I can't believe some of the snobbery I'm seeing in the reviews but it's all good-- the people in the area will continue to support this family owned business that has been in the area for years! It also did not have enough cheese for my liking, the cheese was at the very bottom and they use cheap cheese as well... it was Just bread and ground beef. My wife and I love subs. But not just any subs. Like flat top subs with chopped meat. Amazing place to grab a bite. It's my type of sub. The owner was incredibly helpful and made us feel like we were regulars. Incredible experience! Trying to get back there but they close early. The meat itself was chopped beautifully. We always get extra meat any where we go but when I asked for extra meat he said "have you ever been here before?" That is the right response and thank god I didn't cause there is no more room for extra meat. They even gave us a spoon. Don't throw it away. lol. Trust me. You will need it. They also make their own in house fruit punch. That was awesome. You need ice with it. Also a huge tip, do not get extra salt. Not necessary. We did but next time we will do without it. We ate every bit of that sub. If I could say one thing, they need a cheese sauce to put and it would take this to the top of my book! You gotta get the Chico's sub! Been coming here forever & have turned so many people on to this place. I can't speak for any of the other subs because I always get the chico which is the best cheesesteak sub out there. Not to mention the most affordable spot for subs. Order your food at the window then just wait a few minutes for your food. This is an Orlando staple. It has been around forever (since the 70's) and they are known for their take on a cheesesteak. It's not like your regular cheesesteak it's a chopped cheesesteak sandwich with TONS of meat, mayo, white american cheese, and banana peppers (I add onions and mushrooms to mine for a small upcharge). They do have other subs available, however I can't comment on those since this is the only one I have ever got there. Now yes it may not be in the greatest area of town, but we have never had any issues going there. Danny and his mom (who cooks everything) are great and take pride in what they do. I just happened to go by yesterday and was so happy to see them open again after being closed for a month due to this virus thing. Unfortunately due to the meat shortages they don't have large sandwiches available only small and medium at this time. If you want to try something unique and support a local business, I would say you have to try this place! You will not be disappointed! read more

Wow a local hidden gem that I didn't recall ever visiting although its been around for years! They have bankers hours even on weekends but if you can try their cold or hot subs but they are truly known for their cheesesteak! I love their turkey and roast beef sub with all the regular trimmings including banana peppers and a oil mix that compliments soft bread so well! I love its flavor combined with mayo. Chico's is a great little sub shop right near the Citrus Bowl. It has all the normal subs, along with a few hot subs such as meatball, sausage and a 'cheesesteak' (It is a ground beef and cheese sub. Still a really popular choice. Make sure you get peppers for it) I recommend the Combo Sub with light on the oil/vinegar. They just got a gelato's and ice cream! This place clearly isn't geared to care about the customer. The cashier has told me on two different occasions he couldn't put extra cheese on top of the Philly cheesesteak. Also, they only take cash which is highly inconvenient for most working class people who need a quick lunch. The recorded message on their phone makes it clear not to call and ask to place a to go order stating "we do not take to go orders so do not call back asking" RUDE! Each time I eat here I have to stop and get cash first, only to get there and be reminded they can't honor the small request for my sandwich. I feel like a place like this with mediocre food should really try and make customers' needs their top priority. It feels like the customer is more of a burden to them. As far as the quality of food, it is mediocre at best with ground beef on their Philly Cheese Steak instead of ribeye meat. Just had me some chico's for lunch! Steak sub was delicious and very filling!! I still have half of sub left! GREAT prices, the only thing is they ONLY take cash! It's also kind of scary because its in the HOOD and they have like a metal fence outfront LMAO BUT again the subs are good! So get in your car (Make sure you have a self defense weapon LOL or pepper spray) and go take a drive to the hood by downtown orlando and go pick up a yummy steak sub for all under $5. read more

I can't believe I never knew about this sub shop. I ended up at a wake at the church that is catty corner from this sub shop and decided to stop in and get some subs to take home to the family. I purchased 3 of their cheesesteak subs and they were all delicious. They were packed with delicious, bite-sized tee niney slivers of meat. So good. I am so happy I have discovered this place, my new favorite sub shop since Mama B's is no longer. Just take a left off Washington on Tampa and you too can enjoy these wonderful subs. I saw a teriyaki chicken sub on the menu and hope I can deter from the cheesesteak one day so I can try something else, but that cheesesteak was delish. The bread is fresh and soft and the veggies were also very good. And the price - this place is so worth the drive. Google them and then put your car in drive and head on over. I ordered at the window and the guy who took my order knew I was a first timer because he did not recognize me - we'll be changing that real quick!! Very personable and made me feel very welcome. The location is not in the nicest part of town, but that is how you discover new places and new friends.
