, money and lost sleep..... Also Why am I reading that people aren't doing their records until after their dogs have a visit? All the records are supposed to be reviewed prior to the dogs first visit? My dog had to be vaccinated and I had a show records wire so I'm not having to do the same? My little pitbull has been going to daycare at Dogtopia Warwick for a few months now and he is always thrilled when we pull up to the parking lot. He gets to play with dogs in a well-monitored environment that is much safer than a dog park. They keep the facilities very clean and make sure there is plenty of water when he is outside in the summer heat. I watch the webcams often while he is there and can tell the staff is well trained and understand how to keep the environment positive. They are good at matching dogs by temperament and giving them breaks from play when they are tired. I love my dog so much and am grateful that they treat him so well! read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Picking up my dog covered in his own poop and his bed covered after boarding him and seeing him act different on the webcams from his normal behavior. Daycare was great but after the boarding I will never bring my dog back. read more

ONE EMPLOYEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERSEEING/CONTROLLING 20-30 DOGS AT A TIME AND ARE NOT ADEQUATELY TRAINED WHATSOEVER. We boarded our 11 mo old pit mix, Lenny. Hes barely 40lbs. Watching the cam our 1st day on vaca we noticed a dog fight break out. After several min the employee pulled the dogs apart n SMACKED ONE OF THE DOGS ON THE TOP OF THEIR HEAD THEN TOOK 2 EMPTY METAL BOWLS AND BANGED THEM TOGETHER IN FRONT OF THE DOGS FACES TO GET THEM TO STOP UNTIL HE EVENTUALLY GAVE UP. We never saw any access to water for dogs. All the empty bowls were stacked on top of the crates. We were told 4 times wed get a tour n never did were guessing it's cuz they're hiding something. Lenny was kept with 20-29 fully grown, adult dogs. He can adjust to dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes, but can't control how the dogs behave towards him. Their cam access isn't available on Sundays (which we weren't told). The cameras went off at random times during the day, turned on too late/shut off early. The first 2 days we saw him on cam he was having a blast. After that he was hiding, walking around with his tail between his legs avoiding all the dogs and whatever staff was with him. He usually needs to be the center of attention and included in whatever is going on. He doesn't like being by himself, he always wants to be next to someone whether it's a person, cat, dog, whatever. He was hiding in the corner and wed only see him if another dog went near him n he'd walk away. That wasn't exhaustion, that was fear. Seeing how scared he was brought me to tears. Even when we brought him home, if me or my fiancé moved too fast or was standing up while he was laying down, he starts shaking, which hes NEVER done before. SOMETHING happened. We had to bring him to dc 3x prior to boarding. 1st 2 times he came home with minor scratches n seemed like he had fun. 3rd time he came home covered in older-newer layers of URINE n more severe wounds (seemed ok tho n tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an off-day; it was also too late to find another facility). We picked up Lenny from boarding, taking him out of the car we noticed he had feces on his thighs, legs, his tail, n feet. There was also feces n BLOOD on his dog bed. His bed was covered in black fur (he's a tan dog). Guessing that on Sun when they're cams are off they're left in their crates all day. Guests are greeted with an extremely pungent scent of dog urine. The 1st day we dropped off for dc, another dog had peed in their lobby. THEY WIPED IT UP W PAPER TOWELS. The scent is due to improper sanitary procedures, which Erica their new GM admitted. I have videos of the way that they clean up the dogs urine and feces. After dogs urinate several times in several spots and are walking though it tracking it everywhere, an employee will grab the mop that's already sitting in the bucket, go over all the little puddles dragging it across the floor to the next one spreading urine everywhere, then will put the mop back in the bucket. The mop head doesn't get changed, the solution doesn't get changed; it just gets swept over then put back in the bucket until next time, when they grab that same dirty mop and do it again. The feces is handled by them picking it up, throwing it away. That's it. The food we brought was barely touched. Lenny lost 6 lbs from when we dropped him off to bringing him home. The moment he got home he immediately drank the 2 full bowls of water that were left for our cats n ended up eating 4 bowls of food because he was THAT hungry and thirsty (he only eats when he's hungry). We've boarded dogs before, this was Lenny's 1st time. I've never had a dog come home so thirsty, hungry, and scared. He's still not acting normal towards us and we have to bring him to the vet to make sure he didn't catch anything from the unsanitary conditions he was sitting in for 6 days. I can only imagine what happens when the cameras are off n no one's watching. It is next to impossible to ensure that none of the dogs have kennel cough. Unfortunately it can happen in any group setting; dog parks, pet stores, groomers and so on. I know you mentioned how expensive it was to get your pet vaccinated once she had visited the vet after the incident. I guess my question is, you knew you were taking your dog to a group setting. My husband (who Dogtopia refers to as "partner" since we are a gay couple in 2021) and I started to bring our dogs to Dogtopia of Warwick when they were six months old three times a week for playtime and socialization. In the past six months, they have both contracted Kennel Cough and Giardia twice. This led to over $3,000 in Emergency Room, Office Visits and Medications. The staff at Dogtopia are pleasant, but they are not equipped with the skills to identify and manage a dog that comes to this facility that exhibit symptoms that would compromise another dog's health (such as a cough