Friendly people, delicious all-beef hot dogs (see photos for menu), very old school Florida vibe. Attached to the soda fountain ice cream shop

Wasn't impressed at all. Personally, I think if you're going to sell a specific item then make sure these items stand out. I stopped in for a quick lunch and got the chilli cheese dog combo with chilli cheese tots... nothing special. Cheese and chilli was luke warm at best and the bun was already falling apart when I picked it up. The tots wasn't crispy and if I'm paying extra for the chilli and cheese let's make it worth it? The lady wasn't very friendly neither - she made it seem like I was bothering her with some questions . Sorry I was holding up the long line you had (there wasn't anyone behind me fyi)..

We stopped at the Doghouse a couple of weekends ago as we were visiting College Park. We ordered 2 Combo Chili Cheese Dogs ($13.10 each) with an order of Totchos (Tator Tots with Green onion, cheese sauce and bacon) and a canned soda and the second combo with an order of Pizza Tots. The Hot Dogs themselves are thick and flavorful. The Tator Tots tasted fresh and crispy. The Chili was spicier than we enjoyed so we would probably not get chili again....but there are so many toppings to choose from that that will be just fine. They also have ice cream that we will have to try on our next visit. There was only one visible employee and he cashiered, prepared our food and delivered it to our table. Seating is indoor and there are a couple of tables on the sidewalk right off of Edgewater.

The service was great and the food was delicious. I got the beef hot dog with onions, relish, mustard and cheese and a side of regular tater tots. They give you a nice, healthy portion of food and it was definitely filling. I've been wanting a really good hot dog for a while now and this place completely satisfied my craving. I'm already planning my next visit. It's located in such a cute area with a historic feel and the restaurant also has an attached ice cream parlor. Definitely recommend!

We just sent for the first time and had a great experience. We got Hot Dogs, Mac and cheese and a few kids of tots. I'm a tough critic with the bun and it was great. There's also really fun tot options. It's attached a cute ice cream shop which is fun. The ice cream was a bit over priced but a fun place to take kids!

I saw some buzz about this spot from some of my foodie friends on Instagram and hadn't had a hot dog in a long time so figured we should check it out! My boyfriend was excited since he is always up for a good hot dog. We decided to do a to go order and did one combo plus two additional dogs. We shared a chili cheese dog, my boyfriend chose their BLT dog, and I decided to try the reuben dog. For the combo, we did urban tots as a side which is their tots with garlic aioli and Parmesan. Everything was nicely packed and still warm and fresh when we opened it up at home. The tots were delicious! They were crispy, not greasy, and the garlic aioli sauce was amazing. The chili cheese dog was loaded with flavorful chili and a generous amount of cheese sauce. I love that the buns they use hold up even with all of the toppings while still being soft. They didn't get soggy at all. My Reuben dog was also really tasty. There was a good balance of toppings and the melty Swiss cheese complimented everything perfectly. The dogs themselves have a great flavor and are thick and filling. I ended up saving some of my food for lunch the next day. The dogs didn't have as much of a snap as some spots, but that may have been more due to them being take out. They were still really good. Overall, these were some of the best hot dogs I've had and I will definitely go back to try some of their other unique flavor combos!

The aesthetic of the restaurant is very cool and looks very fun - there's a sofa fountain place next door to it that's connected. That looks more appealing and appetizing. This place has a good range of specialty hot dogs which I like. I got the Chicago dog, which came with some pico de gallo toppings and jalapeño peppers. It got a spice kick to it from the Jalapeño peppers. I really loved their tots, they also have a wide variety of tots that you could try. I live the blue vinegar tots, which is like almost similar to putting malt vinegar in your fries. It had a great taste to it. I would love to try the other tots. Other than that, nothing too special about these dogs. Something you could make by yourself with some of your own ingredients.

Dogs are the toddler's go to meal, which is great because we are a dog-friendly family. Kids meal for her, cheese and slaw dog for me, some own creations for the husband, plus a tot sampler of Mac n cheese, totichos, and urban tots. The loaded tots are a must try! Go with the sampler, especially if it will be a few of you enjoying them (I couldn't finish them all for myself). The slaw here is creamier than I'm used to, but it was a great dog. The dog itself is plump and juicy. Not sure why the low rating. We enjoyed our lunch.

My wife and…read moreher parents are from Chicago, the home of Portillo's, so when they visit us, we have to go here! We do not normally come to this location but they are all pretty similar. This location is on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also in a very touristy area. They have opened a few locations around Central Florida. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. I think their food is best eaten there so its hot and fresh. Inside their decor is a mix of old timey cars and car hops. It reminds me of a restaurant you would find in the 60s. Its fun, the staff are fun, there is music and they also sell beer. I don't think I have ever really seen a fast food restaurant serving beer. Im sure they exist but I cant think of one. This is a fun environment, the staff calls your order out and then when its ready they use very fun slogans to tell you its time, such as "Order 165 it's time to shine" and "Order 173 come and meet me". This is perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money and also get a hot dinner or lunch. There were a lot of families in here eating dinner when we went. It is very touristy at this location, the shopping center it is in, also has a White Castle so just be prepared. There were plenty of parking spots though. Portillo's menu is very simple, they have hot dogs, burgers/chicken sandwiches, salads, bowls and Italian beef. However, they are most known for their Chicago style hot dogs. Their Italian beef is very good, they dip the sandwich in a hot au jus sauce. A Chicago dog has mustard, green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a meal on top of the hot dog. My wife usually orders the Chicago dog with no onions or relish. I usually go for the Italian beef or one of their salads or bowls. I usually get something different each time. This visit, I actually went with the Italian Sausage and Beef combo served on a hoagie bun. This was a great combo and even my wife mentioned how the sausage was really good and something she would probably get next time. Service is always really great. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Someone is always cleaning the tables, everyone says hello, they are just really great with their service. Drinks can be refilled, you just need to go to the counter if they do not have their own self service machine. I would definitely recommend this chain. The food is great, service fantastic and a fun vibe inside. ACES!

Music is on, everyone is friendly, and they are very funny calling out your numbers. Such as "Order 252 it's time to meet you" or "Order 365 it's time to shine". It's a fun place and perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money. The food is pretty much hot dogs and burgers/chicken sandwiches, but they are known for their hot dogs, plain and simple. They also offer other options such as chicken, fish, burgers, salads and bowls and Italian beef. The Italian beef is fantastic, it gets dipped in a hot au jus sauce, but you can also ask for no dip as well. Their bowls are not like a rice bowl, it is their beef or sausage minus the bread. This is what my husband usually orders, and he loves it. I usually go for the Italian beef or the classic Chicago dog. A Chicago dog has mustard, the brightest green relish you have ever seen, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a big dog! This can be customized any way you want it, remove something add something, it is how you want it. This visit I did order the Chicago dog with no relish or onions. It's how I prefer it. My husband ordered something new, he tried the Italian Sausage and Beef combo which was served on a hoagie bun. The sausage was actually really so good! I think I found a new favorite item, I will be getting the sausage next time. The service is really great too, everyone is always friendly. They will give you refills; they call out your number really fun and it's just a great place. They read your order back when you order which I also really like. It is quick service, fast food whatever you want to call it, but they do make it an experience. I would definitely recommend this chain. This is new to Orlando, probably within the last couple years, but it brings a touch of the north down here! I love it! It is loud so kids can be loud. It is not super expensive so its a good meal for the family. There are a lot of items so there should be something for everyone. The only difference is the Portillo's in Chicago also have a huge pasta section which I miss. Their pasta was good! I would love to see it here.