and loose stool). This facility has a significant amount of staff turnover, so our pups never get experienced and well-trained humans that are consistent. We would have expected a call from the facility if either dog appeared to have Kennel cough or loose stool. But it was not until we picked them up in the evening and in the car ride home we discovered they were ill. When I brought this up to the manager, Jessica. The concern was left unresolved and dismissed. I also discussed with Jessica about another staff member treating our German Shepherd Lucy as if she was violent when I brought her in for drop off. I would like to note that Lucy has never been violent to anyone. She is excited, but never violent. Jessica's response was in such that the front desk staff are not as "trained" or in a position to receive dogs. I don't think someone afraid of dogs should be working a front desk at a dog facility or in any capacity at such a facility. That issue was never even resolved. Other staff at the facility insisted that the neglect our dogs experienced was the fault of the prior manager, even though they have a full team that are allegedly trained with more than 100 hours and an owner who is absent. We were never contacted by the owner David. He is always "in meetings" and absent from the day to day running of this facility. I did receive an email once saying he would like to talk but he never ended up reaching out. We have two dogs; one is a German Shepherd (Lucy) and the other is an Australian Shepherd (Tucker). Our Australian Shepherd Tucker was discharged from Dogtopia over an incident with nipping. We took Dogtopia's recommendation and brought him to weekly training at the Dogtopia facility and worked with him full time at home. Even when we had to miss a class, we made the class up in another session. All of these training courses never really progressed to more than standing around and giving our dog a treat every three seconds and putting them in a crate to calm them down. This course was designed by the Dogtopia facility. My dog is very calm in a crate and is fully crate trained. However, the trainer and all the staff that recognize our Australian Shepherd Tucker agreed that he and us were doing very well, and they missed him. Today we went for another evaluation with him, and Jessica the manager said he did not pass because he was over stimulated. I'm just not confident that this facility is well equipped to handle the capacity or are well trained to handle all the responsibilities that come with caring for our dogs that are puppies and keeping them healthy. The mop buckets are never cleaned after each use and the water in them is basically recycled contaminated water to clean up another mess another dog will make. We have observed this on camera and have been advised by our vet this is all exposing our dogs. The dogs will lick the floor and get sick. It is my opinion that you send your dogs to a facility that has the capacity and skills to take excellent care of your pups while keeping them healthy. The rooms "look" nice but after that..the skills and actual cleanliness of this facility fall very short of what you expect. We have worked so hard to train our dogs. So yea, send your dogs to a facility equipped to handle them, reinforce the training you have done at home and above all, keep them healthy. I took my dogs here for a meet and greet because I am in need of boarding. My girl is out of town the same week as I am that I usually use. All of the reviews were great. A few people told me about DogTopia and had good things to say. I was a little nervous because one of my dogs is shy and has anxiety. She has never been an atmosphere like DogTopia. After the evaluation they felt both of my dogs were ready for the pack. I watched them pretty much shove them in through the door but felt... well they are dogs, new place, how else would they get them in? One of my dogs was just fine, seemed happy to be with other dogs. My shy one stayed by the door. Ears back... shy.... The person giving the tour I guess is the manager, Brittany. She said that is pretty normal and it may take some time for her to warm up. She suggested we leave them there for a few hours as its good for them and give her time to warm up. So I did. I will never ever bring my dogs back! I picked up my dogs about 3 hours later. My one shy pup that is white was literally covered in what they say, her own poop! And there weren't even going to tell me! I noticed it walking out of the door to my car. I had to ask what happened and why she wasn't cleaned. The worker's response was "Oh, she had an accident, we tried to clean her the best we could." And walked away. My dog was not attempted to be cleaned. It looked like she was smeared with poop. I had to ask the receptionist for wipes and cleaned her in the parking lot for about 30 mins. Not one person offered to help or even seemed to care. I asked why she wasn't cleaned and the response was... "The groomer leaves at 5." So no one could do anything because the groomer is gone?! They are equipped with a bath, etc. You don't need a groomer to clean up after an accident. Lack of compassion for animals, lack of common sense, and lack of communication. There are a bunch of kids working here that clearly just need a job. There isn't a love for animals here. It's a revolving door of pups and $$$ for this place. I asked for the manager to call me. To my surprise she did but not to follow up on my compliant. To ask for their records because I did not have them on me and assumed the vet sent them over since DogTopia said they would request them. I asked her "are you calling me about yesterday". She said "well I'm a little confused and I need their records, that's why I'm calling". I told her my experience and she offered a bath! A bath.. a day later? I declined as I spent two hours of my night cleaning my dogs, my kitchen floor, bathroom, and my car will be cleaned today. Yes, it was that bad. I should have taken photos. I will never use them or a place like them. I'm sticking with my private dog sitter. I would rather cancel my trip before leaving my fur babies in this environment read more
